Do people not just play games for fun anymore? What is the obsession with earning trophies?

@Maubari Have I missed something? How has this developer proven again and again that they actually have some decency and respect for the player?

I've always thought that games adaptations are better served as a series rather than a film.

Imagine trying to cram The Last of Us into a 2 hour film.

I also hope this trend continues as there are some amazing stories and worlds out there in video game form only.

For anyone who has watched any of it, do you need to have played a lot of the games to follow the story?

@bindiana Agreed. It seems to me like something happened behind the scenes to make them avoid PlayStation entirely. It's not like Easy Come Easy Golf wouldn't have been an easy port to PS4/5.

The thing about PS+ being less about day one releases means I've invariably already bought any games I was interested in.

I realise this isn't the same for everyone but that's the reason I didn't renew when it expired in February.

Great news. All multi platform games should do this.

I still think they should do a remake of the 2D games in the same way they did the FF Pixel Remaster collection.

It's great to see a game like this reach more players.

@DarkTron Is this really a big deal? You need an account for pretty much any piece of tech these days. I don't see why you're acting like this is a negative towards Microsoft.

@RenanKJ A great demo but it was nothing close to being as good as a Mario game.

@Max_the_German Blood and Truth remaster would be awesome too. Even though London Studio is no more.

And Iron Man. It's on Quest so can't be that tricky to port.

Notable absentees: Chun-Li, Ryu, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Yoshi, Kirby, Spyro, Ms Pac-Man, Lucky Hit Guy, Tingle, Star Fox, Chibi Robo, Scrooge McDuck, the dude from Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, Dr Robotnik/Eggman, the evil boss from Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, Crazy Tracy, Murray (the tramp from Harvest Moon a Wonderful Life), the Mii character I made for Wii Sports, Geomon, Ganon, Wario, Luigi, Waluigi, Cristiano Ronaldo, the girl in a bra in Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, and Samus.

Some of these suggestions should genuinely be in the list and some are just slightly less ridiculous than than some of the names included.

Okay....I was kinda hoping more flat screen games would be converted to VR, not the other way round.

It's a brilliant game but I'm not sure how well it will play in non VR.

@nomither6 I completely agree. Although usually on this site or Pure Xbox I get slammed for saying anything negative about the current gen.

I'm lucky enough to own a PS5, Xbox Series X and Switch and I've easily spent way more time and had way more fun with my Switch. I don't play at all in handheld mode either.

Going back to my PS3 has really been a revelation and so much fun.

@Msw7089 This will make me sound very old now but I genuinely think this will be my last gen of gaming. The industry as a whole is heading in a direction that doesn't appeal to me and I have plenty of retro consoles to get my gaming fix.

@IslandLogic I'd much rather use one of my DS4s. Isn't there an issue with the home button and pause not working properly though?

@MrGilly69 I built up quite a decent PS3 library when it was considered current gen but I've discovered and bought tons more games for it since. It feels like having a brand new system due to all of the hidden gems I collected after watching Metal Jesus Rocks on YouTube.

I hadn't realised how stale gaming has become until I plugged it back in after something like 8 years. I did struggle to get used to the DS3 again initially though.

@MrGilly69 I've gone back to my PS3 recently and am absolutely loving it.

I'm really liking the direction that Atari have been taking since the current CEO joined. Maximising their legacy, investing in remaster expert devs and creating new games that play to their strengths.

Considering the hell the brand has been through at various points in the past, it's great to see it healthy and appreciated again.

There seem to be quite varied opinions on this game. The demo answered a few questions but it'll be interesting to see the reception from full reviews.

It's a very impressive looking game from a technical point of view but it feels like the art style has been done to death. Hopefully the full game will have more variation.

As others have said, the combat feels a little off. It's not quite one thing nor another.

Dead Souls please. With 3 already being on PS4, a remake seems unnecessary.

A pointless upgrade that allows developers to avoid trying to push the hardware we already paid for.

@rjejr I know what I read. I know what is fact. I don't know why you feel the need to argue with facts.

@rjejr It's not the Nintendo Life article I was going by. Many business and financial articles were posted stating this at the end of February.

Their cash reserves, value of owned assets and lack of debt make them the richest company in Japan.

Not share price or anything that fluctuates as easily.

These are hard facts.

The PS5 is massively undeserving in its success in my opinion. I like it, don't get me wrong. But I enjoyed the previous 4 consoles far more at this point in their life cycles.

@ShogunRok And yet Nintendo is Japan's richest company based on cash, assets and lack of debt compared to Sony.

I don't think any dev should automatically expect their next and future titles to be snapped up without question. In fact, as time goes on, any platform holder will be more selective over which games make the cut.

That's just common sense. Or am I missing something?

The work that has gone into this game post launch is nothing short of staggering.

It's an old idea that 1% of PlayStation gamers will ever use.

I'm all for trying news things but this won't last.

The fact that the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast had hall effect sticks makes this whole problem even more baffling.

@Northern_munkey Not true. Dedicated hardware is almost irrelevant at this point. The only thing you'll have is a hard drive that plugs in to your TV. If you're lucky you'll get a bespoke controller.

Everything will be an app to play the games you want to play.

Xbox will be an app. PlayStation will be an app. Nintendo will be an app.

EA and Ubisoft already have theirs.

I've been playing it on Switch and been loving it. I haven't noticed any areas of underperformance so far either.

@commentlife Exactly! Remember when developers had to actually 'get good' at programming to get the best out of the PS3? When they did the results were incredible.

Now it's a case of demanding more out of the box power so that less effort needs to be made.
