This is blindingly obvious. What worries me is the standard is sets regarding the price of the PS6.

If the Pro sells even remotely well then there's no way that the PS6 will cost less than £700 at launch.

It's a remaster that nobody needed or wanted.

The total amount of money Sony would have made with the original price and upgrade price on top was already more than this pointless thing was worth.

It was a poor showing for me. A pointless remaster and some third party games.

I also find it funny that the Horizon remake is now being applauded because it only costs £10. It shouldn't even exist!

The way this gen is going, it wouldn't surprise me if Sony scalped their own system and then sold them on for £10k a piece.

I wouldn't want to see things go down the platinum route though. I never chased platinums in my life yet I've owned every PlayStation system since the beginning.

This is such a weird gen. A ridiculous procession of overpriced hardware and a perceived lack of worthwhile games since day one.

@nomither6 It had 6 main face buttons (as did the Mega Drive and Saturn) and 2 shoulder buttons (as did the SNES and Saturn). The 3 prongs I'll slightly agree with, but that was purely to help 'teach' people to focus on using the analogue stick properly. I genuinely saw people at the time holding the pad by both sides and then try to stretch their thumb across to reach it.

It amazing how Nintendo created a market that others (again) seem to be destined to follow.

It's also funny how many people here seem to be loving the idea of a dockable/hybrid piece of hardware.

This is what Nintendo has been doing so well for years. They don't make games costing hundreds of millions and can therefore crank out a high volume of well made games. The fact that most of these end up selling millions of units means that the profit margins are astronomical.

And when you talk about gaming revenue rather than systems sold, Xbox wins by a huge margin.

The PS2 sold an absolute truckload because it was one of the least reliable consoles ever to exist and plenty of people bought more than one.

Has PlayStation forgotten its a software company? Yes.

Buy more PlayStation hardware! Dual this. Dual that. Pro this. Stand that. Extra disc. Extra that.

This generation, Sony have been getting away with the biggest grift since time began! Absolute snake oil.

XBOX has made a **** load of older games compatible, faster, higher resolution and at better frame rates.

Nintendo has made games that weren't available on current hardware playable again on Switch.

PlayStation are remaking games we can already play.

As a PS5 owner, I'm confused. Am I missing something? I'm not seeing anything that suggests even the slightest GIANT LEAP that some people are claiming.

More hardware. 😭 As pretty as these are, I'll save my money for the remaster of HZD and (hopefully) Knack.

I still think that the safe-ish way of making a successful live service game is to utilise an already strong games brand. The way that The Last of Us Online had planned to be.

Of course they should protect their IP and patents. I'm just surprised the lawsuit hasn't happened sooner.

Virtually every review I read used the phrase 'Pokémon with guns' at some point.

This getting to be a joke now. Why are resources being used to remaster games like this??

This whole debate about buying a PC over a PS5 Pro is ridiculous to me.

Sony have shown that the PS5 Pro is an absolutely pointless purchase based on the price and actual improvements made. Forget about PCs and the cost to build one, it's not worth £700.

With everything soon to become digital, there's even less reason for bespoke hardware apart from controllers.

A semi upgradable PC in a box that can access the PS store and pair with a DualSense will be the future.

Sony are surely desperate to get out of the console hardware business at this point.

I am so sick of developers making games that don't actually play to the strengths of the hardware that millions of players have bought. Nowadays it's kind of "Here's the game we could do if you hadn't bought the crappy hardware available to you."

How about you stop worrying about what you can do, and worry about what most people will be able to play???

PSVR2 ruined Rez for me in non VR. I can't imagine playing C-Smash for long without VR.

The Crew 2 currently at 80p is an absolute no brainer. Fantastic support from Ubisoft for both games btw. Other publisher's take note.

As much as I enjoy them though, the Forza Horizon games are in a league of their own when it comes to open world racing.

Sony may still be a Japanese company but I don't really consider the PlayStation brand to be so anymore.

Also, I'm not convinced by Astro Bot myself. I love Rescue Mission on PSVR but this one is dull IMO. It offers very little invention and is pitifully short. I genuinely have no idea why people are comparing its quality to a Mario game.

@SlipperyFish This is what was promised at the beginning of this generation of consoles. Sony are now asking us PS5 owners to pay an incredible amount more for such a little increase and things the Xbox was already doing.

@SlipperyFish Well thank you for telling me about all of those new PS5 Pro releases. I've seen none. I've seen (mostly) PS4 games being upscaled.

Forget the price for a second. The Pro isn't actually an impressive upgrade at all. Cerny telling me to look at the pixel detail in a fixed screenshot of a moving game that I've already played and enjoyed 4 years ago ISN'T IMPRESSIVE!

Imagine if Nintendo had 4 years to improve the pixel density in Super Mario World on the SNES Pro. What an incredible game it would have been rather than the trash they actually gave us! 😂

@SlipperyFish Xbox has been upscaling for years without developer support.

@SlipperyFish FPS boost on Xbox Series has done things to Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One games that PS5 Pro is now championing. Resolution and frame rates have been improved.

Let alone the fact that those games are natively playable on Xbox.

The reason I mentioned Xbox is because we're talking about the PS5 Pro and if it offers good value at £700. Many of the features Sony are charging for, have been free on Xbox for a long time.

@The_Wailing_Doom The Xbox you're talking about is designed to be a limited edition. It's not proclaiming to be a boost nor taking the place of the standard model.

And the storage isn't slow at all. I don't know if you've actually used both systems but installing, transferring, loading are all faster on Xbox for multiplatform games.

The base PS5 hasn't even been slightly pushed so far IMO. And if tech experts tell me that it has actually been maxed out, then it seems to be one of the most half-arsed and underwhelming consoles ever.
