@Skeletor85 - That's awesome, Alan wrote 6 Alex Casey books all of which are on his bookshelf during the snowstorm scene in his apartment during AW1, that in itself felt like a full on nod to Max Payne. Not played AW2 yet but damn, now knowing Alex is in there is nuts! The way Remedy fill in their interconnected universe is just superb.

I'll grab the free primos but I've fallen off Genshin since HSR released. Not just the new shiny aspect but Fontaine absolutely killed my interest in Genshin. I detest swimming levels in any game.

That aside the general systems are far better in HSR. Need boss mats? Kill that same boss x3 times a week, want a crit relic? Shape it etc. As a live service game there's no reason whatsoever that Genshin can't implement even the most basic QoL stuff that HSR has over it.

Nope, console revisions have always been priced lower than OG hardware, I get it has a larger SSD but that cost has dropped too. Modern Sony are like PS3 Sony, their hubris is off the charts.

@LifeGirl Hardly a step backwards considering Juliet predates Ellie and as @rachetmarvel said, some of us just like to see pretty girls in games. Pretty girls aside, it's a fun game as opposed to the absolute misery porn of TLoU2.

@ATaco - Use your first 50 pulls on the discount banner and then forget about gacha. You'll get a guaranteed 5* unit from it and everything else you get there is a bonus. The free 4* units the game gives you will carry you for a long time.

As a day one Genshin player with well over 1000hrs played, I can tell you for a fact that these Hoyoverse games are not P2W, they rely on FOMO. Avoid falling into that trap, invest in the units you have been given and you can't go wrong.

Had every intention of not touching this as I'm already well over a thousand hours into Genshin but I've recently quit Destiny 2 so I need something to fill that gap. Hate gacha but love what Hoyo make. I'm in!

Would rather see Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf get the remake treatment from Infogrames catalogue of old games.

I just beat the Malum area boss so still a long way to go but it's a solid 8 so far. Discoverd a weird exploit, I'll be vague to avoid spoilers but if you quit after picking from a certain unmissable tree, close the game fully and then resume activity. It will reset the timer so you can instantly pick from it again. Highly strange!

@awp69 - The Xbox version got this patch about 2 weeks ago.

@W0rl0ck - Day one is an unknown quantity. Sony knew they were padding their service with proven trash.

@Powerplay94 - Payday 3 came to GP because MS stumped up some cash, just like Sony did to put Payday: The Heist and Payday 2 onto PS Plus back in the day and they were generally crap too. Neither service is exempt from offering stinkers.

Have to wonder if MS and Sony knew this was coming and raised their subscription prices because of it. There are an awful lot of Unity based games on both services and that per install tax bill has to be paid by the service provider where those games are part of the subscriptions they offer.

@sonicmeerkat - It was included in the PS3 and 4 versions also.
Resi 5 and 6 for PS4 had all DLC included too, though its a stretch to call Separate Ways DLC as it was always part of the base game excluding the Gamecube release. 'Next Gen' tax I guess.

@rjejr - Nice to see people happy to pay extra for Separate Ways even though it was always included in the PS2/3/4 versions.

@themcnoisy - The rep system is kind of redundant. You basically just play the game as you would anyway and everything earns rep. FWIW I'm around 10 hours or so in and haven't encountered a single bug or fallen through the floor. Playing on XSX.

@naruball - I guess you knee-jerked past the point where I clearly mention Sony putting Spider-Man on PC.

@General_Disarray - You know as well as I that we're dealing with anecdotals here but after GW Tokyo and Deathloop do you doubt it? Timed or otherwise Sony wanted Starfield one way or another and pissed on their chips trying for it.

@Rols - And Spider-Man could have sold more had it released on Xbox. Between Xbox and PC Starfield is doing just fine. As did Spider-Man between PS and PC.

@roe Boxing has fallen off a cliff? Not sure about that take. As for a new boxing game while it's not a new Fight Night, Undisputed is on the horizon for a PS5 release. It's early access version is available on Steam and looks to be shaping up nicely.

@themcnoisy - It's all good mate. I fully get where you're coming from with actual early access and this recent push of buy X edition to play Y days early. It stinks.

I remember the outrage of Square Enix trying it on with the 'Augment your Pre-Order' nonsense with Deus Ex Mankind Divided and really believed that practice would die on the vine back then. Unfortunately people are idiots and enjoy being parted from their cash to play something a few days early.

That said we'll have to agree to disagree on Starfield's release date. It was announced to be on September 6th a good while ago and that's the date it enters GP regardless of so called early access. Take it easy mate and we'll both hopefully enjoy the game, late or otherwise!

@SaviorNot - If/when the Acti deal goes ahead they instantly break even by adding a company value of $69 billion to their overall portfolio, it's not an outgoing cost they suddenly lose or need to recoup overnight.

As for their GP model being unsustainable, the truth is only they know the actual numbers and GP has been around for 6 years now so MS clearly believe it is sustainable and profitable.

@themcnoisy - I didn't insult your intelligence, I know you're not that stupid. You know full well that the standard edition which is the GP version, doesn't release until September 6th.

By your logic I should be complaining to ShopTo for delaying the delivery of my standard physical copy by 5 days. The fact of the matter, regardless of paid early access, is that the actual release date is September 6th and no amount of mental gymnastics will change that.

@themcnoisy - How is it day 6? The game is available to GP subs on day one of it entering the service. Playing early is available to anyone that bought the Special Edition, just like dozens of other games available to preorder right now on the PSN store that offer early access with higher priced editions. You're choosing to see a limitation that doesn't exist, because Microsoft.

@Neverwild - How are they lying? The game will be playable on day one of it entering the Game Pass service. The 5 day early access period is for those that purchased the Premium Edition or the Premium Edition upgrade. The Forza series has done the exact same thing for years.

Remember when Jack Tretton stood on a stage in front of the world and said every PS4 game will have a demo? That was a lie.

@Powerplay94 - Why shouldn't Starfield tap into that market? Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, every EA game, Baldur's Gate 3 and pretty much every modern AAA all have this 'early access' nonsense. It's an industry norm nowadays.

@OneWingedAngel - A very quick search shows multiple sources stating MS are pulling in $3+ billion yearly from Game Pass. Those are figures from 2021/2.

Having a bit of an Indie binge. I've become weirdly addicted to Dysmantle over the past week so I'll likely be on that all day, got The Ascent platinum the other day so I'll play through the DLC for that tomorrow then probably make a start on Outward. Have a good weekend all!

Is this actually confirmed outside of the NL video? I don't doubt Konami would do the bare minimum but it was only last week that RDR was an untouched 720p port that ended up being 4K.

Genshin Impact mainly, haven't really played for a while so I have a mission or two to finish in the final Sumeru area and then I'll head to Fontaine. I managed to get my Kazuha to c2 on his last banner so I'm looking forward to giving him a run out.

Besides that I'm still on the horrendous collectible hunt in Hogwarts Legacy, a great game that's absolutely ruined by the wholly unnecessary padding of picking up pointless stuff.

The £8 investment I made for the Xbox BC version a few sales ago was a wise choice.

@FatalBubbles - Genshin has a huge story to play through but it isn't finished yet and won't be complete for a long while yet. There are 7 main regions in the game world with each region expanding the story and Fontaine will be the 5th region added so far.

Either Gotham Knights or Hogwarts Legacy, finished and really enjoyed both games but I'm now at the collect all collectibles stage on both of them for the platinums. Collectible trophies need to die in a fire!

Going to put a few hours into my Cyberpunk 2077 Lucy run and make a start on Gotham Knights. I played the one hour trial and really enjoyed it so I snagged a cheap disc copy for £15, looking forward to getting stuck in. Have a good weekend all!

Cyberpunk 2077, playing the PS4 version on PS5 which holds up surprisingly well. Put together a fem V 'Lucy' build, crit monowire absolutely wrecks, great fun. Have a good weekend all!

@NinjaNicky - Surprised you never heard of it as the avatar was made available the same day as the game launched on PS3, it was a day one release on PS Plus.
