Re: No, Cyberpunk 2077 Does Not Have a 56GB Day One Patch on PS4, PS5

jdv95

if the base install is only 56 GB than wow smaller then expected.

thats just the size of your average game these days.

and with all the audio they have in the game (music songs, script etc) they must be realy good at compressing files.

i know that a previous report some weeks ago said that the filesize was stated to be around 75 GB. the one that revealed that 2 discs where gonna be included.

so either that 75 GB will be reached if the day 1 patch is included (would be a 20 GB patch if so) or the latest delay made it possible to compress the files reducing the total install size of the game.

Re: PS5 Sold Out in Japan, But Launch Numbers Are Dire

jdv95

i don't know tbh. if it sold out of all the stock they gave to japan,no matter how much, it's a success.

you say the software does not sell there but than it turns out the available ps5 stock is sold out in a rapid time. so given those metrics i would not call it dire at all.

Re: Games Journalist Alanah Pearce Joins Sony Santa Monica

sigh these slightly sexist comments are the reason why i interact less and less with this site these days.

from racism to unreasonable hostilty, this website's comunity has gone down hill so much in just a few years...

anyway congrats to alanah, did not see this coming as i always saw her as "team xbox".

Re: Next Mass Effect Game in Early Development

jdv95

saying it again, dragon age 4 will be make it or break it for them. if that game underperforms in sales /gets lukewarm reviews EA might realy cut them loose. at that point bioware will only cost them money without seeing real profits in return.

so there might even be a chance we don't get to see the next mass effect.

either that or we will still see it,but it will be another online coop game and then ofcourse it's doomed to fail.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Delay Is Due to Current-Gen Consoles After All

jdv95

they should have canceled the current gen version while they still could. my understanding is that it only became a next gen game somewhere during development and not at the start,so they should have just made the call to not support the current gen consoles at that point. but they decided to do it anyway with this as a result.

imo better to cancel the current gen versions and refund pre orders while they still could (now it's to late) rather then having a halfbaked current gen version which will be so bad that it brings down the entire game's reception.

Re: There's Growing Concern Over the PS4 Version of Cyberpunk 2077 Following Delay

jdv95

tbh i realy don't see this game running well on OG ps4's and xbox one's without heavy compromise.
from the wording in the tweet about the game being almost next gen and the hard work they need to do to make it run smooth on ps4,xbox one etc,i realy don't think this game will be compatible enough with those consoles.
i'm suprised they did not ditch the current gen versions considering it seems that they made the game way to ambitious for that hardware. at some point they must have thought that they where making it to big for a current gen game.

If the witcher 3 had problems at launch on PS4,then for sure cyberpunk could be even worse.

Re: Talking Point: Could PS5 Be Delayed?

jdv95

@Porkfiend the ps4 did do that though. it launched in japan months after it's release in the US and europe.

altough the ps5 will see a worldwide launch at the same time since jim ryan has been pushing for that.

Re: Talking Point: Could PS5 Be Delayed?

jdv95

the only reason i can add for a delay is a very selfish one being that it could increase the chances of getting one on release day (more time to make units before launch) because i have a feeling that the ps5 will be even more rare than the ps4 during it's release window.
