Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 166

@kyleforrester87 I picked up KH remix yesterday as well! There's so much content there but remember that the two DS games Re:coded and 358/2 days are actually movies since the games weren't ported just the cutscenes. Also I highly recommend playing chain of memories before playing 2 because it adds quite a bit to the story and fills in a ton of gaps between the games. Chain of memories was my intro to kingdom hearts but I played the GBA version so I'm excited to replay it on PS4.

Sounds to me like this would have been better if the levels weren't randomly generated. More structured and balanced levels and more of a focus on enemy design and placement and this game could've been something great. It'll be interesting to see how they improve the design if they ever make a sequel.

Excellent review @ShogunRok! These games are really hard to explain to someone who hasn't played one yet, but I think you did a brilliant job of it!

@get2sammyb Yup, this game will definitely be in my collection at some point. I'm just another victim of "too many great games, too little time" and money. Fortunately, it's actually not such a bad spot to be in.

Review score was expected for me. I mean you guys gave P4G a perfect score too if I remember correctly and from the gameplay I've seen of this, it is that game with a 2017 coat of paint. As much as I know I'm gonna love this game, I'm still playing Horizon and don't have the money for it just yet. I've also decided to start buying games after they have dropped in price a bit. As much as I would love to support my favorite developers with day 1 purchases, it just doesn't make sense to me to fork over $60 for a game I know will eventually be $20 or less in a few months. Since I came in late to the PS4 party there are tons of great games that are cheap now too. So I'll be patient and save some money while I'm at it.

TL;DR This game is amazing and I am broke!

Just got Horizon so I'll have to say Mass Effect but I'll be picking up The Nonary Games at some point also. Played the first on DS and loved it. Bit bummed the third isn't included though and might pick up a vita so I can play the whole series. I seem to enjoy this type of game on a handheld more anyways. Or I may just give Danganronpa a try since I know all of those are available on PS4. To buy a vita or not to buy a vita... Decisions, decisions...

Re: The Witcher 3 PS4 Patch 1.12 Is Out Now

TricksterTyler

@SonyInfinity thanks for the recommendations! Everything is pointing at bloodborne for me at the moment, so I'll try it out next! Also even though I feel that the Witcher was better than Fallout, it was mostly because it was so different in setting to what I'm used to. It is lke an open world Monster Hunter game and I loved it for that reason

Still need to finish Hearts of Stone but I'm locked into finishing the Nathan Drake Collection at the moment. The Witcher is a fantastic game but like others have said I've put so much time into it that it needs a break.

@SonyInfinity just out of curiosity which games would you name? Always looking for good suggestions on which game to play next.

Re: PS5 Could Launch as Early as 2019, Reckons Analyst

TricksterTyler

It's much too early to even think about a PS5. As long as game development takes, generations of consoles could become longer. Of course it could be argued that with the architecture of the PS4 development could easily be moved to a new console and be dual release like some games were at the start of this gen.

Re: Review: Nuclear Throne (PS4)

Loved playing Rogue Legacy until I realized just how bad I was at it and stopped. Didnt really like the idea of the game not having an end, but I'll probably pick this up sometime anyway. Sounds like it'll be a good time waster and most of Vlambeer's output has been enjoyable.

@get2sammyb thanks for getting rid of that spam, by the time I logged in to report it it had disappeared! I really appreciate all the work you guys do to keep a clean and enjoyable comments section.

It's been an awesome year all round for gaming, some of my favorites include Witcher 3 and the Hearts of Stone expansion, along with Uncharted Collection (old games I know but the improvements BluePoint made to the first game made it much more playable than the original for me), and to a lesser extent Fallout 4 (game was impressive, but I was spoilt from the storytelling in Witcher 3 and it also didn't help that a friend of mine spoiled a major plot point before I even started playing.)
