Re: Ghost Giant - A PSVR Masterpiece

@Flaming_Kaiser Exactly! I don't know why more people can't see it this way. If you're willing to pay $10-11 for a two-hour movie in a theater, which you can only see once there, then why wouldn't you pay $20-25 for a 5+ hour game that you can replay endlessly?

Re: Sony's New Website Lets North American Users Check Their PlayStation Gaming Stats for 2018

Wow, after reading the comments, I am realizing that I do not put in as much time as I thought on gaming compared to other gamers here (516 hours for me). But these were my top three games and I was surprised by how much I put in the top two because I enjoyed my hours with them so much that I did not realize the time passing:
Red Dead Redemption 2 – 97 hours
God of War – 91 hours
Spider- Man – 58 hours

Re: Shadow of the Tomb Raider Owners Aren't Happy with How Fast the Price's Dropped

A good rule of thumb:
Does it come out between August and November? Do you want to save money? If yes to both then wait and buy it for 25-50% off at Black Friday/Cyber Monday. It’s that simple. For example, I got Mafia III and the Bioshock Collection for half price less than two months after each released. Don’t complain if you choose not to be a smart consumer of games.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 236

Bluetrain7

Spider-Man all weekend. I’ve been playing it since it released on Thursday at midnight. Put about 10 hours in so far, mostly in exploring, street crimes, and side missions. Leveling up fairly quickly at 11 already (50 looks like the cap). I'm loving it. Insomniac does brilliant game design. Just like Ratchet and Clank, you feel underpowered at first but they introduce new skills and gadgets that make you into a real hero. It does feel heavily influenced by the Arkham games, but it has a distinct personality and humor. The world building is deep and intriguing. The combat and swinging mechanics are perfectly honed. Neither is super complicated but mastery of them is a satisfying journey. The easter eggs sprinkled throughout the game show the care and love that they have for Spider-Man’s history and the whole Marvel comic universe.

Re: Bomb Defusing Party Game Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes to Drop PSVR Requirement

I am not sure it would have the same appeal for me in a non-VR setting. Part of the charm when I play it on PSVR is the isolation of having to defuse the device in front of me that the instructors cannot see. The VR player has a tactile sense of manipulating the device and the instructors cannot peak at it. I am happy more people get to try it, but I do not think it will provide the same intensity of experience.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay Trailer Takes Aim Tomorrow

I would love it if they did another "Gameplay Series" like they did with the original. They had a narrator, with a great voice, who broke down the gameplay into "Introduction", "Life in the West", "Multiplayer", and "Weapons & Death". They are all still available for viewing on Rockstar's YouTube channel.

Re: Guide: The Best PSone Games We Want on a PlayStation Classic Mini

Bluetrain7

These early games are so hard to jump back into for me. The low polygon count makes them visually unappealing compared to some other classic systems with 2D graphics or even 16-bit. The old control schemes are a challenge to adjust to also.

For me, I would rather play a remaster/rebuild like the Crash trilogy. My memories of these PS1 games are nice how they exist. I would prefer not to have them shattered by a mini-console of the unaltered versions. That does not mean that others cannot have fun with it though, it is just not for me.

Re: Sony Won't Be Holding a Traditional Press Conference at E3 2018

If we get long gameplay chunks for these games then I can't see why there is disappointment. That is literally what many people have been begging to have more. These are four strong exclusives that showcase what the PS4 is all about.

If it is true that the PS5 development is ramping up then why would they spend time with a bunch of new announcements either? 2019 is building up as a banner year. The Last of Us launched in the twilight of PS3's peak so it would be fitting that Part II closes out the main chapter of PS4's peak.

Re: Feature: What New PS4 Exclusives Could Sony Reveal at E3 2018?

@RogerRoger I am totally on board as long as it does not involve Nate. I feel like that arc was tied up perfectly and we do not need a prequel or sequel to that storyline.

I loved Lost Legacy. I believe a different studio could create a great Uncharted game. Would it reach the height of Naughty Dog? Maybe no, but I am not ready to leave these characters (and voice actors) behind.
