@jFug I get the feeling WB didn't want an Injustice game at the same time as another "evil superman" game in Suicide Squad. Therefore I guess their only option was MK12 for now?
I was willing to spend £240 on this. Even though I thought that was too expensive in itself. I think I lost my breath when I saw how much it ended up being. Considering it's not even coming with much. Suppose it's no surprise as the square enix store models are an excess of £150 alone. Still doesn't justify the price point.
Unfortunately, I'm not surprised either considering how money hungry Square Enix has become.
Let's just accept the fact that the Square Enix of old is simply gone. No more will they produce great titles like Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. No more will we get full JRPG releases like Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts II and Final Fantasy XII. They're gone, and they're not coming back. They have become too money hungry and greedy.
The only reason this publisher is considering this a "mistake" is simply because they've realised that they could have potentially charged for the upgrade. Unfortunately the damage has been done and there is everlasting proof of that promise. They absolutely need to honour that free upgrade.
I'm glad for this, Stranger of Paradise has difficulty modes and it feels a little disjointed in terms of difficulty sometimes. But not having difficulty options means that it can be carefully tweaked and catered to a specific design. Ends up much stronger for it in my opinion.
@Kairu if people are stating that there is demand for something, business sense would be to supply that demand. Especially if the demand is high. I'm sure most Bloodborne players would pay full price to experience 4K 60fps and additional visual filters. Etc. It's not entitlement. But people are showing that there is demand.
I like having Platinums, I see it as a "completion" list. Or rather games I've enjoyed more than others to an extent. It's satisfying but not without annoyances. I currently have 69 Platinums, working on number 70 but I keep getting distracted by different games lately.
I think there are multiple factors really. But the biggest one is that it's now easier than ever to watch these streams. They are available in multiple different languages.
Finally, gaming is more popular now than it ever has been. I miss how United the gaming front used to be, whilst also being competitive.
I love Final Fantasy VII. It is my favourite game of all time. I have it tattooed on my body. Proudly.
When I first played Remake, I was on the verge of tears for a lot of it. It was amazing to see everything realised so beautifully, and the music (oh the music) was amazing. The the end came, and confusion set in. It was simultaneously satisfying and unsatisfying.
I played it twice to get the Platinum and a further time when it released on PS5.
However each time I play it the experience gets worse. As Robert said above: the hallways and restricted movement are unbearable on repeat playthroughs. The forced corridors (which were clearly and I believe popularly used to hide loading screens) were used far too often. Too much padding in places that didn't need it. In the service of a story that is so far changing things for the sake of it. I still believe a 1:1 remake with slightly adjusted scenes/ areas would've been better.
The combat however is fantastic. I wish more characters were playable and the world more open though.
I'll definitely have the CRT filter on, I just hope it actually works. Some implementations via emulation have had me left wanting. I'm surprised they don't attempted another form of filter like a snowy/grainy CRT filter as well. I'm really hoping all my psone games can be played. I would love to finally play Suikoden!
@BartoxTharglod I bought it on release as I wanted the collectors Steelbook (I collect Final Fantasy steelbooks) but I haven't started it yet either. I'm also starting to avoid playing most games on release because games always improve after release now. It's unfortunate.
Honestly the fact they didn't call these tiers Silver, Gold and Platinum is a missed opportunity and I'm still confused as to which tiers are which. It should be simple for people to immediately tell which tier would give the most value based on the name alone. Though on second thought I can imagine they would maybe want to avoid PlayStation Plus Gold as it would sound too similar to Xbox Live Gold. Who knows! But they still could've done something abit more intuitive.
@Uromastryx I've tried to get into Valhalla so many times. I've platinumed Odyssey and I plan to Platinum Origins once the 60fps mode is out. But for Valhalla- I get bored. The game never got better than Norway to me.
I think it's just simply crazy that they were going to release the PROLOGUE in June of last year, and it's still not ready? I'm starting to think that they were going to abandon it but because of the publicity on Sony's platform Sony haven't let them.
@Would_you_kindly how is it not worth it for £8? Seriously they could've charged far more and people would've still bought it. £8 for 4K, 60fps and Raytracing options. Absolutely worth it regardless of anyone's taste the value for money is insane. Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance is an older game costing £24.99 currently. Compare that to what GTAV is costing for the fairly substantial upgrade.
I'm really liking that ubisoft are updating their games to retroactively support 60fps. It's good of them to carry on supporting older games to make them the best experiences possible. Still waiting on Assassins Creed Origins!
I'll pick it up for maybe £25/30 down the line. I've got so many games in the backlog, I genuinely think I'll never get round to them. At this rate seeing 2023 at the end of a trailer is a sight for sore eyes.
I've finally beat the game recently but the only two trophies I'm missing is killing Sean in level 2 "the club" (this trophy has bugged out on me annoyingly) and I'm missing the "beat the game aged 25 or under" I'm currently on the last level aged 25. So I either cannot die on the last boss or I have to keep trying to get younger.
I think the biggest issue is the lack of it as an option. It feels very "it's our way or no way" I wouldn't mind if I could unpin it, but the fact I can't is a big no. They should tie it into the storefront.
That's great! Surprised they used Red XIII though considering the amount of time he's in the game. I imagine Clouds buster sword or Barretts gun or Tifas... Fists would stick out the screen really well!
