Getting towards the end of the excellent Tinykin. Highly recommended
Tried Gotham Knights but I can see why it got bad user reviews. Combat feels way off. Feels like it was a live service game and they swapped it out at the last min after backlash to avengers. Either that or they are clueless lol
I don't think it was going to be a massive sales hit but launching it next to the first genuinely fresh Mario sidescroller since 2006 (or was it 2005?) was ill advised.
I'm waiting for it to be £20 or less before I pounce
@itsfoz it's meant to be good. and now we can test it as part of our subscription and find a hidden gem or that you saved the money buying it. Win win for me
@DrVenture69 I found deaths door annoying. That being the case reckon I may have same issue with Tunic? It's something I keep waiting for a price drop on but may not bother if it's very similar to deaths door (or maybe I'll have to re-try deaths door)
@Mostik I never held out much hope for Flashback 2 but didn't think they would botch it as much as they ended up doing. It's a shame as the original was unreal at the time of release
Just finished High on Life. Picked it up on sale for a more palatable price of £22. Loved it. It won't be for everyone but I thought it was good dumb fun with decent gameplay.
Hopefully something that is single player and narrative focused as they are superb at that. The plague tale games are atmospheric near masterpieces in my eyes
PS5 beats it just by being it's own new thing as well as a suped up PS4 pro but on its own merits it's hard to beat PS4. Infamous, Uncharted 4, last of us 2, god of war, Spiderman, ghost of Tsushima and that's just the first party games. Its been a great 10 years of gaming
I love it. It's superb. Love the enhanced backwards compatibility. Love seeing what can be done when not held back by last gen and better versions of cross gen games.
It's no surprise it's number 1. I can't stand the series but there's a mass majority of gamers that just play COD exclusively maybe also with FIFA (or EA FC or whatever it's called now). They pay no attention to warnings or reviews and buy it every year regardless
It's insane how much more PS5 is selling compared to series X when series X is the more powerful console and has gamepass as a selling point.
Retailer's in certain countries at one point where using the Activision deal (when it was first announced) to say buy series X as soon COD won't be on PS5 amd that obviously didn't work.
People obviously still get swayed by big budget single player exclusive games and a more likely to stick to same brand when upgrading it seems.
They'll mess up before ps6. No-one has dominated 3 consecutive generations lol
@gollumb82 I had it and didn't give it enough time to grab me so traded it in. When it came on plus I gave it another go and got hooked. Couldn't put it down after that. The atmosphere and lighting were incredible.
I haven't finished but so far it's at least a 9. I respect people's view's who may say it's a 7 or 6 but no-one can seriously suggest it's a 1. That's just idiotic
@ReadySlayerOne it's refreshing to get a new IP that's 1) single player 2) good story and world 3) decent length with more side content if you still want more. Most new IPs that are launching are either multiplayer focused or always online or both.
But then it doesn't sell so EA and other big publishers will be extra wary of making big AAA single player only new IPs
@Westernwolf4 Spiderman 2 or Alan wake 2 is my dilemma. Think I'll have to hold off on AW2 until Christmas as I think Spiderman 2 is more likely to get spoiled for me if I don't get it at launch.
@Dusk_Actual Salem's lot is an amazing book. Slow build up but by doing that you get to know the characters and want them to survive. Find both adaptations of it to be very disappointing
@DrVenture69 it looks fantastic but isn't a patch on Dead Space when it comes to story and gameplay. One of the best looking games I've played though and that was on at 1080p

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for December 2023?
Seems a marmite month but I'm well happy.
Power wash looks fun and is something I wanted to try but wouldn't have wanted to buy.
Lego 2k looks decent
But Sable is the one I'm most eager to try. Nearly bought it not too long ago.
For me getting 3 games I can try as part of my subscription that I wanted to play risk free is what plus is for in my view

Re: Mini Review: Flashback 2 (PS5) - Disastrously Buggy Sequel Diminishes 1992 Classic
@Kanji-Tatsumi walking dead destinies too. Just to break up the 3sum lol
Re: Mini Review: Flashback 2 (PS5) - Disastrously Buggy Sequel Diminishes 1992 Classic
@JamieO such a shame, the original was brilliant. Ahead of its time.
I didn't hold out much hope for it but didn't expect them to balls it up this badly
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2023 Announced
@Stickleman that a serious question? If so it's the lowest tier. Extra is mid and premium highest

@itsfoz sarcasm works so well in text so well you have to actually state it was meant to be sarcastic 😂
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2023 Announced
For me personally...this is a great month.
Wanted power wash and sable and Lego 2k looks decent. Well happy
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 504
@PixelDragon I liked it and at that price can't be argued with really lol

Got Tinykin to start. Love 3d platform games
Re: Jurassic Park: Classic Collection Breaks Containment on PS5, PS4
It's Jurassic parks 30th anniversary not 20th

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2023?
Not a good month in my opinion. Best game of the bunch Kolona is one I already own too so that's frustrating but it's how it goes suppose
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster Announced, Has a Brand New Survival Mode, $10 Upgrade Path
I'm very glad I bought the original release on PSN now. Was thinking of replaying this again anyway at some point so now will in January
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 503
Not 100% sure. Burned out on AC Mirage. Gameplay is solid enough but story not grabbing me at all.
I'm sure I'll have something in my backlog to get into

@nomither6 no such thing as 'same old Mario'.

Slowly getting into AC mirage. Its finally started to grab me

Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage Patch 1.0.5 Finally Adds Option to Disable Chromatic Aberration
I've just started this after finishing Spiderman 2. Wish could have done it the other way as this so far seems very dated in comparison to Spiderman
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 501
@gollumb82 I had it and didn't give it enough time to grab me so traded it in. When it came on plus I gave it another go and got hooked. Couldn't put it down after that. The atmosphere and lighting were incredible.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 501
@mac_da_man I had to resort to guides for some later puzzles on call of the sea but thought it was a great game
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 501
@gollumb82 I really enjoyed Callisto in the end at 2nd attempt. Stunning looking game
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 501
Finished Spiderman 2 last night. Loved it. Superb gameplay visuals and story.
I'll do some final side missions and then move on to Assassin's creed mirage maybe via a palette cleanser like carion or dark pictures house of ashes
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Alan Wake 2?
I can't wait to get this
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 500
I'm a newbie on here really. Been on off since maybe July this year. 500 of anything nowadays is impressive. Well done.
Away today but Spider-Man 2 tomorrow. Barely scratched the surface I think
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

Re: Poll: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bugs are Apparently a Real Problem, But Have You Had Any?
@Beeeee-AHH-eer I had that and that's it really
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 499
Spiderman 2 in performance mode (what an opening) and Mario wonder arrived to day and me n my son are loving it
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
Resi 4 and Spiderman 2 were my most anticipated so as Resi 4 was out ages ago it's been Spiderman 2 most the year.
Alan Wake 2 is next but I'll have to be patient and get that at Christmas
Re: Gollum May Not Be the Worst PS5, PS4 Game of the Year After All
@Loamy I'm still curious to see if can tolerate gollum enough to finish it. Bet it's on PlayStation plus extra by February at latest
Re: Gollum May Not Be the Worst PS5, PS4 Game of the Year After All
This is going to steal loads of sales from Spiderman 2. Why didn't sony delay it to avoid going against this? They'll regret it watch this space
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 498
In a gaming lull until Friday
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 498
@Rangers420 I finished Callisto Protocol last week at 2nd attempt. Underrated in my opinion
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 497
I finished Call of the sea (hidden gem on PlayStation extra) and now really enjoying The Callisto Protocol at the 2nd attempt.
Still also going through the stick of truth. Currently in the 8 bit Canada lol
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Mirage?
If this came out 2 week's earlier I'd have got it but not enough time to get it finished before Spiderman 2 so it'll have to wait until after that.
Looks great though

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 496
@ReadySlayerOne think you're the only other person I've seen who's played Immortals of Aveum.
I was very impressed. Looked great, gameplay was rock solid. Decent story. You can go deep in the lore if you explore and read a lot.
Think it could have made a good series if it sold well but looks like it's flopped unfortunately
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 496
@Dusk_Actual not actually read pet Sematary it's one I'll check out.
The shining, Dr Sleep, Duma Key and It (if you don't mind massive books) are all highly recommended
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 496
@Westernwolf4 I've been wanting a big new game to get lost in then October cones along with them 2 and AC mirage looking solid too.
I'll save AW2 for my wife to get me for Christmas and get to enjoy it fully when off work after Christmas
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 496
@Westernwolf4 Spiderman 2 or Alan wake 2 is my dilemma. Think I'll have to hold off on AW2 until Christmas as I think Spiderman 2 is more likely to get spoiled for me if I don't get it at launch.

@DrVenture69 it looks fantastic but isn't a patch on Dead Space when it comes to story and gameplay. One of the best looking games I've played though and that was on at 1080p
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for October 2023?
I think it's a good month. Calisto isnt bad and weird west looks great.
