@Relygon - Heh, I know that only too well mate. Luckily I'm a Ganyu main so I had hundreds of Wanderer's Troupe to choose from just by killing world bosses. Did my fair share of Domain farming too though.
Got a bunch of characters I still need to build and farm for but my old team of Ganyu, Xiangling, Bennett and Zhongli are still holding up well so I'm just enjoying playing all the new (to me) story stuff. The grind can wait!
After well over a year off I'm back on Genshin Impact. I rinsed it to the point that there was nothing whatsoever left to do so it's great to come back and have some actual content to go at with Chasm and Inazuma. Playing the PS5 version too which is a massive improvement over the original release. Good stuff.
Over on XSX I picked up the complete edition of AC Origins for £9 so I'll probably check that out tomorrow. Have a good weekend all!
@RobN - Another vote for Unity here, took a while for Ubi to knock it into shape post release but it's well worth playing. As mentioned already it still looks incredibly good and for me it has the best parkour system and assassin toolkit in the whole series. Excellent game.
@Flaming_Kaiser - Totally agree mate, Genshin is absolute cancer if you get sucked into the gatcha. I've seen people blow upwards of $5000 trying to get a 5* weapon and fail to get what they wanted. Granted they were youtubers who made the money back in views but I can only imagine how badly it's wrecked the bank balances of some regular Joe's with gambling issues.
Having a bit of a shmup session on PS5 with some Geometry Wars 3 and Nex Machina. Over on XSX I discovered I have the complete edition of Watch Dogs from the WD Legion season pass.
Haven't played this since it launched on PS4 and apparently it now runs at 60fps on the XSX so I'll be donning Aiden's iconic hat and heading back to Chicago for some wonky driving. Have a good weekend all!
@mrbone - Interesting, perhaps it's a different requirement on PC but it's definitely the case on console. I moved house last year and had no issues playing offline for 8 days while I had no internet.
@mrbone - Sorry mate but that's incorrect. You can play GP games without internet for 30 days as long as it's on your home designated Xbox. After that you need to connect to reacquire the licence.
If you've had a PS+ sub for any length of time it's a fairly redundant list, that said I will never drop £70 on any Sony game so Demon's Souls and Returnal have more than covered my sub cost. As a knock on effect the addition of those games to a service will greatly devalue the price of the physical copies so I can pick those up for peanuts down the road.
@thefourfoldroot1 - MVG put a video out suggesting all these older games will have trophies due to them being repackaged and having to pass certification, a mandatory requirement of which is trophy support.
Death Stranding Director's Cut. Absolutely loved this the first time around, I'm only a few chapters in so haven't got to the new content yet, still a bit salty that the PS4 didn't get it but the upgrade was only £5 so I'll let it slide I guess.
Over on XSX I'll be finishing up Quantum Break, I'm about halfway through and really enjoying it. I had no idea that Courtney Hope (Control's Jesse) was in it, very cool finding references to that game in this one even though they're years apart.
@BReal - The audio mix was patched months ago. Everything else you mentioned is purely subjective. It's fine to not like something, fill your boots, but to say it's a bad remaster is completely untrue.
@BReal - In what universe is a 4K 60fps remaster of Alan Wake considered a demaster? The original is barely 540p and runs at a frame rate in the mid 20's.
There is no single player only portion, it's just the same as it always was. It's the complete package with both SP and MP included. Only the MP has a standalone version.
@Apfelschteiner - What's really crazy is that FF7 sold 10 million on the PS1 when piracy was absolutely rampant on that system. Every person I knew that owned a PS1 had it chipped.
@F1at8mot0 - Thanks mate, really looking forward to getting stuck into it. Played and enjoyed every other Remedy game so I'm pretty certain it won't disappoint.
@Relygon - Yeah I guess it takes some adjusting coming from PC. I'm a lifelong console peasant so I'm just used to 30fps being the norm for a lot of games. Some of my favourite games like Zelda OoT and Shadow of the Colossus barely managed 15fps!
@Relygon - Yeah I've heard it's really good. I don't mind 30fps as long as it's a good game. I played through Sable on XSX recently and loved it even though that barely hit 10fps so I'm sure I'll cope lol.
Having a bit of a Remedy blowout. Playing Control Ultimate Edition on PS5, I played it at launch on PS4 Pro and enjoyed it enough, in spite of it being a bit of a broken mess but it's amazing on PS5, totally different experience.
Over on XSX I've got Quantum Break lined up for tomorrow. Never played this even though I had an XBO I just didn't get around to it so looking forward to giving it a go. Have a good weekend all!
7/10 is generous for a combat based game with abysmal combat. It feels generally unfinished, there's zero weight to it and the input lag is shocking at times. Also, who's idea was it to make a B&W game with white subtitles and no option to letterbox them? Ridiculous.
I assume they got the Fear Effect IP as part of the deal. Would love to see a new entry in that series, the first two games were amazing back in the day.
Hopefully we get more Deus Ex, Thief and maybe a Soul Reaver now SE won't be letting those IP rot. Weird timing though, selling TR a few weeks after a new game was announced.
Well I hammered it all week and earned my 100th platinum with AC Odyssey so I'm putting that to bed for a while. Think I'll play something a bit shorter. Probably hit my backlog and murder some robots on Vanquish. Have a good weekend all!
Glad it sold well but as a huge fan of the series I think it's pretty meh overall. The combat system is top tier, as it should be. With that said, the enemies and bosses are completely forgettable and most of the level design is straight up atrocious.
Character design isn't great either. New Nero is pretty good but Trish and Lady look like a pair of junkies and Dante looks like a subway tramp. The less said about V the better.
@Relygon - Hah, I know it sounds mad but I actually started Odyssey on PS4 and gave up on it because the horrific load times completely ruined the game for me, I have a save file from 2019 that's 40% done trophy wise (main game, excluding dlc) so it won't take too long for the platinum.
My Xbox run clocked in at exactly 190 hours but I went all the way to level 99 and cleaned up every single thing in the game, this time it'll just be 100% trophy completion.
@Lavalera - Go for it, I don't replay many games on both systems but I have a few that I've done, short stuff like Bayonetta and Mark of the Ninja. Rarely would I play a 100+ hour game again. Right with you on Odyssey, AC Brotherhood and Unity were my favourites until ACO came along.
Some might remember I recently got 100% completion on AC Odyssey which I did on Series X. Well, Stockholm syndrome has kicked in and I miss Kassandra so I've decided to do it all over again on the PS5 and earn my 100th platinum trophy. Have a good weekend all!
Just got the Cyberpunk 2077 plat and I'm sorely tempted to fire up the PS4 version and do it all over again. Absolutely brilliant game! However, I think I'll wait a while and play some Uncharted 4 remastered and maybe a bit of Split Second. Have a good weekend all!
Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) Judy Alvarez never looked so good! Elden Ring is up there but regardless of the incredible world design it's just another Souls game and DkS1 still holds the crown there.
@DnBSkillz - Ninja Theory weren't always Playstation. Their first game Kung Fu Chaos as was an Xbox exclusive and after that they made Heavenly Sword for Sony. Everything else they did until MS acquired them was on iOS, Oculus or multi platform.
@naruball - It doesn't necessarily force you to buy anything but for the endgame Spiral Abyss content you'll need 2 teams of maxed out or near maxed characters and certain 5* characters can make it much easier.
It can absolutely be done without them though and you'll definitely get a couple of 5* characters for free with the amount of gems you earn in-game.
However, the game does thrive on character FOMO and falling into the gatcha trap is ridiculously expensive. To 100% guarantee a single 5* from gatcha will cost £178.
"Warfame can be a bit difficult to penetrate these days, if you're a total newcomer"
Couldn't disagree more with that statement. Warfame has never been easier to get into than it is now. I've put 1000's of hours into the PS version from launch day when it was absolutely obtuse.
I started a new account on Xbox recently and it's amazing how different the beginner experience is now with proper tutorials and a codex that explains everything you will ever need to know. It's as easy to get to grips with as any other game out there.
@freddquadros - I actually started it on the Series S just before the update came out but I didn't find it to be buggy at all, though I didn't get too far in before I gave that console to my niece. I'm playing the PS5 version now but I've since picked up a Series X. Once I'm done here I'll carry on with that playthrough lol.
@ApostateMage - Yeah I can see Hanako waiting around for a similar amount of time for me. I sort of beelined the critical path then turned my attention to everything else once I got the point of no return warning.
Cyberpunk 2077. Had the final main story mission sat waiting for about 20 hours but I'm cleaning up everything else beforehand. I known this game gets a lot of deserved hate but I absolutely love it, really hope we get some significant DLC down the line. Have a good weekend all!
Sweet, was hoping Werewolf would pop up on here or GP. One of those janky filler games I'd never buy but perfect for these services. Look forward to playing it.
