Re: Xbox on Bringing Exclusives to PS5: The Industry Is Changing for All of Us

@riceNpea Cinema lost thousands of jobs during that time. Attendance may have been higher but job creation wasn't. And now, thousands of people are losing their jobs in the games industry whilst the buying of games increases. The gap between a hit and a miss used to be negligible. The gap between a hit and a miss nowadays is death for a studio and absolute bankruptcy.

@CielloArc Are you quite young? I ask because Nintendo have released several systems that they've had to drastically reduce the price of and also several systems that didn't sell like hotcakes.

Virtual Boy, GameCube, 3DS, Wii U.

I hope Nintendo doesn't feel they can charge anything they want just because the Switch has been such a success.

Re: Xbox's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Comes to PS5 in Spring 2025

@Ilyn I've Googled it, an as far as I can see Asus don't make a cut of any sales made via stores. It's Windows based so any store you can get on a PC is there so there's no convincing store owners.

Regarding the specs, the fact that the PS4 is still getting games 4 years into this generation means that it's perfectly workable.

In theory, if Microsoft built a truly Windows Xbox, there's no reason it couldn't access all of the stores available on Windows.

@Ilyn I actually think that dedicated hardware from any manufacturer will be obsolete after PS6 and a PS7 will be completely unnecessary. Sony and Microsoft make no money from selling consoles and the R&D costs alone are ridiculous. A plug and play PC type box including the PlayStation and Xbox stores will be a win win for parents/gamers in general. And the fact that Asus already has a handheld capable of this shows that PC manufacturers are ready and able to do just that. Imagine a box under your TV that can access all of those games VS a PS7 that can only play PlayStation games.

@Ilyn I think that PS6 will be the last PlayStation console. The point of having a machine that's tied to only one ecosystem seems more and more ridiculous as time goes on. I don't think there will be a streaming only future just yet though. I've heard rumours that the next Xbox is likely to be even more of a PC in a box with the aim of having multiple store fronts available. Xbox, Steam, Epic etc. could all be accessible from a console like machine under your TV. That could be a game changer when you think about it.

Re: Elden Ring 'Really the Limit' for How Large FromSoftware's Games Can Be

Good to hear. This site's review of Ghost Hunter echoed my own preferences. I'm tired of ever expanding game worlds and really appreciate more linear experiences these days. Even when I do have the time spend hours gaming, I find myself playing games that get to the point without requiring hours of padding.

It's why I've really been enjoying playing my PS3 and backwards compatible Xbox games recently.

Re: Best PSVR2 Games

__jamiie

This definitely wouldn't be my list but I appreciate that it's user generated.

Good to see some PSVR2 articles again on this site. I love mine but just wish that Sony would flesh out the line up with some PSVR1 ports.

Blood and Truth, Astrobot, Dreams, Farpoint, Iron Man, and Until Dawn Rush of Blood would do very nicely.

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

This is going to sound stupid but I own pretty much all of the soulsbourne games but have barely played any of them. I keep seeing, more and more of people saying what a slog they are so I'm thinking of selling them all to reduce my backlog.

Re: Stellar Blade's New Summer Song Is a Vibe on PS5

@PuppetMaster Exactly! Nothing! Yet this site posts articles that mention Xbox and Switch all the time. But only when it's for Sony's perceived benefit. When there's something negative about the red or green they post tons of stuff to fuel pathetic console wars. And then people flood the comments with "Xbox sux, Switch is crap" kind of comments. It's purile, childish and, as a PlayStation fan, I wish they'd do better.

But I guess that engagement is more important than actually having objective opinions and standards.

Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers

PSVR2 has plenty of games. Just virtually none from Sony themselves.

I wish I had held of buying mine if I'm honest. I love VR in general but it seems like this is dead in the water now.

I have PSVR1, PSVR2 and a Quest 3. PSVR1 was a revelation for me and I only wish Sony had made better controls rather than forcing Move controls onto us.

PSVR2 has some incredible tech built in, amazing controllers but is absolutely going to fail. I'm gutted.

Meta aren't letting up with their VR push and have some amazing exclusive games coming up. There are also plans for new hardware further down the line. This is the platform I wish I'd solely gone with after PSVR1.

Re: Shadows of the Damned Remaster Out This Halloween, Only £20 / $25

I'll get this on Xbox as I have the original 360 version still playable on Series X. With Killer Is Dead also playable, and Lollipop Chainsaw upcoming, all I need is a Killer7 and NMH 1+2 ports to be happy.

Killer7 came out on PC a while back and HD ports of NMH are on Switch so it's baffling to me that they haven't released everywhere else.
