I missed Dreams! Oops... alphabetical order might've helped Sekiro (because I can never get enough From Software and who doesn't like swinging a katana sword?!), Days Gone (yeah, zombies are troped but motorcycle! and zombies!), Dreams (because it looks amazing), and ANTHEM (in the hopes it can be a fun game to play with friends)
But if TLOU2 breaches 2019... that's my number one.
@Nerdfather1 I really enjoyed Spider-man as that game is just plain fun... pure popcorn movie stuff. I don't disagree it has some game-play design stuff (can be repetitive), but it's smooth, fast-paced, funny, engaging, and a delight to play. Not sure I understand what you mean about TR, as all games your character can die. It's just up to you to carry the protagonist through the journey. Shadow isn't great, but it's still TR and very enjoyable.
I think God of War a little overrated, but that's fine. I get the appeal. I had a lot of fun playing it and the combat system was really terrific--challenging, yet fun. And I like a good challenging combat system based on skill, instead of game mechanics (I'm the weirdo playing Horizon:ZD FW on Ultra Hard NG+ and still doing NG+ Old Hunters in Bloodborne ). The list is great and I wouldn't change it.
It truly wouldn't surprise me if there was no Blu-Ray/CDD drive and it was digital only. But if they are going to make it backwards compatible, then that could cause a big uproar. I tend to get most my game digital anyway now, but having the option is always good, imo. I'd like to see the disc drive in it.
Btw, that design is bad and looks way too similar to the PS4 and Sony has always been good about complete redesigns each gen.
"Hopefully, if enough people want them, Activision will make it happen," shouldn't even be the thought. Those with hearing disabilities need to be taken care of for all games and this was a big oversight.
I'm really enjoying myself... and with the occasional "Hey! I remember that secret spot now," hitting my memory cells, it's been a blast. I actually wish they would've tightened up the camera though to match more modern games... but oh well.
Times are changing... does Sony really need E3 for anything they can't setup and produce on their own? This day and age, companies like Apple do their own thing anymore on their own timelines.
Maybe Sony is doing the same thing. They certainly have the clout.
You can have the original Stewart Copeland soundtrack play?! If that's true, I'm even happier I pre-ordered. That was my biggest disappointment hearing they didn't have it for game 1. That soundtrack is really amazing. I found it way back in the day and downloaded it from somewhere. It might've been Copeland's own blog, I think, after the game released.
Thank you! I've been slowly getting used to them, but occasionally I still hit R2 instead of L2 for dialog. When that happens, everything gets REALLY interesting
@get2sammyb Never too late to bring Geralt back into your life. Never. Ever. Find a gaming lull and load it back up and I bet you'll might just get hooked again. And you can always just jam out the main story. Blood and Wine is amazing. It's big. One of the best DLC adds and right up there with Old Hunters and Frozen Wilds. Story-wise, it FAR surpasses any DLC expansion I've ever played--hands-down.
I'm trying to grow out the mutton chops and have a Sam Elliot stache.
I've also been thinking of creating a forum thread on wild RDR2 stuff that happens. I mean, this game has some amazing things that can happen Arthur. Like when I aimed my gun at a goat and then ignored it, it knocked me on my butt and I hear, "Well, that sure was a sight to see." This game!
@lacerz Thanks! I was worried about that too, so I've been keeping an eye on them. I found the stealth the easiest, so I was able to get plenty. I didn't realize you could get 6 total for getting the max... haha!
@ShogunRok Thanks! I appreciate your answer and that sounds about right to me as well (not that you need my validation ) as I think an 8 is a good game and one to own. A 9 or 10 is a must have (if you like the genre).
An external 1TB harddrive isn't that expensive--the cost of a good AAA title and well worth the investment.
I'm with @get2sammyb on this one. Who wants to go back in technology? It's always moving forward, so get off your iPhone 4 and step into the new world.
"Hi! We're releasing a new PlayStation Classic Mini with 20 games. But we're not telling you what games are included upon announcement. Why? Well, we don't believe you need to be fully informed before you emotionally impulse buy it! Gotcha! Now, go buy it!"
@AnnetteM Thanks for the lovely review! I'm about 14 hours in and I am enjoying the gameplay a lot. I like the immersion feature (I agree with your negatives about the language--I would think Lara would know Spanish). Hiding all the silly gameplay hints of colored ledges, etc is a really nice touch. I think GoW would have benefited from this instead of just making the enemies tougher. GoW was too easy in this regard.
So far, the story has been a little bland, as you mentioned, but I'm okay with that. I am kicking butt with Lara Croft again, and it feels fine.
There are those that get Bloodborne, and those that don't. I've been replaying with a friend that recently bought a PS4 and now we've been playing a few times a week. Trying a whole new build and it's a different game.
Not sure how Journey is ahead of TLoU even when both were released on PS3.
@RebeccaStow97 Nice review and this is what I was waiting for to see about getting a racing game. It's been a long time and it's nice to see this one is a good one. I'm sure to pick this up.
@Kidfried That was my original thought on the disc. They hadn't gone gold with the other parts yet. @Jenny_Jones I hear ya. It's like their release dates are our gaming schedule.
On the fence; off the fence; on the fence; off the fence...
Okay! Okay! I'm pre-ordering tonight after work... sheesh I get it. I don't know why I'm hesitating, as I loved the PS2 game and the game-play footage from E3 was amazing. Thanks, @get2sammyb!
@adf86 I liked GoW, but I actually had more fun playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I enjoyed GoW story and the combat mechanics were great, but the overall game layout and skill-tree, etc wasn't that good, imho. It was rather linear and I've never been a fan of having to go back to old areas with new skills to progress... but anyway RDR2 looks AMAZING!! haha (Spider-man and Lara Croft first though)
I used to be disc-only-games kinda gal, but I mostly buy digital anymore. Could be the 5T external HDD that helped decide that though. Or maybe my lazy butt having to get up each time I want to change games.
@get2sammyb @kyleforrester87 The lack of Clank love on this site is truly staggering. Long live Clank! Ratchet would be nothing without Clank! His furry ears are too big to fit in those small pipes.
On one side that's cool because so much new content has been added. But on the other side, practically everything has changed, so you are almost starting from scratch: the materials, the blueprints, the components, etc.
All that hard work--gone. Yeah, I'm a little salty, but I will jump in with the new improvements and play with my friends. I did have fun last night.
@rjejr A previous update rewrote the foundation (it also destroyed that huge community built area) so they already did that. My old home planet was nice and after that update (I can't remember the update name), it was acid rain and storms and awful haha.
I want to find the most Alien looking planet and H.R. Giger some buildings and invite all my friends for some creep out. (at 1:14 looks pretty close! (except that cactus ))
I jumped back in this past weekend and I do enjoy the updates they've added. I finished one of the new sortylines and I liked it. You can really dig deep into components and building now. I'm looking forward to co-op play and creating a character in NEXT.
@kyleforrester87 They added and added and keep adding to Diablo III and it's way different and better than the original release. But I'm with you on the grindy-games; sometimes they are just too much work. And these days, I like my gaming to be more escapism than a second job
Although, I did get sucked back into NMS this weekend. Tidied up that questline and tried to figure out how to play again before NEXT.
Knocking the dust off my NMS to find out where I parked myself. I played after the last big update, so I’m not lost (minus the part if not knowing where I am) and looking forward to NEXT.
Need to finish up Mad Max.
My OCD wants me to go back and find all the stuff I missed in God of War.
My friend is dragging me back into Warframe.
Aaaand, Nex Machina is a BLAST! Glad I bought that one
@get2sammyb I wish that were true. I've been on the real-life receiving end of spewed hatred. I've had friends beaten walking home from the bar. The hate is real, unfortunately.

Well, it’ll be fun to roam around my state of Oregon in a zombie survival game. I don’t think Oregon’s been included in an open-world before.

Re: Soapbox: Publishers Want You to Pay to Play Early, And It's a Worry
I wouldn't pay to play early. I think that's rather silly. Can you imagine movies doing that? Pay $30 to see a movie a week early?
But if titles have gone gold, it doesn't cost the publishers any extra money to release them early--easy free money in the bank.
It only works if people pay.
Re: Camilla Luddington Unsure If She'll Return as Lara Croft
