Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Gran Turismo 7 Laps Elden Ring in Europe as Horizon Falls Off a Cliff

@Titntin I completely agree with you.

FromSoft clearly doesn't completely understand open world yet, so they fell into some pitfalls that other companies fell in the past. But the game's highs are so high that we're able to look past the flaws.

The timing is a shame. I had a blast with Zero Dawn and I'm sure Forbidden West is another amazing game, let's hope it has long legs.

Re: Sony Quietly Shaping Up After Indie Backlash Earlier in the Year

I think Sony is generally very quick to adapt to the changes of the market. Even their "failed console" the PS3 ended up selling more than the Xbox 360 at the end of it's generation because they saw the criticisms of the consumers and adapted to it.

The PS5 even though had a strong start had a rocky beginning content wise, I think they're clever enough to identify what's popular and change their focus so the PS5 remains competitive against Nintendo and Microsoft.

@Bismarck True with the wall of text, So I'll keep it short. Yes a good chunk of the story makes sense and it is overall better than TLOU, but the ending spoiled most of the experience to me. But I can see from your point of view where you consider TLOU 2 to have superior storytelling.

Re: Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann to Present at The Game Awards

@Bismarck I think it's superior when it comes to gameplay, story wise I disagree. It's true that it has surprises but I don't think they add to the story, they mostly appear just to be shocking.
I don't think being more unpredictable makes a story better. A good example is The Last Jedi, a film full of twists that don't feel earned. But let me be clear that I don't think TLOU 2 has a plot as bad as the Last Jedi, I just felt like it was trying too hard to shock.

The Last of Us II is the proof of how far behind Hollywood the video game industry is when it comes to writing. If it was released as a movie it would be subpar at best, with several contrived plot points yet some people think it's a masterpiece in storytelling. Also the gameplay is absolutely nothing to write home about.

Neil Druckmann is not very likable in interviews too, but at least no accusations about anything horrible being done by him.

I'm not a fan of him or his writing but it could be worse.

Re: Video: Why Skyrim Is Still the Ultimate Open World Fantasy RPG, 10 Years Later

Yes the ultimate open world. Hundreds of quests that have bugs making it impossible to complete, every dungeon looks the same, same 10 voice actors for every person in the kingdom, weak main story, repetitive quests, boring quests, the world looks drab and lifeless.

It is without a question the game where people are the blindest about its faults. It's a mediocre game wrapped in a pretty bow of production value.

Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed

No, I mean Bethesda. They had these horrible practices way before Microsoft bought them. If Microsoft is going to enable them or not is something we're going to see over the next years, but I agree that this "Anniversary Edition" is not a good sign of things to come.

Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed

Bethesda is now definitely on the top 5 greediest video game developers.
£48 for what's barely an upgrade on one of the buggiest triple A games of its generation.
And my money is on them not fixing most of these bugs (which are so hard to fix that modders have done it years ago)
