A new FIFA entry. EA are really spoiling us with these surprises. If the new game involves kicking a ball about I will fall off my chair. In other news, water is wet.

If Man of Medan leaves Extra people will be glad they claimed it when it was included in the Essential membership. Unless of course Sony screw it up and if you claim it in July while being an Extra member you only get it as an Extra addition and when it leaves only Essential members get to keep it.

@Pat_trick Especially when the PS4 Remaster is available with the basic PS Plus membership on the PS5.

@nessisonett It hasn't really changed in years although it's not as good these days as Panda's Palace no longer exists.

Why Skeggy? Was it the only one place was up for it or do some of the developers have fond childhood memories of their visits there?

@IonMagi I have added games via the app and I have my fingers crossed that my net is up later today so I can check on the PS5.

@IonMagi I have been upgraded on the PS App but on my subscriptions it says PS Now is still active and will pay £49.99 in Oct 23 and then PS Plus Premium will take £49.99 in Feb 24 so it isn't working quite right as of yet it seems. No internet at my house so can't actually check what my console says.

Was looking forward to trying this out but the intenet is down in my town and could be for 2-4 days apparently.

@jgrangervikings1 If you only play single player games and always have a backlog then waiting for inclusion in PS Plus or sales makes more sense from a value for money point of view. I can't remember the last time I paid full price for a game on PS to be honest.
Everyone is different and spends their money in different ways. I'll be enjoying some of the PS5 exclusive titles on the new PS Plus.

Reminded me of the original Xbox 360 and Xbox One with their power bricks only much much shinier.

I won't believe it is officially ridiculous until I see some documentation. There is certainly plenty to stick your teeth into though.

I bet Microsoft told them the only way they could do these events was if they did them at the same time!

@PoopScoop You'd be surprised what trash people spend their own money on. One person's trash is another's treasure after all. People with Game Pass can really prove it is trash by not playing it even though they don't have to pay extra for it.

Now this is the sort of timed exclusive I can get behind. Those 4 people who were hoodwinked into getting an Xbox within 48 hours and jumping the PlayStation ship only have themelves to blame. If you wanted on PS but pre-ordered on Xbox there is still time to cancel that pre order.

Sony spent the Persona remaster money on the Last of Us Part 1 remake because that would make them more money. Microsoft are throwing money around to please the minority hoping that leads to the more peopel picking up an Xbox and a Game Pass subscription.

Microtransactions are the devil but sell me a game for the third time in a row please.
If this sells well expect PS5 versions of all the PS4s greatest hits at a premium starting with TLOU Part 2.

@Nintendo4Sonic I have decided I am only buying the game on even numbered PS consoles. I'll pay the extra £80 premium at that point.

@Deljo It's seen as best practice to not steal from colleagues and seen as messed up if you are stealing their bodily fluids (from source or storage).

I bought God of War for sub £10 ages ago. I got stuck on God Of War Ascension before Xmas but one day I will play it. Be interested in what percentage of PS Plus owners play though it. I would guess not many as those that want it have already stumped up the small change for it if they didn't already pay full price.

I hope to be surprised.

The problem is if a few of these 12 are duds it may tarnish the brand if they push them hard to the general public which they will have to do to make as much money as possible from them.

12 concurrently. Is there are market for that many along with the usual suspects along with others no doubt dipping their toes in the water by then too?

@torne I want them to announce 3 games for every one of their PS Studios next Thursday and then have them all release the next day and then release no more games until the PS6.
I want instant gratification and I want it yesterday.

@get2sammyb Thanks. I thought they probably would have closed that loophole for new subs but with all the news about these tiers I am losing track of what can and can't be done currently. Time will tell if they change the policy over the coming weeks to limit the bad press when the service expands.

If you are just subscribed to PS Plus only for the next 5 years can't you just buy a month of PS Now less than a month before the date the tiers go live in your country for the upgrade? Or was that offer only valid for people at the point they notified everyone and that loophole has been closed completely?

I'm happy with the PS4/5 selection. Some big hitters I was waiting on a deep discount on so will save a few pennies there. I'll reserve judgement on the Classics until the full premium tier list is released rather than throw my toys out of the pram yet.

@Neverwild I meant trials but I will continue to incorrectly call them demos as that is easier for my miniscule brain to comprehend. Don’t need too may words up there or it might squeeze out more useful words like banana, hedgehog or corporeal.

@Robinsad They are already in the bad books with the demo business so putting trophies on them as well could be seen as Sony sticking the boot in with developers. They can't win either way. Sony are damned if they do and damned if they don't these days.

If they mentioned that not all titles will have trophies they would have had complaints that it isn't all games. Better not to mention it and surprise us.

How many of the people who bought a Series S/X wanted a PS5 instead though but have given up so jumped ship?

That headline made me think the 80s chocolate bar was coming back. I want a Trio and I want one now!

If Sony released the entire pre PS4 back catalogue on day one people would be complaining that it had nowhere to go. They've got to drip feed the content over time to keep people subscribed. I think this announcement is strong even though I own most of the games that interest me. Just got to wait and see where they go from here.

@z0d15g0d Fair enough, although that wouldn't draw you in as much as the initial run I assume.

Sony are developing 10 live service games so are watering down their own market or are they anticipating only a few will stick so are budgeting for that?
I can't see why people play the same games for so long or are the people who played these games at the start not the same one that are playing them now.

12 days out from the Asian PS Plus Premium release and still no promotion for it. I have no idea what Sony are doing any more and expect very little from their marketing department. They don't need much marketing for games though as they don't tend to put out stinkers but a little warning would be nice.

There's going to be some confused parents and grandparents this year when they can't find little Timmy's latest FIFA game.

@AdamNovice It's only 16 days until the Asia start date. Just over two weeks and no announcements about any games apart from the initial handful. Wondering whether the stacking option being stopped has led to the lack of promotion or maybe the marketing department are on holiday.

Maybe the new Doctor Strange movie shows us an alternate universe where it didn't release on Game Pass and settles the argument as to whether it made more or less money by being on Game Pass.
I played on Game Pass and though it wasn't bad but wouldn't have bought the game.

@themanmilkman You could lose your job and have to sell your console. Jump ship to Xbox (controversial I know). Lose everything in a housefire. Become homeless. Or more optimistically meet the partner of your dreams and want to spend every waking hour with them.
There are a number of reasons why it doesn't make sense to me. Also the cost hasn't really gone up so stacking for years doesn't make sense in that the cost isn't increasing with inflation so the price you paid for 2022 in 2018 is actually more than you would have paid in 2022, in UK anyway. Now this loophole would have been a decent reason to stack a few years due to the savings but it was closed so back to my original point.
If someone wants to do that then that is fine but it doesn't really make much sense.

I never stack more than a year or two as you never know when you could die. Car crash tomorrow, cancer in six months, random person stabbing you because they were bored. Best to spend money on short term enjoyment. You can't take 6 years of PS Plus subs with you!
They should have definitely communicated this better and even included a statement in the promotional email they sent out. That would have stopped any of this nonsense and further reduced the dwindling goodwill people have towards Sony these days.

@misak192 Some people don't like old movies, TV shows, music, books and some do. Doesn't mean that we should stop access to them for the people that do. I personally don't tend to revisit things but wouldn't mind dabbling in some games I missed at the time.

I like the idea that it is just different hat permutations for characters.

As with a few comments here, expect nothing extra so anything else is a bonus.

The targeting part is a little too vague for my liking. I'm calling Europe having to wait until July. Might as well lower expectations now so anything sooner is a bonus.

They should have ads in free games and ditch the microtransactions and save parents money the world over.

On TV the other day someone said that looking at real fish while swimming underwater was like HD. With a 4K TV and a PS5 you have better than real life visuals.

For me all it was missing was a couple of examples for the PS1, PS2, PSP games. It gave examples on the top end systems but none for the old school fans. Other than that it was fine from my point of view. They clearly aren't trying to upsell the average user to the higher tier hence why no flashy business.
