@get2sammyb the thing is aren't high quality assets created anyway. Those assets are then optimised into several lods. I think that removing of extra work of creating the lower quality assets was a big target for ue5.

Honestly very middle of the road, apart from the few minutes in the end. Some trailers like the eve game and extraction were unnecessarily long. In a vacuum this was a good show but considering that Sony has been radio silent for most of this time it was a little underwhelming. Insomniac though, they have been on complete fire.

I think it's a mistake that Microsoft are launching the series s as a diskess console, because if they really try to sell it in regions where the low price might be more appealing, those regions also tend to be more of a physical buying regions as well. I had hoped that series s had a disk drive that would have made it a no brainer tbh.

I don't get it though, why? I understand releasing a version with switch content but just a direct port on a system that already has the game. Just what's the logic behind this apart from of course pure laziness. All it does is confuse people that too on one of your biggest franchises.

I didn't planned to buy the ps5 day 1 anyway, so depending on how Sony approaches the porting to pc, i.e. if it's like a set period of time before they release on pc or maybe the very idea is still being tested and if doesn't pans out well they will just scrap it. Who knows at this moment but I don't mind the move itself.

What I am more uncertain about is the overall move towards the more subscription based future we seem to be moving, the reason I brought this up is because it makes sense for Sony to try to bring their games to pc to make psnow more competitive with gamepass. I like the whole play any game you want but at the end of the day I wonder how it's gonna affect the state of game preservation as well as the fact that a pretty part of the world simply can't take advantage of this right now.

So whatever happens right now I have a wait and watch approach to this all.

2020 is shaping up to be huge for gaming, not only on software side with all these awesome games coming out but also on the hardware front for basically all platforms. Can't wait.

Not sure how well turn based combat will work in a Yakuza game but if the rgg studio were confident enough to change things like this, must say I am really looking forward to how this turns out. For all the great games they have developed I believe they deserve this much belief in them.

@ShogunRok all jokes aside these guys do seem to know how to make great looking games, just watched about their mobile game called honkai impact and that also looks pretty good.

While being cross gen is fine, does it even matters considering that both ps5 and scarlett are gonna be fully backwards compatible and seeing backwards compatibility on xbone I don't think it's a far fetched idea that there will be improvements to game themselves while playing on newer hardware.

I don't know. I've been trying to get excited for this but it just looks so meh and without any personality unlike insomniac's spider man. Maybe instead of a team up game marvel should've tried another singular hero adventure. Well let's hope I am wrong.

Must say, Sony completely stole their thunder for the next gen announcement. Everything from noteworthy features to buzzwords, we already expected all of that for their announcement. Sony seems to be playing a rather interesting game.
