People seem to forget that PC gaming is 99% MS Windows so between that and Xbox they would have a good proportion of the market sewn up. I know stuff like Steam exists on the PC side but more and more money is starting to move towards MS with GP on there as well, plus they control the OS and SDK etc.

If Sony do lose out because of the Acti-Blitz deal going through and eventually cease to provide hardware / a streaming service then gamers like ourselves, looking for the big AAA releases, are going to have no choice but to go Xbox / PC or streaming service - with the majority running on Windows. I know Nintendo is there in the background but they don't produce systems capable of running these types of games and they don't really cater for my tastes in the most part.

SteamDB says it all. This game had an all time peak of 1,188 players and today the high was 9. It's a shame that the live service model will end up rendering this game not playable from that date but perhaps it really wasn't worth it in the first place.

Really liked Deliver Us The Moon and can't wait for this game. For me they nailed the story so hopefully they can repeat that feat. Having some extra gameplay elements will be a definite bonus.

The combat looks more like Outriders than Returnal and so far I'm not convinced it's going to hit the same mark as that fast flowing gameplay loop.

Well that trailer has done it's job, I would like to pre-order this game!

Anyone looking to get more use out of GT7 head over to the thread in the forum. We've got the fastest lap challenge which I announce on Monday's with results published on Friday and there's also the Push Square race nights on Sunday night if anyone is up for some friendly races. That actually sounds like a good use of being on foot and could make the game really interesting. Thing is it won't be as easy to play with randoms on that mode but could still be fun.

@Weebleman I haven't played for a while anyway and never really bothered with the skins anyway so it probably won't change much for me, but it's like free to play has made it worse for those that did like those things. Shame really.

@Voltan Could well have been. I remember them changing things around a bit with how crowns worked so that you could get more without having to win which I very rarely ever did

I haven't played this for a while and definitely not since it went free to play. I can't even remember what Fame points are used for compared to Kudos or Crowns? Can you actually get anything useful for those?

Started Sekiro and getting my ass handed to me. So far it’s been fun so I’m sure I’m going to stick at it and hopefully at least finish it.

Also the co-op Returnal with @Kairu was an awesome excuse to go back to the game. It’s soooo good. Now I just need to get faster at GT7.

@Dezzy70 Yeah the remasters / remakes thing I'm kind of torn on. Sometimes it's nice to replay these things in an updated package but they really have kicked into overdrive in that department with originality seemingly now taking the backseat to profits.

Development has become a lot more complex and expensive this last few generations and that's really playing out now with how safe a lot of developers / publishers are playing it. It's an expensive business though so I can understand to a certain extent why they do it after all Hollywood has been getting away with this sort of behaviour for years.

@Dezzy70 I really believe this stuff is coming as once the PS5 is easily available they will want to start driving sales of it. It's just going to take a bit of time for them to move on from having to support PS4. While they are doing that games will have to be written taking the older SDK into account.

I'm sure as soon as they can leave that behind and they can start targeting the PS5 SDK only then we will see something that really takes advantage of the hardware. That's when we might see these new IPs coming into play.

@Ravix It really does seem like a good reason to consider a PS5, especially if people were put off by the price of new first party titles!

@themightyant It really is a shame that, considering the Switch has done so well for Nintendo. It likely just needed a bit more support and it would have been the success they wanted it to be.

I thought Kireth had some great points in this video about why they took the direction they did with GT7. The statistics about the number of players that actually play online is quite revealing and really goes to show where the fan base really is.

That's not to say that there isn't room for online play and more serious players as they have the Nations and Manufacturers cups for those. Sport mode has also got some good races this week and it feels like they might be moving in the right direction with them being more varied and imaginative.

And like @Abarth_71 mentioned our Sunday night races have been a blast so the game is definitely good where it counts - in the playability department. We've got a good mix of abilities so if anyone did feel like joining then let us know on the GT7 thread.

Just platinumed this today. It’s been a great game and I’ll carry on playing as there’s a load of other content I’ve not even looked at yet.

I’d rather have some new tracks than new cars though and there’s some other things that need fixing such as not being able to save settings for a lobby or freezes when playing online. It would also be nice to have more than three daily races and perhaps have more variety in the tracks and strategies.

Even with those things it’s still a great game that should get better over time.

Really pleased they are working on a new IP and hopefully it will be as original and interesting as Returnal was.

Expectations reached a 7 just before the show and I thought it actually exceeded them. Stray looks great and to have the Horizon update shadow drop is a nice surprise.

I don't know if it was the same on the other console but on PS you could download the trial and play for 2 hours first and they also had a 50% discount running for a period after the release. That will definitely have helped as I wouldn't have bought it without being able to try it first.

Excitement level set to 5 so that I'm unlikely to be disappointed. I'll happily raise that higher nearer the time if it looks like there might be some really good stuff being revealed.

I'm good with what was offered last year but haven't really played any from this year. I'd say I'm satisfied though as for the money it's a fairly good deal.

Looks like a good update with the new Cafe menus and some new cars. Would be nice to get some fixes for the lobby issues in Sport mode and some new tracks but can't complain.

Great to hear as although I like a lot of the existing IPs it's always good to let these studios use their creativity to come up with something completely new.

@PaperAlien Cheers for the recommendation. If the 7Ps were the same price as the Pulse 3Ds I'd have them in a heartbeat but unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch that far.

I've got my fingers crossed that they fix a couple of the issues we see on race nights with regards to lobbies and online play. Otherwise it's just an awesome game so updates always welcome.

I'm hoping that there's a good deal on some hardware as I quite fancy the Pulse 3D headset. My current set of cans has been glued multiple times and is definitely living on borrowed time.

I can spare a few hundred hours to play a sequel. Hope they get an amazing soundtrack like the first.

They are showing willing with putting HFW on there to start with. I'm assuming that these games work the same as the Cyberpunk 2077 trial that was available before where you actually download the entire game and then if you buy it just unlocks it once the clock as ticked down?

A similar trophy existed for Sniper Elite 4 but it was a DLC trophy called "Albert Hall". There were a few others such as "Down Periscope" where you had to kill Hitler by dropping a submarine on him and "Hot Pot" where you had to kill him with a casserole.

Great that there's so many ways to kill Hitler.
