Beware if looking for the newer PS4 Dualshock controller (the one when plugged in actually stops connecting via bluetooth eliminating input lag) as I don't believe it's in other colors yet. Make sure you get the CUH-ZCT2 version. It has the lightbar showing in the touchpad.
@ShogunRok This is great! Thank you. After so many hours playing this on the PS3, I'm not sure I'll be picking this up but if I do, I will bookmark this page for a refresher.
@Frank90 That might be true for quite a few games, but Old Hunters for Bloodborne was quite amazing and well worth the price of admission. I would rank it up there with the W3 two great DLCs.
Reviews are nice and Push Square has some of the best, including the community here. I'd rather have a thorough review than a timely review.
I usually only go to reviews if I'm sitting on the fence about a game. If I already know I'm going to buy a game like Horizon Zero Dawn, I will avoid reviews since I don't want to hit any spoilers. Keep up the great work!
They are trying to boost the player base that they ruined by splitting the Season Pass / DLC into separate player queues. If you've waited to play, this is a good deal. Truthfully, I wouldn't play this at all if it wasn't Star Wars.
This game could've been so much more... feels like Ep 1-3.
@get2sammyb The fact that you don't feel anything is "wrong" with it is exactly my point. You don't know what it's like to be a woman in this world where you are afraid to walk home; cross the street when a group of men walk towards you; getting unwanted advances and groped by men you don't know or care to know in public places. These are the things I'm talking about: perpetuating the objectification of women and "feeling it's okay." Granted, this VR game isn't quite doing the physical side of things, but it is "creepy" in it's implied nature per your own words. For me, if you wish to shift how women are treated — especially in video games, then yes you could ignore this VR piece. Just because it exists doesn't mean you have to show it. I do see your point on wanting to show it, I just disagree with it. Anyway, thanks for responding. This is a tough topic and it's a long road. @KAPADO I'm sure you will find of such VR "rooms" in the not so distant future; I'd just prefer to keep them out of my video games.
@Tasuki Right, because a game about young girls in a virtual setting is "okay" but the morality and objectification of women in such a game is not reproachable? Sorry, you can't have it both ways. @get2sammyb Video was okay, but being a woman I have to cringe at this and I am disappointed you would show this here as there are other ways to show off the new VR. Really, this just keeps perpetuating the male privilege and I thought you would know better — and if the "creep factor" is real, why show it?
@get2sammyb I thought the voice-actor was from the UK? I wasn't aware her accent was so poor... I'm a poor spotter for such tings being across the pond myself. I enjoy the new TR series, though the shaky-cam stuff can be tiresome. Tired of it in the movies too.
@Galvatron Very well said. I think the hype of complaints fits the hype of the game. Seems a lot of people complaining and cheering over this never played the game. Our world is so negative even when it comes to the things that give us joy.
You could have this same investigation into Destiny, or even more so into Star Wars Battlefront.
I'm thinking to myself, "Shhhh, leave Hello Games alone. They need to keep the updates coming." Oh. I get it.
@Quintumply These are so much fun! Thanks for writing and sharing. I enjoy all the unique ways the NMS universe unfolds for people.
(just a little tip): When you are inside one of the Atlas interfaces, hop around the obsidian floor with the lights. Each light holds vocabulary words of the race whose sector you happen to be visiting.
@Neolit Exactly my AC experience. Loved AC2. It was well written and the voice acting wonderful. Black Flag was very fun, but yes, no Ezio. A shame the movie didn't use the Ezio character, but something new is exciting. I sure hope it's not a flop.
@Fenriswolf- The gullible interwebs... sadly it happens all too often. Even worse when it applies to more than just gaming consoles and games: like voting.
All the PS4 updates have improved the game. The UI is better than release too. I simply fell in love with this game and the DLC expansions are even better. I'm really looking forward to the next gaming chapter for CD Projekt Red.
I haven't played in months. "Dev Works on Fixing the Core Game" and yeah, it needs it. And people talk about No Man's Sky crashing and bugs. This game was really bad at release.
I crash pretty often. I've been trying to determine if I'm connected to their servers or not when it happens. I could repeat a few crashes every time, as some have been when opening a blueprint or vault. Most times it's when I jump to a new system. I think I have a faulty hyperdrive system.
For getting a lot of units, look for gold. Sounds obvious, but one of the planets in my starting solar system had gold; big monolith shiny towers of gold. It sells really really well.
TIP: When exploring, look for drop ship pods. They contain inventory slots for your suit! Of course, for a fee.
I'm against the objectification of women portrayed which reinforces stereotypes when young kids/boy/young adult males feel it's the status quo to do this to woman. Because of games like this, it perpetuates the ongoing culture that women are less than men. My 12 y/o nephew made a video with his pals calling girls sluts and whores with lewd comments. He's an avid gamer. I wonder where he gets his viewpoint?
@ApostateMage Yeah, I like less photo-realism in my fantasy games. UC:4 was amazing, too. I'm just not a fan of this art style graphics. It looks great, though!
The implementation of online play has shifted gaming for me when it comes to consoles. I love to play games with my friends and there are some fun co-op games out now, though I hope for more non-shooter types. I do enjoy the solo games, but it sure would be fun to have a friend join me in the Witcher 3! As we're all a little nostalgic, I began on Pong and Atari 2600. ColecoVision, but I loved Intellivision. NES, but SNES was more fun. Sega Genesis lasted a long time too. Once the PlayStation hit, I've stayed with Sony.
Katana sword combat. SOLD! Shield Maiden viking warrior. SOLD! Strong single player campaign? HOPE SO! Interesting PvP match/modes? HOPE SO! Definitely has my interest.
Maybe more transparency of what's going on would be more professional. Granted, most of the gaming community is pretty harsh and judgemental, but I'd rather know, than not know. Just like when a game is delayed: delay it if it makes it better.
"Rumour has it that Kratos will once again occupy the lead role in what is rumoured to be a gory spin on Norse legend" I would've been happier to leave Kratos behind and move onto another mythical story and character. Mass Effect, RDR2, For Honor, Last Guardian, HZD are on my list. It sure feels great to be a gamer these days.
From a Q&A answered by Ubisoft: For Honor will have an offline campaign (and the complete details about that dimension of the experience will come at a later date), cooperative playing experience, and online multiplayer! Where you can conquer foes alone or with friends.
@ApostateMage :: sigh :: I thought I had an older save for this, but I didn't. I will have to do NG+ to get the achievement. How are you liking the new gwent deck Skellige? I found it really fun. I had to rethink my play style coming off of the Northern Realms cache of spy cards.
@Rudy_Manchego Even more so, as with the original game disc packaging, you get a map and the soundtrack CD! Who does this anymore? I'm glad CD Prokekt Red remembers the love of gaming. Both DLCs are fantastic, with my nod on Blood and Wine for my favorite.
@ShogunRok My Geralt is team Yen. I've actually played them both out, but really enjoy Yen and Geralt's no-nonsense relationship. They both know who they are and that fits perfect in my mind.

Re: God of War's PS4 Gameplay Video Is Now Sony's Most Viewed Trailer
Too much shaky-camera stuff. I'm not a fan of that at all.

@JoeBlogs Finish Skyrim? Is that possible?

HUZZAH!
@Neolit Me too.
Re: Review: Windlands (PS4)
@get2sammyb @AlexStinton I'm wondering if you can begin to put "PS4 VR" category to help us differentiate game reviews.
Thanks!

@FaultyDroid I feel the same and couldn't have stated it better.

Re: Sony's Turning to Third-Parties for an Elite PS4 Controller
@DoublezZ01 Wow. Thanks for the EMiO link. That's an impressive looking controller. I am seriously tempted to get it.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition Arrives from a Galaxy Far, Far Away
@Utena-mobile Me too! Playing an Action/Adventure SW game would be amazing in the lines of Uncharted/Horizon or even a more Mass Effect style.
Oh, and the last DLC of Rogue One is not out yet for anyone. Comes out in December. They just released the 3rd Death Star DLC.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Official, Launches Fall 2017 on PS4
@Bluetrain7 Yeah, I found it interesting too. I just hope they stay strong with the story / single player or through in some fun co-op along the way.
@slimcrowder Because dull is well, dull. We want PAZAZZ!
