We will still get Nintendo first party games to enjoy during the Switch 2 release and life cycle.

Another so called AAA game messed up by developers for whatever reason.
Was so looking forward to this one.

Anyway Sony Studios will lead the way next week and show them how its done, with Astro Bot.

Well I’m hoping things will get better when Sony Studios get back releasing PS5 games and of course Nintendo with the Switch 2.
We can normally rely on these two to show us what their consoles are truly capable of and games fully optimised.

Any idea when the review embargo lifts?

Day one for me baring some sort of disaster, but I doubt that very much.

Crying out for a top quality Sony studio title, so I bet this sells well.

It’s on my radar waiting for performance patches for real 60fps hopefully.
Or PS5 Pro version.

It’s more about developers chasing the wrong things and not optimising that is causing issues this generation. Just look at SW Outlaws.
60fps at 720p to 1080p max resolution on PS5 and Series x. Not sure what series s and PC are.

Also by now we used to having a few more Sony AAA studio campaign games just for the new generation PS5. Which normally leads the way and shows us what a PS5 is fully capable of.
So we are a bit behind there as well.

I think the PS5 Pro is just there to help badly optimised games released by third party developers, which seems to be the trend this generation.

Yay gaming in 2024 a ducking shambles from one thing to the next, from one month to the next.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with a bit of multiplayer, as long as it is not at the cost of the single player development.

Finally is the tide slowly turning back to single player games focus.
Just how much time and money has been wasted in this GaaS chasing monopoly.
I’m hoping it will go away now and we can start seeing some big quality AAA single player games again.

This is Sony AAA quality and perfection.
Now Sony listen up, stop fannying around,
And get make some more, like you used to.

More death bringing to this all ready increasing worst generation ever.
I would not mind just if this if we actually got some quality AAA games like in last generation.

I mean just look at sw outlaws about 77 meta.
Microsoft last year with their big three all low scores.
And Sony studios does 2024 exist.

Let’s see what Astro Bot brings.

Then all the big wonder why consoles and games sales are down. Actually produce something that is actually worth the price.

Xbox hardware so low in Europe
PS5 down 5 million compared to PS4 same time line.
Nintendo low sales due to well overdue replacement.

Well Sony needs to do something interesting soon, Astro Bot will hopefully be great, but that’s a little sip from the cup of what was produced on the PS4 from Sony Studios.
Some of their Studios have obviously been work on games but with no reveals yet, ND 4 years in and not a flash, just one for example.

The fact they are down about 5 million PS5 compared to PS4 in Europe same time line is not fantastic.

Surely they must have something planned and cooking to yell about and get the good ship PlayStation running on full steam with those top AAA single player studio games again.

The CPU thing is a bit of a concern.
But then again the multi cores in the existing consoles are hardly used.

I was getting worried that without the PS5 Pro, I wouldn’t be playing Lego Horizons at native 4K 60fps 🤣

Let’s see how it goes.
But at this rate with games releases and the let downs.
Switch might be my most played console of 2024.
I know so far 2024 gaming hours across all three consoles will be lowest since they all started reporting it.

At 77 on meta, that’s less than the likes of Starfield as a comparison, 83.
I have to play top quality AAA, so it’s a miss for me.
Next up Astro Bot, very soon.

Reviews seem a bit hit and miss.
A good few bugs in the PS5 version said one review.

I must be honest, but does anything else think games lately are just poor overall compared to releases in the PS4 and Xbox one days.
There is no, just released generation to blame, it’s been nearly 4 years now.
Just seems we pay more now but the games are worse than the good quality from last generation.

I’m just hoping if they announce at the Tokyo game show it’s not at silly o’clock in the UK with preorders going live straight away.

Because if it’s early hours in the morning in the UK, we know the scammers and bots will be snapping them all up, before we get out of bed and stand a chance of getting a preorder.

The PS5 preorders when up straight away at about midnight UK time, I was up so got one.

Sony please just think about this.

Yep I want the best on my tv and very best experience.
Which happens to be a Sony tv.

Take my money I want PS5 Pro now.

Shall wait for the reviews first before doing anything.
Though I have GPU until March 2025 so can easily give it ago.

Anyway tomorrow, Monday 1pm we get the SW outlaws reviews.

Just bring on the Astro Bot, not long now.

I have always said as you know. The Avowed 30fps issue and other games on release day like Redfall and Starfield is because Xbox developers have to make for series s and x, PC and cloud gaming all for day of release and to a time scale.

Sony and Nintendo developers make games for one console and can focus on its power and get the best for that console.

If Avowed developers were making the game just for Series x, it would be 60fps.

Not my type of game and have watch a few bits online to get a better appreciation and your review was spot on from what I watched.
Not really exploration
Basically a boss battle game.

Even if this game was for me I would wait for performance patches as the trick with the 60fps is a bit off putting.
Also the inevitable PS5 Pro should help as well.

Sony studios if and when will show the way on the PS5 as they have done with say spider man 2 60fps and will do with Astro Bot.

Hi buddy, great tv and the newer LG oleds are even better.
I’ve been over on Pure Xbox getting annoyed with Avowed being 30fps only, the series x is getting a bit let down with this approach.

TGS is all about the PS5 Pro for me.
I have everything crossed.

By the way don’t all attack it’s just an observation over the last few years with Sony.
I have a PS5 slim and looking forward to the PS5 Pro.

It’s like I have a Sony X95L 65” amazing tv and best upscaling and motion control I’ve ever seen.
But Sony so annoy me how they only have 2 HDMI 2:1 sockets and one of them you have to use for earc, leaving you one free.

It’s seems to always be the way with Sony, yes the best but some sort of cost cutting and sacrifice when you buy their products or services etc.

I’m sort getting further into this generation and realising that Sony are becoming the do little as possible to earn as much a possible company, which includes price increases on console and games first from the big three.

Even though I have issues with Xbox, sometimes I wish they had not gone multi platform with some games and competed more on the console hardware front and exclusives.
Because if and when they leave the hardware market, then welcome to more of all this from Sony.

Well I guess less graphical detail and CPU AI usage is required to get a stable 60fps.
We can’t have it both ways with what I call this half a new generation.

It’s definitely not like last generation for sure and some generations before.
It seems stale and unexciting just from the developers and Sony and Microsoft, but also the old show excitement is missing as well.

I get what you are saying, but it probably had a big audience and Sony could have reached out to a lot of non PS5 owners.
Also Sony have been so quiet really and it would have been something for the fans.
I go back a long way in gaming and the PS4 days of Sony knocking it out the park with games, announcements and fan service, seem a distance past of Sony nowadays.

What has happened to the old days
When I saw an Uncharted 4, TLO2 or GOW reveal and left so excited for gaming and what was being released in the future.

Was excited for this game, but the more they show the more looks an average not big AAA game. 7/10 ish type game.

Two hours I can never claim back.
Can I sue them.
