Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Racing Games

Scollurio

Gran Turismo Sport is REALLY REALLY good. Don't listen to critics. Give it a whirl. Physics are as good as ever, its far more approachable and if you're not that much into multiplayer online racing (which is really good at keeping you away from ramming idiots thanks to the sportsmanship rating) there's always arcade mode where you can tinker your own race, even if its 99 laps around Nürburgring with degrading tires and the need to GAS UP in many many pitstops. Lovely.

Re: Quantic Dream 'Surprised' by Allegations About Studio Culture

Let the court's do their job. I'm so sick of the social media witch hunts. Kevin Spacey anyone? Regardless if the accusations hold any truth, it's not for the angry mob on FACEBOOK to decide and ultimately destroy his career but the court's. I'm so sick of this kind of movement seeping over from the US affirmative-action-feminist-ultraleftwing-thoughtpolice crowd to europe. Have allegations? Press a charge. Done. It's what we pay tax for.

Re: Burnout Paradise Remaster Rumours Strengthen as Japan Gets a PS4 Release Date

Scollurio

I really wished they'd remaster or even better yet bring a sequel to BLUR. It was mad fun, I so loved it, unfortunately it got sucked up by "Split Second" as they released roughly at the same time and shared the same demographic. Bizarre Creations shut doors after Blur, which is a shame. But yes, Burnout Paradise City, if it has a drop-in and drop-out multiplayer intact and everything's working smoothly, I'd go to paradise city again. Loved it the first time round.

Mark my words: Downfall of AAA Gaming Industry incoming. In another year or two the big ones, all being on the stock market, will crumble. Indies will rise and fill the gaps, approach AAA quality and budgets and the circle repeats again, until some moron in the US, russia, north korea or elsewhere in the "developed world" pushes a button and sends us all to hell.

Re: Sony Goes All-In on Monster Hunter: World Audio Merch in Japan

Scollurio

It all looks nice, but really? Wireless speaker? I wonder if it can connect to a PS4. The headphones, are they HEADSETS (i.e. with a mic) or just HEADPHONES. And the walkman. Really? I mean. I get it. The brand is pure nostalgia and it looks like a fine device and I get the hype about all that hires stuff okay, but really? Do people even care anymore about a standalone player? I had a hires player and listened to flacs exclusively a while back and YES they do sound better (IF you have a nice device AND good expensive headphones) but nothing beats the CONVENIENCE of iTunes on iPhone and Bose wireless sport in ears. The 10% difference in clarity, not worth it for me.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Likely Be Rife with Microtransactions

Scollurio

I'll wait and see. I thought the system in GTA V was a good compromise. Make everything in GTA online achievable with ingame work, jobs and credits. Offer bullshark cards for the boost in ingame cash. But if this is all about micro transactions, I'm out. Voting with my wallet since this year, making it even more of a habit the next. Only bought 4 games this year.

Re: Microsoft May Bring First-Party Franchises to PlayStation in the Future

Scollurio

Don't say this will never happen. You know what just DID happen? INTEL and AMD building processors TOGETHER. 8th gen Kabylake R from Intel with integrated graphics chipset from AMD with hyperfast memory bus. Boom Shakalaka. No one thought this would ever happen, but it does. New Hardware expected early 2018. It's basically an Intel chip with amd integrated graphics giving performance 3x of the Intel HD and Iris graphics.

Re: EA Moving to More Monetisable Open World Games

Scollurio

With the exception of Battlefield 1 I'm boycotting EA and will continue to do so. Same with Ubisoft, only got Wildlands (but sold it again). I'm really done with everything "over the top monetized". I can't even stand most hollywood movies anymore. Arthouse and Indie it is. Or Books. I like books.

Re: A New PlayStation Vita? The Ridiculously Stupid E3 Rumours Have Begun

Scollurio

@get2sammyb I don't post here THAT frequently anymore so I don't know if we all have potential for a verbal 3rd world war or something... So as long as we are STILL on the save side, I'm glad and feel secure!

That said, I personally value an interesting discussion with many different people sharing their views more than staying a 100% on topic! And we are not THAT far off topic, because if we somehow could verify a VALID reason for Sony to go into the handheld business again, the rumours suddenly might hold some truth instead of just some wishful thinking no?

Re: A New PlayStation Vita? The Ridiculously Stupid E3 Rumours Have Begun

Scollurio

You are ALL not seeing the obvious solution here. Sony needs to make a Smartphone, similar to its current phones in size but beef it up with power and give it (although in a bit smaller) joyconstyle controllers to attack on the sides on it to play all android games with it. That's strike 1. Strike 2 is: bundle it with a little receiver with hdmi out so you can wirelessly stream the content you play to a TV. Since most phone displays are FULL HD or even MORE anyways, pushing the pixels on a normal FULL HD TV won't be any problem. Strike 3: Now get some first party people to make android-compatible games and put them onto the google play store. That way you dive into the mobile market same as Nintendo is doing AND have THE BEST "console phone hybrid" to play them on AND transmit it to anything with an HDMI-IN. Simple. Something with the power of an "old" iphone 6S is powerful enough to run all triple A android games in FULL HD most of the time in 60 fps even. So. It's not impossible. Charge 499 for it and win. My idea, so I want a cut of 10%!

Re: Video: Sony Must Not Allow PlayStation VR to Wilt

Scollurio

VR is dead on arrival. You heard it here first.
VR has a chance if: it's technically matured, lightweight and wireless and affordable (around 250). Also I feel like VR should be a standalone device. Computer and everything IN the headset or at least content streamed to it wirelessly maybe even through your TV and such VR experiences should be actual "channels" on the TV or netflix or whatever. Of course that's a long way off. Before VR reaches maturity we'll all be dust in the wake of WW3. Just my predictions.

Re: Hardware Review: Is the Razer Raiju the PS4's True Pro Controller?

Scollurio

I've had several peripherals from Razer over the years. I can now say that they're overhyped mediocre products with poor quality control. I take care of my stuff (even keep the boxes in case I want to sell them a few years down the road and then they look still like new). But I had a Tournament Controller for the Xbox 360 fail on me (buttons got stuck) after only a few weeks, a keyboard and mouse combo have software issues due to driver problems and a headset emitting a constant humming sound when the mic was on.

No thanks. Not for that price.
