Going by the fact you can hardly get a PS5 disc drive and we have sold thousands in the UK and most shops are sold out. Smyths Toys across the UK have zero stock now and Argos are on back orders most places ,after the all digital PS5 Pro got announced, is telling us the PS5 Pro will absolutely fine sales wise.

No bugs so far but have installed the update.
Reminds of how games used to be no bugs and top performance.
Sees only Sony and Nintendo manage this on release date of games nowadays.

UK here most PS5 owners I know are COD and FIFA and buy little else outside of those games every year.

Yep, if they start losing to many sales in Japan Sony will do something about it, I think.

But I’m very surprised about Astro Bot though, I thought the Japanese would have loved that game.

I do believe in the PS5 and Series x they have multi core CPU but very few developers use them, the thread cores. So that’s a waste of time having them.
If they did use the multi cores in the existing CPUs they could probably get around the CPU issues.

You are spot on there, forced profit by adding 2tb instead of 1tb and letting us decided to expand memory or not.
The PS5 Pro would have been at £600 then.

It’s the forced 2tb of memory that really has me annoyed it could £100 less with 1tb of memory.
Then the user can buy more like now if they wish, giving you the option.

Would rather 1tb in the PS5 Pro and the price still £700 with a better CPU, because that is where a lot of bottle necks are appearing in new games lately on consoles, resulting in reduced frame rates.
GTA6 will be a heavy use CPU game and the PS5 Pro won’t help at all with that as it has the same CPU as the PS5.

I would love a 60fps GTA6 as a rule I don’t play any game that runs at 30fps now.
I know crazy but there you go.

I think the PS5 Pro could do it, if it was a Sony in house developed game engine and Sonys top developers.
But it isn’t so I’m not too hopeful now.

I would rather Sony had given us just 1tb PS5 Pro and spent the hundred pound on a better CPU.

Then if we wanted more memory we could have expanded that ourselves.

I have a new Sony tv and soundbar system, sub and rear speakers. Top end range.

Did I pay more yes. Am I happy, absolutely.

And I have owned an Lg C3 and Samsung s90c.
But the Sony upscale and motion is so top tier even against those amazing TVs.

You pay more and Sony do dam well annoy me as they cut corners with sockets and things.
But if you want the best you pay and get over it I’m afraid.

Developers really have not got the knack with Unreal 5 yet, especially when optimising for consoles. And remember Unreal 5 is meant for all devices.

Some of this is issue is with developers not optimising that well on PS5.

I bet one of Sonys top developers with their own in house engine could produce either of those games you mentioned with a lot better results visually.

Well we know my answer.
Sony are utter trash for making it 2tb forcing you to buy at £700 which could have been £600 easily at 1tb and given you the buyer the option of buying more money if you wish.
They made it disc less, so you have that option.
Though they don’t want you to buy a disc drive really.
So why not with the memory, total business greed strategy.

Definitely performance mode every time.
If a game is only 30fps I don’t buy it, I know but 30fps is so blurry when panning around it looks horrible now a days compared to a good 60fps.

Also I have a Sony TV and I’m sure it does a better job when upscaling to its 4K screen and makes up a little for the lack of native 4K or drop in resolution when in 60fps mode.

That’s why I wonder actually what the PS5 Pro is going to give me.

You are spot on there with what you say.
The PS4 would not have been the amazing console and games and the back end of the PS3, if it had not been for the xbox360.

My gripe is Sony could have gone with 1tb at £600 in the UK, and let us make the memory upgrade if required. Just like they did with disc add on.

Interesting how Digital Foundry now all is revealed still believe GTA 6 will be 30fps on PS5 Pro barring something hidden in the console we don’t know about.

This is what happens when you have cornered the market with little competition around.

Shall we blame Xbox for putting their games on PS5 and almost leaving the console market, especially in Europe.

This is absolutely true in UK.
I have just checked my regular stores I use and they selling like crazy and some are totally out of stock.
Like hundreds selling in the last 24 hours.

And we think the PS5 Pro, won’t sell.

I have Sony mini led x95l 65” and the upscaling and motion control settings using the Switch have outstanding results.

Also the best tv program upscaled and motion smoothing I have ever seen.

Not sure what to do.
Really need digital foundry to get hold of one and test a few upgrade games.

My TV a Sony and when using my Switch and set correctly fine turning etc.
The Switch looks better and is very smooth a sort of switch 1.5. It’s amazing what a top end tv can do with the settings fine tuned.

At no point did they say full native 4K at 60fps at the quality of fidelity mode.

So basically probably some fancy upscaling for £700, that’s a bit steep really.

It’s going to be fancy up scaling for the time being.
Maybe when Sony finally release a new big AAA with the Pro in mind we might get native 4K 60fps, but might come with cut backs.

For £700 I want true native 4K 60fps with all the bells and whistles of the quality mode as well.

What was interesting when they showed these games running.

For the £700 they did not actually say look at last of us 2 remastered. Running at full native 4K at 60fps with all bells and whistles.

They never said that, just kept it all smoke and mirrors with quality and performance modes.

Just tells us, is it running full native 4K at 60fps Sony.

Well played those games I wanted to so I’m not playing them again.

Now we know we can expand the memory that is good.

That is the only reason I’m pissed about the whole thing, not giving us the choice and making the price cheaper.

That’s is my point. For £700 you want the best the game can possibly run but if a developer doesn’t take full advantage you are left with an over priced PS5 or Xbox series x.

Not the upgrade I was looking for.
I play at 60fps modes all games that have it.
But also I’m sure my TV a top Sony really helps to upscale to 4K, of course not native.

Can’t see how this £700 machine is going to improve things that much.

It’s the forced 2tb adding the money

It was wrong to make it 2tb. That added about £100 to the cost.

It should have been 1tb and let you decided to expand memory or not.

They are forcing you to buy at a higher cost.
