Was watching this earlier today and honestly not a bad move, gameplay in the first sucked and was a big detractor from what was a really strong game all around imo.
I don't really like the look of it but I'm assuming they'll still fine tune it + anything is better than the first game's 'combat'
@BIG3 yh that's certainly a shame then, was actually just looking at its storepage and some of these screenshots are super nice damn But the half naked characters kinda take away from it for me as well 🥲
Finally some news from them, they've been on this for ages 😭 Glad to know we're finally getting at least a title for the devs of one of the best rpgs from last gen 😮💨
@SamMR kind of reminds me of Spiders. Really interesting story and world building but just bad game mechanics. Their games makes me appreciate AAA games.
If they make a new IP I wonder where they'll go with it. Don't suppose we get a futuristic title, we've seen some form of medieval europe inspired stuff, also got Japan.
@Tomato_Goose nah I agree. GOW is mad unadulterated fun, I'll never understand the halo hype. Actually quite liked infinite and played its mp for a while but it's nowhere near my fav ever fps games. Sadly the old ones are outdated. On another note, granted Doom and Wolfenstein are already on ps as is but do that many people not want a new game in the series on ps yo 😭 Also not even a mention of Dishonored wtf
@Enigk sounds like a pipedream.
How would you even begin to prosecute someone over some mean words they said online 😂
@Blaze215 I could see that being cooked up by their pr team 💯
@themightyant atlas fallen failed? That's a bummer, thought it looked pretty neat. And wish Focus nothing but success. Also in fairness this doesn't launch for 80, it's only 60, though if AF wasn't a success story at just 50 I dunno what to say 😭
@MikeOrator oh yh I agree for the most part. I have had some great experiences playing turn based games. Just sick of it at the same time.
I played DQ11, thought it was great albeit a tad ugly because iirc it was a switch port. Liked it a lot and would've finished it, at a certain point however I was under levelled for some reason and fights took me ages. Just got to being a menial task at that point and lost all enjoyment whatsoever.
Same happened with Yakuza LAD, enjoyed it quite a lot until the Saejima x Majima boss fight. Still love the game but what a detractor that was.
Octopath Traveller is also a similar situation. Can't say I really remember the specifics of it though 🤔
Which is a real shame because I thought the game looked lovely.
Sea of Stars is another game I quit early last year. Liked it, was written wonderfully but it became tedious very fast. The whole interactive combat thing where you could time your attacks with the characters and even hit multiple times as well on some attacks was a wonderful addition I would like to see in more turn based games.
And yh Larian is great at it, I still haven't finished Div Original Sin 2 (16 ~ hours) but I can attest to the fact that it is simply one of the very best rpgs I have ever played.
Sadly, I can't get that enjoyment from many other rpgs, and again I haven't managed to ever pick it up again though I believe that might partly be because I picked it up on pc.
I will say though I'd like to see turn based combat branch out to other genres.
Lemnis Gate released way back in 2021, caught my eye because I don't I had seen a turn based fps in that style ever before.
It died rather quickly and I never even played it but I wouldn't mind more of that.
Anyway I remember you as a big yakuza fan, happy gaming man. I hope inf wealth hits it out of the park.
@Bez87 I agree, I'm glad they changed things up succesfully and it was one hell of a node to classic rpgs as a whole but at the same time it was so frickin tedious at times. Especially some of the boss fights. Turn based should just stay as a thing of the past. Relic of an old age.
@vyseofhr was thinking the same after reading through it.
Some titles stand out but after all the hype on this site about 2024 being a stunning year I don't see it happening lol
@MrGilly69 wow did you actually put over 10,000 hours in those games 😯
@Northern_munkey one of the worst games I have ever played. Felt very unfinished, kind of inbetween indie and AA as well. But it does have a good lovecraftian story to it. Sinking City felt like a waste of time to me, mainly because a friend gifted it to me else it would've been a waste of money as well. Its performance is nothing but suboptimal as well, granted I did play this way back when on ps4, it might've gotten patched since. I prefer the Call of Cthulhu game if you want some HP Lovecraft goodness.
@Northern_munkey I'm currently playing through remnant 2 as well! About 17 hours in, did two heavy sessions over the last two days. I do often hear people saying that the remnant games aren't soulslike and I can kind of see the argument. I'm personally more in disagreement with the people who say the respawn jedi games are soulslikes. At least the first game is fairly easy (haven't played the second yet) and beyond the metroidvania level design to it it doesn't share anything else with the fromsoft titles. It's just a linear action adventure that even has fleshed out cutscenes (beyond the usual fromsoft boss fight cutscenes). I get that the remnant games are very rng heavy, based on replayability and has a more accessible story to it but at the same time its focus on various builds reminds me a lot of the fromsoft games, that and navigating through the world finding items that are loosely related to a random npc and its crystals that serve as bonfires. In my opinion they have a very fromsoft feel to them when I play them. But again I can see why someone would say they aren't soulslikes. Damnnn and you picked up wo long as well, you got a type fr.
Best soulslike I've ever played, even better than the nioh and remnant games 😮💨 I'd daresay even better than the majority of fromsoftware's outings. And it still has room to grow with its dlc on the way.
@Grimwood exact same thing? Anything but the destruction physics sure but that's what sets it apart in the end. Besides its patches are great. It's already gotten its second event and the game's only been out for two weeks 😮💨
@themightyant bit of an odd comparison to make because annapurna does films as well, and A24 seems to be going into more 'higher' budget films, or at least looking that way lately.
That Civil War trailer is beautiful 😮💨
But I get it, it's a great fit for DS. One of the very best studios in the business partnering with Kojima.
Has that Peele x Kojima partnership vibes written all over it.

Regarding the line-up, if it means I can recruit more randos for clubs that's a w. Wanted to play ghostrunner 2 some day as well so it's great.
@Netret0120 clubs is pretty neat, as broke as the other game modes ofcourse but at least you can suffer with other people 🙏
