I need more free time! On a personal, life choices, level this is such a disappointing fact. (genuinely love the game, but am about 60-70% percent through)
Somebody actually made an argument to me few weeks back how this game made it worth getting GP for November on it's own.. That didn't work out quite well. Ever since gameplay trailer it was obvious it wasn't going to be very good.
10/10 from me. People have different tastes in gaming, and I can understand not everybody will judge it like I do. But man, it's fun and immersive. Small detail, like having to pull back your axe manually makes so much difference, and makes both GOW reboot games mechanics so engaging.
@naruball HFW is in a lot of people 3-5 best games of the year. That is hardly a flop or disappointing outcome, and there are worse things to be forced into getting as consumer (cough cough, Destruction All Stars).
Glad GOWR has seized No. 1. That list always reminds me how much Nintendo still "owns" physical sales. Sonic game will just have to wait for me, I plan to turn every stone and open every chest in GOWR
Awesome casting, as soon as he entered the scene for the first time you could just feel his performance owning the "room". I believe that sort of energy was needed for somebody of Odin status.
Ideally, it's an option that can be turn on/off. But I'm not too bothered by it, as long as there is more than a 3-second timer before they start throwing spoilers.
I just love Sony and this studio.. game being called the most polished AAA experience in years, and then this is their day one patch (showing how much more they are willing to do).
Well that's a disappointment. PC3 I could care less about, but Dirt 5 was very underrated. Personally, I liked it over FH5. Also Dirt rally 2.0 had a very specific vibe which I'm not sure is going to transfer over to rebranded WRC title (assuming they target the same audience and driving model of old WRC titles).
@4kgk2 it's different games and audiences. Me personally, not a fan of Elden ring. Would vote GOWR and HFW above it. But that does not mean general opinion agrees.
I'm playing PS4 version on purpose, just wanted to say that. PS5 version is not significantly better, in any way that matters and uses my precious SSD space. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm not alone in this. Sony's handling of both version's accessibility has gone from bad to great (PS5 version by default, easily accessible PS4 version).
I expected this price to be honest. It's a high-end product, and I'm sure even with such a steep price tag they will lose money on it. Compared to PSVR1, I don't think it's actually that much more expensive? For the usable setup that is (with controllers and camera)
@MightyDemon82 no idea, been gaming for over 30 years and never actually purchased one. I have tried at friends or acquired through subscriptions many though. And never quite understood what makes them such a money maker.
@sword_9mm I actually played it on XSS, but didn't think it was relevant for my score (if anything, 900p low resolution adds some artifacting and shimmering due to upscaling techniques that don't work on such sample, but I'm aware of that just being XSS). XSX might fare better, not sure.
7/10 for me. Art and design are great, but gameplay is lacking and framerate is just too distracting. Not sure what it is, but this game feels like it's 20 FPS when it's 30, and 30 when it's 40. And as with any new release, there is a healthy dose of bugs and roughness around the edges. With that all said, still decent, joy to watch in static, and with a performance patch could be very good.
Preordered it because I wanted to save a few bucks. There was never any doubt in my mind this wasn't going to be Sony at its best. Polished like a hood of a supercar. Or a certain God's axe. Anyway, as long as they keep making these perfect single-player games I'm gonna keep buying them. And no, there is really no valid alternative to PS when it comes to that.
Might actually be a problem for Xbox users. It's a perfect example of games where it might make sense to download last gen version to save on fast storage.. which Series S does not have a lot
It's well known that game development has some of the smartest people in software development, but also some of the worst practices and working patterns in any industry.
One can only imagine what could be produced with such brains and structure most already enjoy. Not surprised though, there was a reason Sony and Cerny specifically wanted to acquire Haven Studios people.
HZD is still one of the better looking games out there. What would even be significantly improved in this remaster? Ain't paying for it (and I'm admittedly a huge fan of the games).
Great game, always felt it didn't get it's fair shoot on PS5 during launch. If anything, I feel it would review better today. I hope PC and deck owners give it some much deserved love.
Recently played through Man of Medan and Little Hope on PS5, so the update won't impact me immediately. But I'm planning on getting the inevitable Session pack and replaying through all 4 games.
I'm ok with owning my big games. Also, full transparency, I have been utterly disappointed by the quality of AAA games that were day 1 on GP. I don't want that for PS Plus as a service, nor am I willing to pay 15$ a month for it (once my casually stacked 3 years for dimes runs out).
@sword_9mm people seem to forget for some these games originally ran at 50Hz, and that is how they remember them. Keeping an option to provide original experience, or superior variant, beats just offering 60Hz.
Awesome news, would be great if it becomes standard. Not playing a lot of retro games myself, but this puts the biggest gripe people had with PS implementation to rest.
Finally finished Kena: Bridge of spirits on my PS5, and might try out Wo Long demo I downloaded tomorrow. Moved on to Trek to Yomi on XSS in meantime (cleaning backlog).
@MaikonCSGarcia you do understand that is not how the economy works? Also, my comment was targeted specifically at the fate of Activision Blizzard, because as this drags on it is becoming apparent they will dissolve following either option. Or downscale significantly. Either way, it's a shame, for a company that owns such a huge collection of legendary IPs.
My main concern is that the end outcome of this situation is going to be Activision Blizzard ceasing to exist. Be that by MS ruining it, or taking a hit after deal fails to close. Either way, not good.
Not sure why, but 99% of media out there is only covering Deathloop joining GP next week, when it is in fact joining PS Plus Extra on the EXACT SAME day. Go figure.. By the way, it's a decent game, everybody should at least try it.
Exactly what went through my mind while I was watching State of Play. GoT is such a remarkable game with lasting impression, it's hard to even rate it with existing rubric.
Jim gets laughed at a lot, but I like his move here. MS made it a habit lately to release ambiguous messaging to public, that presents them as good guys at the first glance. But there is typically a passive aggressive undertone. Kudos to Jim for making it transparent, telling it how it is. S*it stinks in both yards.
@Smash41 this argument was thrown around way more often at the beginning of the generation. As time goes on, I would say Smart Delivery makes my life way more complicated (Series S) than Sony's approach. If anything I would say PS way is quicker and simpler (no drive juggling and second guessing, one you choose is the one you get).

Re: God of War Ragnarok Is the Fastest-Selling First-Party Sony Game Ever
Well deserved. it is the best PlayStation game in a while, but with surprisingly good competition

Honestly, I'm satisfied with Extra currently. Especially with Black Friday sale offer.
With that said, no idea what he is talking about..

Re: 20 More PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available Now on PS5, PS4
As an Extra tier sub, there might be few games for me here. Still, a tough sell for Premium folk.

Re: PSVR2 Launches 22nd February 2023, Costs $550
@IonMagi you do know you don't actually have to buy anything for BC. Just keep what you have, and it's not BC, it's just C. Works like a charm.

It's gonna be DS2.
