Re: Talking Point: As PS5 Turns 3, How Are You Feeling About It?

djlard

It is a bit letdown. When I got my PS2 I was happy to play my dream games. When I got my PS3 it was just WOW! Super graphics and perfect variety of games. Than I got PS4 Pro and it had same WOW effect. Variety of games and huge graphics leap. ...and when I got PS5 it was just... hmmm... it is faster ps4, with chaotic UI (still confused with short and long ps button press) and number of games you can count on one hand...

I have feeling like I'm still fighting with that machine. It is very unintuitive, everything is hidden behind "2 more moves or clicks"... it reminds me my transition from WinXP to Win8.1 - access to some functions are disabled or digged deeper.

I'm not happy with PS5. I still feel little robbed. And if my PS4 could have SSD loading times, I would never buy PS5 and skip this generation entirely...

Re: Sony Takes Control of UK as PS5 Climbs to 51% Market Share

djlard

I'm not surprised PS5 is going well, because it has PS4 compatibility. And if you look into history you can clearly see how huge damage PS3 suffered once it was stripped of PS2 compatibility. Yes, PS4 also didn't have PS3 compatibility, but it hasn't it from the start so people didn't feel robbed. Atop of it, PS4 was huge jump forward. So PS5 without PS4 support would be somewhere around Stadia.

Re: Physical Games Represented Just 4% of Sales for PlayStation Last Quarter

djlard

@StephenTailby

Are those sales compared only for games released both (physically and digitally) or is it just all games? If this statistic is for all games, than it is heavily missleading, because you cannot compare things yhat don't exist.

There is maybe 1% of games on disc I'd like to buy. The rest is unfortunately only digital so I have no other option.

Re: Poll: Do You Think GTA 6 Will Release on PS4?

djlard

I rather ask whitch third party developer won't release it on PS4? No one cares power of system, everybody cares number of sold systems. That is simple logic.

And another thing... No one still takes PS5 seriously, even SONY. It is that black sheep (in ugly white furr).

Re: Interest in Destiny 2 Reportedly at an All-Time Low

djlard

I gave Destiny 2 some hours (2 or 3) a few months ago and it was fun, but in the end I hit the wall of boredom and didn't even start it again next day.

Globally I think that whole era of FtP, GaaS, MMO and Battle Royale multiplayer sh*tstorm started to implode. Opposite to singleplayer, where you finish game, put on shelf and maybe in a few years you return, multiplayer requires constant attention and that simply cannot be given.

I still compare games to books or movies. You can love some so much that you can read/watch them a few times, but can't do it for a long time. You need a rest or it will just fulfill your need and you put it away for good.

Yes, multiplayer boom, especially FtP and GaaS, was made by gamers itslef by buying additional (crappy) content. And it is logical that companies offer something that normally thinking person would avoid by miles, because there are unfortunately lot of lunatics who buy it (one example for all is Costumes). So it isn't fault of producers, it's fault of customers.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for November 2023 Announced

djlard

Well... Aliens Fireteam was the worst spend money I've done in PS5 era (Yes, I also bought Werewolf, Necromunda and D&D Dark Alliance).

Mafia 2 will just fit into collection (maybe never touched)

And Dragonwhat? I exactly don't know these anime or manga or whatever it is...

Re: Ghostrunner 2 (PS5) - Slash-Happy PS5 Sequel Is a Bit Choppy

djlard

@LIMA Exactly... One hit = death in combination with enemy's brilliant aim skills and predictions of your moves is making that game pure purgatory. Simply I thought I cannot affect if I die or survive because it was about luck, not skill. I was looking forward it, but it was huge letdown and the only luck I had it was free PS Plus game and therefore it didn't end on PS5 pile of shame I paid for (and unfortunately it is not so small pile).

Re: Poll: Do You Still Play Diablo 4?

djlard

I tried it today again after... 2 months? Lvl 41 Necro, Act V. I gave it an hour, but didn't get any legendary... I don't know... I'm trying to at least like it, but it is hard.

Re: PlayStation Allegedly Under Pressure to Make Major Gaming Acquisitions

djlard

1. SONY won't buy anything soon, because their move of "milking cow" GaaSes has wrecked and they wasted huge amount of money, so they have to return to planning table.
2. Microsoft now buys anything they want. ABlizz aquisition success was like releasing from leash and they'll try as fast as they can to get monopoly on any digital gaming, because now is their chance.
3. Regulators are incompetent puppets. They were doing like "we are doing something" but failed miserably and any trust is at zero level.
