Re: Mini Review: Ebenezer and the Invisible World (PS4) - Gorgeous Metroidvania Burdened by (Bah Hum)bugs

ThunderStashGaming

Man, this game looked really cool. I played WrestleQuest on day 1 and literally ran into all of that same cons that were listed for this game. I couldn’t progress due to soft locks and bugs and I wasn’t the only one, everyone in the Reddit group had the same issues. The game is apparently all fixed now and I do plan to eventually return to it but completely unacceptable to release games in this poor of a state.

Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster Seems to Be Real

ThunderStashGaming

I’m sure it will be re-released at a premium. I played through it on my PS5 at 60FPS and truly do not feel it needs a full priced PS5 version but that’s the age we’re in right now. You know they want SKU’s for Part 1 and 2 on the PS5 before they come out with Season 2 and before they announce Part 3. IMO that will be the inevitable timeline of events.

Re: Another Nail in E3's Coffin as Events Collaboration Falls Through

ThunderStashGaming

I’m just glad I got to go to E3 one time and that I did it right and partied the whole time we were there. I have nostalgia for E3 since I’ve followed it since it’s inception in 95’ so part of me would like to see it be successfully rebooted but then another part of me says that Geoff has things under control with SGF and that having a huge show like E3 really isn’t as necessary as it once use to be thanks to the technology we have today. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I still have my unplayed preordered copy of CyberPunk, awaiting the day for it to finally be optimal to play. Of course now that the time has come, I don’t know if I’ll have the time to play it right when it comes out with so many new games to play and review. The game release calendar finally starts to ease up a little bit in December but then of course it’s the Holidays. Either way, I’m looking forward to finally playing this game in peak form.

Re: PS2 Games Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 Will Be Just 720p on PS5, PS4

ThunderStashGaming

With that news I’ll just stick with my PS3 MGS Legacy Collection. Sadly, Konami is not the same company we grew up with and hasn’t been for awhile now but this just further solidifies their direction. I suppose this is now for the new Gamers that don’t have access to older systems. I wonder how much interest they will even have in trying out a dormant franchise they likely know little to nothing about… 🤔

Re: Anticipated RPG Sea of Stars Goes Gold Ahead of PS Plus Extra Launch Next Month

ThunderStashGaming

I helped Kickstart this game a few years ago and couldn't be more excited to finally play this game! I've read all the Kickstarter/Developer updates as soon as I receive them like it's a new Nintendo Power arriving in the mail. Yasunori Mitsuda who composed the majority of the OST for Chrono Trigger joined the Sea of Stars team to work as a guest composer which is pretty big deal!

Re: Preview: Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Is the PS5 RPG You've Always Wanted

ThunderStashGaming

I preordered Cyberpunk along with the steelbook and have still yet to play it. I didn’t play it initially because I had other games I could play while CDPR worked on fixing the game. Then of course life happens and we all get busy. It’s now the Summer of 2023 and it just so happens to be one of the craziest years in gaming. I would love to finally find the time to play it even with my gaming schedule being pretty much jam packed!

Re: Sony's Portable PS5 Streaming Handheld Launches Later This Year

ThunderStashGaming

I have PS Premium and streaming PS3 games is a poor experience. I bought a backbone and sadly it's been a poor experience. I've literally tried it in the same room as my PS5 and Router, tried Ethernet cables and the remote play still lags and/or says it has 'poor signal'. If this device can't fix that it, I see no point in buying this. Will save my money for the eventual Switch 2.

Re: 23 Games Hit PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week in Big Update

ThunderStashGaming

I played the Humanity Beta on my Youtube Channel and really enjoyed it. Very clever game that really makes you use your brain to solve the puzzles. Stoked we are getting it for free and overall great lineup this month! For anyone who hasn't played Tomb Raider, all 3 are amazing games. I've yet to replay it on the PS5 but Shadow Of The Tomb Raider has a 60FPS Patch Upgrade that was added back in August 21'!

Re: $70 Games Could Be Hurting PS5, PS4 Sales, But There's More to the Story

ThunderStashGaming

39 million is a big number but I'd be interested in seeing Nintendo and Xbox's sales to see the entire picture. I agree in that I believe it to be attributed to the overall state of the economy. I work in finance here in the US. Overall DTI, Credit Card balance and delinquency rates have all skyrocketed in the last couple of years, let alone the last 6-12 months which have been abysmal. During Covid, videogames were discovered by many for the first time or people rediscovered their love for videogames. Naturally, numbers would drop off when the world went back to normal but in reality it hasn't went back to normal because we're experiencing some of the worst inflation in US history and most don't even believe the current reported inflation rate to be true and accurate. Now, we add in the higher priced games and many people are reevaluating how and when they spend their money. People are asking themselves do I really need to play this game on day 1 or can I wait until Black Friday and score the game for $20-30 bucks? Do I have games in my backlog that I can play and wait for these new games I want to go on sale in an effort to stretch my dollar further? From what I've gathered, many are doing just that. We'll always have our games that we pick up on day 1 like Zelda or God Of War but in reality, most can wait.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Care About a PS5 Remote Play Handheld?

ThunderStashGaming

In order for me to purchase it would need to be completely lag free. Currently I can be in the same room as my PS5 and remote play is completely unstable. For me, the remote play experience is actually worse than streaming PS3 games on the PS Premium service and unfortunately they are practically unplayable. Fingers crossed it's something cool that would work. If it's like the Wii U Gamepad I would be interested if the price is not atrocious.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

ThunderStashGaming

@huyi Hi Huyi, I did not say that. I said every game I’ve bought I keep because I love video games. Meaning any game I bought, I played it and beat it and never traded it in. Each game is a memory to me. I’ve been playing video games since 1988. I still have all my regular Nintendo games. I keep them because I still play them. God forbid if I lost my job, had to get an emergency surgery, maybe had to pay for a family funeral and I didn’t have the money, I could always sell my video game collection if I absolutely had to. Does that make sense? Any game I’ve bought, I’ve played and beat. If it’s a super limited game, I may buy the physical version and purchase the digital version. Doing stuff like that really helps to support the game developers and keep the gaming community thriving. Hopefully all of this makes sense my friend. I am just an old man who loves to play video games and am not looking for any sort of internet quarrels. God bless Huyi.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

ThunderStashGaming

@huyi I look at it as somewhat of a future grail game given the limited quantity/availability of the title. Sort of like ripping open a pack of cards and pulling a Jordan or Lebron rookie. You know you could sell it immediately and make a profit or you can hold onto it and let the value appreciate. I’ve never bought games to sell then as a profit and I’ve never traded my games or systems in. I keep everything I buy and because of that my collection value is pretty high.
