Re: Soapbox: Don't Dismiss Bloodborne Because of Its Difficulty

Another point for this game is that it's similar to the old school platformer games like Castlevania. We didn't quit after dying from not dodging those stupid medusa heads, we get back in and learned the patterns. Bloodborne is all about the patterns and learning the areas.
Everything spawns in the same place. All mobs have tells. Dodging and patience are your best friend. And if a boss or area is tough, farm and level up and then move on. Leveling up will go a long way to help you progress.

I love this. Bloodborne has new life. I might have to drop back in and help some folks fight some bosses.

A note with the Hunter Axe, it does have a knockback in it's secondary form which can create some good space if you time your swings.

Bloodborne is all about timing. No hack and slashing here.

@grahamd Crazy good! Bloodborne DLC was damn good too.

@get2sammyb Sounds like a good PushSquare article: Best PS4 DLCs (though you might've done one a couple years ago)

Sypro! spreads her wings, hacks a fire ball and grabs some gems HUZZAH!

I hope they remaster Stewart Copeland's soundtrack from the first game. It's so good.

@Yowza Berzerker was an arcade game before it hit the 2600. That's where I was playing it back then.

The Save system is a no for me. Sleep to save is silly in this day of gaming. Sleep to keep from passing out, yes. But you shouldn't be punished for playing a game you can't save often in, especially if it's based on realism/increased difficulty.

And I'm with @get2sammyb , the time sync would be tough for me anyway, though it sounds interesting.

@F-racsO Play The Witcher 3 DLCs! Better than the main game in story. You won't regret it. It will make it all more amazing! And then you can just roll into NG+ when you're done.

@Nekoo77 I'm with you. It looks really fake.
If you have to login with your PSN, you might've just been duped.

I did my PSN name back when it began in 2006 and I'm happy as it reflects my love for astronomy. Then again, I was older so who knows what it would've been is I was a tween.

I missed the original back in the day (major life stuff back then) but I'm looking forward to this.

Now, how to figure out how to stop playing MH:W... nah. I'll wait to play this for a little while.

I've never played Monster Hunter before, and while there is a learning curve (of which I expected with any new IP), this game has surpassed my expectations. This game might be a rinse and repeat, but the depth and flexibility in gear/skills, monsters, and weapons makes this game the most fun I've had in a long time. 9/10 for me

"Um, hey there corporate machine? May I get a raise?"
"Why do you deserve more money?"
"Haven't you seen the list of PS4 games for 2018? Quality of life!"

Good gravy! That's a lot of amazing looking games... thank you for the list.

I think the feeling of Uncharted being overrated comes more from those players that might not have played the games upon first release. The Uncharted games have influenced/created a whole new action/adventure genre. Same can be said about TLOU, keeping in mind the games of that era, TLOU knocked genre doors down.

We have so many great games and such better storytelling these days, these classics can seem overrated for sure, but in their time and day, wow! Go Nathan! Go Garrus! Garrus is amazing, btw. My FemShep always had Garrus at her side.

I used the Feathered Bladed Spear most. Once you get all the bug buffs going and manage your flying about ability, it was really fun and powerful. Once of the easiest weapons to get your dino rodeo going! Dual Blades was a close second. The spiked war flute was fun to use and buff the party. Made me think of the EQ bard class.

Odd people complain about not beating a monster on the first try. Gamers are a fickle bunch. I would hate a game that was too easy and just rolled through. Timed events are not my favorite, but you are meant to fail as you level up your gear and craft materials then go back. It's an RPG/Action game.
