I do think it amusing that Apple Silicon platforms (Mac, iPad, iPhone) even got this before Microsoft’s (Windows and Xbox)… but honestly the more people who get to experience this for themselves, on their device of choice, the better imo. 😺

An easy 9… 1 point off for a couple of technical/visual glitches like clipping that I’ve encountered running in Performance mode - that aside this remake is absolutely incredible, both familiar and fresh, and as someone who was a multiple repeat player of the original (and for whom the entire series holds a special place in my cold black heart) I couldn’t be more thrilled - and terrified - with what Bloober has created here; it’s absolutely brilliant to be back in town.

As a personal data point, I’d heard the name Palworld but not being a PC gamer had never seen it and not been across the controversy… but for at least half the trailer shown in today’s reveal I was utterly convinced - and trying to compute the how or why - that Nintendo had made a Pokémon game for the PS5. 👀🙀😅

I’m in the “really looking forward to this” camp. Absolutely love what I’ve seen of the art design so far and keen to see if the gameplay mechanics translate it into something that’s both fun and uniquely clever beyond just the trailers. 😺

There is only Returnal for top spot, hands down - design, gameplay, controls, mind-bending gradually-unfolding story, sound, the works. I’m still trying to finish it though… 😅

@astro911 I’ve finished both previously, this is the “New Game+” mode of the sequel (with more than enough in it to keep me interested again!). The controls of the first, even in the “Remake” version, are kind of showing their age at places, but both are just such damn good stories told so creatively they are still a fantastic experience combined.

I sure don’t have Sony’s marketing budget either but I reckon I could buy Microsoft a clue

YES. Having had both the “Chapter Songs” EP and the “REBIRTH - Greatest Hits” album from the Old Gods of Asgard basically on repeat ever since I finished AWII, this will be surely a must-listen for me. The score was so integral to the game experience, and I can’t wait to experience it on its own merit. 🎵🌟

Honest question but if a game is available via Xbox (or is it more specifically GamePass?? dunno) isn’t it already then available on (an appropriately specced) Windows PC? Wouldn’t then game sales need to be collated for both “devices”?

And I’m still like, not an online/multi-player myself (Single Person Immersive Story games few) but there’s totally value from my perspective in PS+ Essential. I hardly ever actually buy games anymore (made an exception for Alan Wake II last month tho), but even where there are a few “quiet” months that don’t interest me in terms of included games, suddenly along comes an absolute home run like A Plague Tale: Requiem or Resident Evil 2 or something like that to occupy me for many months ahead.

I watched someone else play through this on Twitch so I didn’t have to - and after watching it I certainly won’t be bothering myself.

If this morbid, repetitive farce - and the abomination in all the wrong ways that is Ascension - are indicators of what Konami thinks the path forward for Silent Hill is, as a series fan I’m left both completely gutted and furious by these latest “experiences”. 😾

According to my 2023 PS Wrap-Up, I spent 378 hours on my PS5 this past year (which I think is one of my highest playing time years ever), with 169 hours (45%) in Horizon Forbidden West, and then about 100 in Returnal (still trying to finish that!) with the majority of the remainder taken by Death Stranding Director’s Cut.

I’m too old to be able to switch between multiple games at once anymore lol, my brain and fingers can’t keep up with differences in controls to make any decent headway especially later in large titles 🤪 so I usually stick with one until I’m done. (I’m also old enough to have literally never played Fortnite, Minecraft, and their ilk either!)

Also, semi-honest question… how do regular people manage to play 800+ hours in a year? Do they just… not have jobs/partners/families or something?!? 😹

Sorry @get2sammyb - for us internationals (AU), what months roughly are “Spring 2024” as a release window, like March-May is that?

Hey @get2sammyb can we just confirm - this gameplay clip suggests it’s on PC or Xbox given the player is pressing “A” and “Y” to interact? If so, (a) is this article title possibly misleading implying it’s PS5 gameplay footage, and (y?!) is it possible to confirm whether we have actually seen any PS5 gameplay footage or screenshots at all yet?

Looks like the best parts of the original Alan Wake plus the stunning Control rolled into a brilliant new package. This is absolutely on my must-have list.

10 eps at up to 30 mins each ~= say 270 mins for the series. At 400M mins streamed and assuming everyone watches it right through that’s about maybe 1.5M viewers globally yeah?

If my quick maths is close-ish, how does that compare to other streamed shows (I’m looking at you, TLOU)?

And obvs if a proportion of that estimate includes people who only made it through a few episodes, that means more viewers but less satisfaction+completion, which is… worse, right?? 😅

It’s up on Stan in Australia (we don’t have Peacock, nor HBO/Max, directly so their shows usually get spread between Paramount+, BINGE, and Stan) and I’m definitely going to put some time aside when I’m in the mood and smash through it for a laugh. 😸

I’m really hoping that where the article says almost closing the PS3/PSV Stores would have “resulted in the loss of tens of titles forever” is just a typo… 👀😅
