@Michael2008ish Require a bank card to be paired to adult accounts. Not as much of a massive data processing and privacy disaster that the nonsense passport level ID requirements being touted for porn sites are, especially given 99% of accounts are paired to bank cards anyway. If the parent goes ahead anyway and gives their kid an adult account that’s both their right and their problem by that point. State can’t control everything but they can act as a helping hand.

Skyrim gets a bad name for being remastered every 5 seconds but Sony have gotten just as egregious. At least the Skyrim Special Edition was due to a lack of backwards compatibility, Naughty Dog just clearly can’t help themselves.

I dunno, does this not just make PSN now groomer city? Like YouTube doesn’t have the ease of access with messaging features so I can understand that being exempt (even if there’s no reason to have an account for general use) but PSN is widely available and now being reported everywhere that it’s exempt. Just enforce child accounts with closed inboxes, it’s not all that difficult. Removing all access is absurd but also things can’t continue as they are, middle ground people!

@Balie3000 It really shouldn’t be true that Thief 2 has more impressive stealth than basically all games releasing in 2024.

No more bird sounds good. It was novel in Origins but has gotten stale. I do like the sound of assassinations having to be more thoughtful rather than being outright gimped but it will probably just be annoying having to find a way above certain enemies.

@__jamiie This year’s Ultimate Team is honking. Some are better than others but I find the single-player offerings this year not bad at all, just online feels properly rubbish. I love the RPG elements of these sorts of modes but would never spend money, I miss Master League!

I played enough to get the Platinum through PS Plus but yeah that season thing is a truly bad idea, just scuppers the power creep.

@Drago201 These platforms grow exponentially. If more leave Twitter then eventually it’ll take off. Seems to have made way more of an impact than Threads did. Musk being a giant f**king loser literally every day of his pathetic existence does tend to be a motivator.

@Drago201 People are moving. Not for me, it’s corny as hell, but there’s enough people and businesses going for it to make sense. Someone has to be the first to announce things on another platform after all.

I just had zero interest in it. Nothing it did seemed to stand out in any way.

The fact it’s even released is impressive given the circumstances. Besides, wanting a STALKER game to be polished is a fool’s errand, the fact remains that the ideas and atmosphere are miles ahead of games with far more polish.

RIP. To be fair basically all Namco games I’ve played with an online element has had that mode be dreadful and suffer with all sorts of outages and lag.

I love that my base console’s box has a big 8K logo on it despite I think The Touryst being the only 8K game on the entire console.

I really should play this. Played Underground 1 and 2 and Most Wanted 2005 over the last couple years and they hold up brilliantly.

@wildcat_kickz I really admire a lot of what Unity does but the online balancing holds it back a lot. It’s like a glimpse into a future that never really came to pass but I love elements of it that haven’t been matched. I’d totally go for the platinum if it got patched.

Oh my god it’s glorious. Tried the 4K 60FPS and it looks and runs beautifully. Still got pop in and shimmering (they’d have to basically fix the underlying issues in a whole remaster) but it feels brilliant now to play, makes the combat automatically better too with the timing much snappier. Genuinely i think a lot of people should go back to this one, like a nice bowl of comfort food despite the jank and now it’s not held back technically.

Should be higher than 13, possibly 16 or 18 depending on what’s legally declared as a minor in each country. They’ll have their pals on other platforms already and I’d honestly say that 13-16 was the main age group targeted when it comes to groomers, it’s a truly horrible time full of self-doubt and confusion which is very easily exploited by these people. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy, create a platform popular with kids and the nonces will flock too, you have to make sure your platform’s secure. Parents play a part but platform holders need to be held responsible, it’s horrifying how few steps it would take to be in a minor’s inbox.

Honestly not a game I’ve replayed once. While 2 is massively divisive, I’d say that it at least doesn’t feel as safe as 3 can feel, despite it obviously being a fantastic game.

Being the best of a slow year doesn’t mean it’s not a slow year.

@__jamiie If you’ve spent £700-£800 on a console and everything isn’t handed to you on a silver platter then it’s no surprise that you’d be pissed off: I’m anti Pro in general but this is a legitimate issue that makes the entire very expensive endeavour pointless if the game looks worse on the Pro.

@BusyOlf It’s crazy to me that Switch gets Portal and PS doesn’t. They’re brilliant games and I do actually own the PS3 version of Portal 2!

I quite like the content added to the Layla trilogy, an extra currency that you earn from doing daily content separate to the main game and can be spent on nice looking armour and weapons and stuff, nothing game breaking but sits nicely alongside the base game.

It’s such a slap in the face to those of us that supported the base model and have yet to see enough from Sony to justify even upgrading from a PS4 Pro. Downright disrespectful to immediately go from cross-gen games to selling us a version that will run new games ‘properly’.
