I don't mind this. This game looks like it could be very dense and engaging and it's nice not to have it rushed for release. 2018 has plenty to play! And there is still a back-log sitting on my PS4. I have a hard life...
Lara (powerful women that don't take crap we need more of them in gaming!) Joel (he's bad ass, but mostly because of his final choice... he is amazing) Senua (she deserves it just for her journey) Kratos (his voice is cool)
Another point for this game is that it's similar to the old school platformer games like Castlevania. We didn't quit after dying from not dodging those stupid medusa heads, we get back in and learned the patterns. Bloodborne is all about the patterns and learning the areas. Everything spawns in the same place. All mobs have tells. Dodging and patience are your best friend. And if a boss or area is tough, farm and level up and then move on. Leveling up will go a long way to help you progress.
I own both, but an excellent free month! It might be a good time to jump on Bloodborne and help out some new players on the wicked bosses. I enjoy that.
@Yowza shhhhhh... you'll ruin it for the younglings that think video games are only for them. No need for them to know there are those of us that never stopped playing video game since we were kids; oh... say 40 years ago.
@AFCC HR is purely set by the main story quest you are on. I just turned HR 15 and I believe I'm on on of the last main questlines. The high ranking stuff is opened at HR 12 I believe (if your quests are red stars, you're in the high ranking stuff).
I'm 130 hours in. I love this game. So many little things done right.
The Save system is a no for me. Sleep to save is silly in this day of gaming. Sleep to keep from passing out, yes. But you shouldn't be punished for playing a game you can't save often in, especially if it's based on realism/increased difficulty.
And I'm with @get2sammyb , the time sync would be tough for me anyway, though it sounds interesting.
@F-racsO Play The Witcher 3 DLCs! Better than the main game in story. You won't regret it. It will make it all more amazing! And then you can just roll into NG+ when you're done.
@Nekoo77 I'm with you. It looks really fake. If you have to login with your PSN, you might've just been duped.
I did my PSN name back when it began in 2006 and I'm happy as it reflects my love for astronomy. Then again, I was older so who knows what it would've been is I was a tween.
@ShogunRok Good gravy... 22 weeks? Seems long winded. Maybe consider bumping up the total votes on matches? I dunno... your tourney, your call. Maybe I'm caught up on the "gimme everything NOOOOOOAAAWWWWW" haha
I've never played Monster Hunter before, and while there is a learning curve (of which I expected with any new IP), this game has surpassed my expectations. This game might be a rinse and repeat, but the depth and flexibility in gear/skills, monsters, and weapons makes this game the most fun I've had in a long time. 9/10 for me
The combat system alone is worth GOTY, imo. On NG+ UH, it's as intense as Bloodborne but more fun. Planning out the different strategies for the different machines makes this game exceptional in the combat area.
"Um, hey there corporate machine? May I get a raise?" "Why do you deserve more money?" "Haven't you seen the list of PS4 games for 2018? Quality of life!"
Good gravy! That's a lot of amazing looking games... thank you for the list.
I think the feeling of Uncharted being overrated comes more from those players that might not have played the games upon first release. The Uncharted games have influenced/created a whole new action/adventure genre. Same can be said about TLOU, keeping in mind the games of that era, TLOU knocked genre doors down.
We have so many great games and such better storytelling these days, these classics can seem overrated for sure, but in their time and day, wow! Go Nathan! Go Garrus! Garrus is amazing, btw. My FemShep always had Garrus at her side.
I used the Feathered Bladed Spear most. Once you get all the bug buffs going and manage your flying about ability, it was really fun and powerful. Once of the easiest weapons to get your dino rodeo going! Dual Blades was a close second. The spiked war flute was fun to use and buff the party. Made me think of the EQ bard class.
Odd people complain about not beating a monster on the first try. Gamers are a fickle bunch. I would hate a game that was too easy and just rolled through. Timed events are not my favorite, but you are meant to fail as you level up your gear and craft materials then go back. It's an RPG/Action game.

On I.Q. alone, Garrus wins.... sheesh. Leon? Really? Ugh...
Re: New Burnout Paradise Remastered Trailer Heightens the Hype Ahead of Launch
$15 too much... loved this game though
Re: The Last of Us' Neil Druckmann Promoted to Vice President of Naughty Dog
@Shepherd_Tallon I have always wanted them to do this... please Disney, give Naughty Dog the rights to publish KOTOR action/adventure games!
Truthfully, I'd be happy with their own IP sci-fi story.

@nessisonett The Old Hunters DLC raised the bar... check it out if you haven't played it yet.
Re: God of War PS4 Pro Bundle Announced
Maybe they will actually have a graphic designer design these one day....
Re: Guide: Which Starting Weapon Should You Pick in Bloodborne?
I love this. Bloodborne has new life. I might have to drop back in and help some folks fight some bosses.
A note with the Hunter Axe, it does have a knockback in it's secondary form which can create some good space if you time your swings.
Bloodborne is all about timing. No hack and slashing here.
Re: Super Seducer, the Game About Getting Laid, Hits on PS4
This is awful
Re: Poll: How Strong Do You Think the PS4's Exclusive Lineup Is in 2018?
It would seem we are such a pessimistic group here if even the poll has a delay question. The industry has trained us well.
Re: Detroit: Become Human Makes Difficult Decisions on 25th May
I wasn't a fan of Heavy Rain, but I'm intrigued by this one. I might wait for reviews first though.
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Round 2 - Matches 73-76
@DerMeister You're outside the box, be proud!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 is 'Even More Ambitious' Than The Witcher 3
I'm looking forward to this. The detail CD Projekt Red puts into games is astonishing.
@PS_Nation If you have Netflix, check out the new series Altered Carbon. Right in your wheelhouse. I loved it.
Re: Ivy and Zasalamel Return in SoulCalibur VI
@AnitaSarkeesian Really? And your PushSquare ID? Wow. Get butt hurt much you have to go to those lengths?
Re: Review: Fe (PS4)
I really love the art style.
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Round 2 - Matches 69-72
It's interesting listening to the characters people like. Fun stuff!
P.S. Delsin is awful.
Re: Guide: The Best PS4 RPGs
@grahamd Crazy good! Bloodborne DLC was damn good too.
@get2sammyb Sounds like a good PushSquare article: Best PS4 DLCs (though you might've done one a couple years ago)

Sypro! spreads her wings, hacks a fire ball and grabs some gems HUZZAH!
I hope they remaster Stewart Copeland's soundtrack from the first game. It's so good.
@Yowza Berzerker was an arcade game before it hit the 2600. That's where I was playing it back then.
Re: Here's a Closer Look at Some of the PS4's Officially Licensed Controllers
The Controller People modify your own DS4 or they will provide one to modify. It can get expensive depending on the features you add, but I love mine.
Re: Weirdness: Lara Croft Barbie Looks Deep into Your Soul
Too bad you she's not all demure for you, eh? Poor sods.
The day Lara Croft is demure, is the day I hang up my pickaxe!

@crimsontadpoles Me neither and I tried after the patch installed. I'll try again later tonight.
Re: Guide: Monster Hunter: World Weapons - All Insect Glaives, Upgrade Trees, and How to Craft Them
Don't forget you also need to build and upgrade your insects.
Re: Guide: Monster Hunter: World Weapons - All Insect Glaives, Upgrade Trees, and How to Craft Them
@Splat I love this thing! Being new, I was unsure how it all worked and then finally it all clicked in. It's pretty powerful!

I've been really impressed with MH:W.

Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Round 1 - Matches 61-64
Spyro's soundtrack by Stewart Copeland was the first game soundtrack I listened to away from the game. Love it.
Re: Review: Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)
I missed the original back in the day (major life stuff back then) but I'm looking forward to this.
Now, how to figure out how to stop playing MH:W... nah. I'll wait to play this for a little while.
Re: Guide: Monster Hunter: World Weapons - All Insect Glaives, Upgrade Trees, and How to Craft Them
@NathanUC Thanks! My friend is amazing with this weapon and I'd like to get better at it.

Monster Hunter: World
Kerbal Space Program (for some reason I thought this was already available) for some fun relaxing gaming...
Re: Game of the Year 2017: #1 - Persona 5
Meh. Not my type of game, but I do appreciate the style. Maybe this game attracts a younger gamer, dunno. I just couldn't get into it.

Re: Monster Hunter: World's Main Story Will Take 40-50 Hours to Beat, Says Dev
Are they on a ship in that photo? Does that mean ship/monster battles on water? Whoa.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Order Is Established As the Releases Dry Up
SWBF 2 has free DLC dropping on Wed before the movie.
Re: Hands On: Monster Hunter: World Is Shaping Up to Be Something Very, Very Special on PS4
