Re: Talking Point: What New Trophy Features Do You Want on PS5?

DragonSlayer1759

I prefer the xbox achievement system. You get a constant feeling of progression with it. The Trophy system on the other hand makes it more difficult to level up the higher you get. Ive been at level 14 for a couple of years now, which gives me no sense of progression at all. I will be to old to play (im 60 at the moment) when I eventually get to level 15, and I will be dust before I would get to level 16.

Re: Snooker 19 - Solid PS4 Potter Is Right on Cue

DragonSlayer1759

I found this game to be really disappointing. Graphically its a mess, some of the players don't look anything like themselves. Commentary is pathetic ('this shot has put the frame out of reach of his opponent', when no balls have been potted yet). Applause from the crowd suddenly stops. This sort of stuff destroyed my feeling of immersion in the game. Even the options for viewing all the angles for your shot are limited. No option to play as yourself with your own name in career mode. There is skill progression at all.

Really disappointed. There are far better pool games out there.

Re: Days Gone's 1.06 Patch Is Reportedly Crashing Some PS4s

DragonSlayer1759

I'm about 10-15 hours in. I downloaded 1.06 this morning and played for a couple of hours with no issues so far. Just lucky so far I think. I did have one issue before 1.06 when the all the sound less the dialogue cut out. I had to restart my ps4 pro to get it working properly again. But as I said, that was before 1.06.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Days Gone? And Are You Enjoying It?

DragonSlayer1759

I agree with tatsumi. I'm enjoying the game a lot, but its lacking something that I just cant put my finger on. Graphically Bend did a great job and I hope they continue with a sequel as there is plenty of promise in this IP. You can see the influence that other games like The Last of Us, Uncharted and even GTA and others has had on this game with all of their game mechanics mixed up in it.
The only bug I've hit so far is all the sound except speech cut out. I had to come out of the game and reload (which is very slow).

Re: Poll: Do We Still Need Review Scores?

DragonSlayer1759

I thinks scores are fine. I use them as a guide and not as gospel. Obviously everyone like different things in games but providing there are multiple reviews it normally levels out at a fair average score. I prefer out of 100 as opposed to 10.

Re: Hands On: Dragon Quest XI Is a Really Refreshing Return to Japanese RPG Greatness

DragonSlayer1759

Looking forward go getting this tomorrow. I used to love the old style jrpg's. FFX was my favourite. Blue Dragon was ok but seemed to drag on a bit. Lost Odyssey was also good.
Ive never played a Dragons Quest title before but from what ive seen this looks good. I like that there are no random encounters and you just fight the ones you want to. This should keep me busy till Tombraider comes out.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance Save System Improvements in the Works

DragonSlayer1759

Im still playing it and loving it despite the issues. The main bit that needs improving to me is the lockpicking. That is so hard with a controller. It took me while to find out how to repair my armour and weapons, by which time mine was nearly all broken. Its great not having your hand held all the time but it has been a shock to the system. I love the battle mechanics. Saving the game is no issue to me as there are plenty of camps dotted arround. I hope they dont change the saving back to a save anywhere encouraging players to save prior to anything tricky like Skyrim. Just a few glitchy bits to sort out like getting stuck on doorways etc.

Re: Sprawling Medieval RPG Kingdom Come Looks Gigantic and Janky in 17 Mins of Gameplay

DragonSlayer1759

At last. A proper RPG that does not hold your hand. Although i liked Skyrim it was far to easy. All you had to do was follow the markers on your map. No thinking or planning.
This on the other hand looks hard. It leaves you to work out what to do and where to go. Reminds me of Morrowind in that respect. As for the combat, it looks pretty real to me. Those swords were heavy, and as for the bows, well, not having a crosshair will catch a lot of people out.
I really hope this game is a success, but i fear it wont be, simply because of the effort you will have to put in to progress.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Enjoying Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4?

DragonSlayer1759

Its superb on the pro. Only 2hrs in and finding it hard to stop. Gameplay is great and the story seems interesting to me. Kinda seems like a cross between Far cry 4, Assassins Creed, Rise of the Tombraider, all games that I like so that's good for me. Graphically, what can I say other than its the best looking game ive ever played. The details are amazing, you can see ants going up and down some trees, amazing. This game has moved the goalposts for all new games.
Gonna stop now and go back to playing it.

Re: Bethesda Speaks Out: Sony Will Not Allow Fallout 4 or Skyrim Mods on PS4

DragonSlayer1759

This news sucks. I have both the ps4 and xbox one at present and am looking to upgrade one to the ps pro or xbox slim. So far with the ps pro there is the uhd player missing while the xbox slim has one. Now this for fallout and the elder scolls, my favourite franchises. Im also sure more xbox games will use mods in future. Up till now the pro was my best bet but now the xbox slim is beginning to look better. I am stuck between the two at the moment but sony are beginning to drop behind in my view.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS4 Pro?

DragonSlayer1759

Yep, I'm getting one to replace my launch ps model. I have a 55" 4k UHD telly so I will be able to make full use of it. The lack of a UHD blue ray player doesn't bother me at all as all the 4k content I use is streamed. Who on earth still buys 4k discs at £20 and more a shot? Sony have got it right I think sticking to streaming, that has to be the future. £350 is a good price although I think they should have gone for £450 and used the extra 100 to increase the console power even more, I know I would have gone for that.

Re: Reaction: Shrewd Sony Looks to Continue Market Domination with PS4 Pro

DragonSlayer1759

I found the reveal a little dull. Once again hype had set our visions to high. All the talk of the neo being made more powerful to compete with the scorpio. In the end it is the same specs we already new about. The lack of a 4k blue ray player could be a big mistake like other posters have mentioned. Even the considerably weaker xbox slim has one. I dont watch movies very often but when I do I normally use netfix or similar so it doesnt bother me but it will disappoint many. Probably the only way to keep the price down. Ive already preodered my pro from shopto though.

Re: Soapbox: No Man's Sky on PS4 Is the Biggest Disappointment of 2016

DragonSlayer1759

I totally disagree with the title of this section. It isn't a disappointment to me at all. In fact I'm enjoying it more than expected.
It makes such a change to be able to roam around at your own leisure without being shot at from all angles. Its a very in depth rpg/survival game to me which leaves you to find out how it works, without being told everything in the first few minutes.
As for the story, at the moment I don't care. I'm just enjoying being an adventurer and making my own story. I dare say at some stage I may drift to the story, but not yet.
Yes, there is a lot of time spent in your inventory but that's no problem with me.
A lot of people say its boring and repetitive but I find games like COD and Battlefield repetitive, shooting, dying, respawning and little else.
There is also more to come from the developers in future, updates like base building etc. so the game is going to get even larger and better.
I think more games like this will come in the future, and Hello Games should be given the credit they deserve for trying to break the mould.
The game does have issues, every game does, but its not at all bad. It is just a question of taste. Marmite springs to mind.

Re: Expect a Fallout 4: Far Harbor Performance Improving Patch Next Week on PS4

DragonSlayer1759

Bethesda always seem to get away with these issues. Skyrim was a joke at first on the ps3. Funny enough they seem to akways have more issues on the ps than the xbone. Their developers can only seem to do their jobs properly on xbox stuff and not ps stuff. They always give xbox all the extras first. It seems like they seem to go out of there way to mess up on the ps. I wonder if they have shares in ms.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy an Upgraded PS4K?

DragonSlayer1759

As I have a 4k telly, yes I'm interested, but the driving force to me is the price. The price of the VR alone will set you back £400 inc camera. It will also depend on how much trade in I could get for my existing ps4. I'm just a little disappointed that Sony didn't release a more powerful unit to start with.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Upgrade to a Supercharged PS4?

DragonSlayer1759

It would depend on the money side of things forme. If Sony were to offer a decent trade in on the ps4 to enable me to purchase the upgraded model, I would look seriously at it. If I had to fork out a fortune for the upgraded model they can forget it. The price o the VR is nearly £400 so to fork out something like say, another £450 for the new console, that would be way out of my league.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Is the Most Stunning PS4 Game to Date

DragonSlayer1759

Most trailers you see are done on the pc where the graphics look brilliant (the Division for example). Then when it appears on the PlayStation its been downgraded graphically to enable it to run at a decent framerate.
This on the other hand was designed only for the ps4 and should end up looking as good as the trailers. I loved the first three Uncharteds and cant wait for this one, but, I wonder how long it will be. I hope its longer than 8 hours.

Re: November 2015 NPD: PS4 Smashes Xbox One in Important Holiday Month

DragonSlayer1759

So much for Halo being the xbone saviour. Where was it...number 8 in the charts. As for tomb raider, a game that looks great, what a disaster for ms. If the xbone was to start to compete with the playstation, november was their big chance. Dont forget they lanched their windows 10 aswell on the console. I can only see the ps4 getting even more dominant now that the xbone have fired all their guns as it were.

Re: Poll: How Well Is Fallout 4 Running on Your PS4?

DragonSlayer1759

Mine is running great at the moment. Of all the Bethesda games ive played so far, this runs the best. Ive read on the web about some game breaking bugs, but so far so good for me. As for frame rate drops, I havnt noticed any yet, but I play so slowly I would probably not notice lol. Im enjoying this more than Fallout 3. I never thought I would say thay

Re: Talking Point: Is the PlayStation 2 the Greatest Games Console of All Time?

DragonSlayer1759

I will probably enrage many on this site to say that my favourite console was the xbox 360. The ps2 was great and I loved it, but there was something about the 360 that I really enjoyed. The interface, and, just about everything seemed ro click in place ( despite the rrod problems ). Thats what makes the xbone really disappointing. Ive owned most consoles since the sinclair spectrum and my top 2 are 1. 360
And 2. Ps2
And 3. Ps1

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4?

DragonSlayer1759

I have this on pre order for the xbone. I have both consoles for this situation. I, as others have slready said, hope this game flops terribly on the ps4 to teach all developers a lesson. I think sqeeenix thought the xbone would be the biggest seller when this agreement was originally made as it makes no sense otherwise.
cant really blame ms though as sony do the same thing. Cross platform games should be released simultaneously across those platforms.
