@Kriandis Destiny made 500 million on release day, was the most pre ordered game of all time at the moment. Doesn't really matter if you think it's just halo 2.0, Bungie can make a lot of money.

It's funny how people like to talk sh*t but they don't seem to remember more than 1 billion of the acquisition was for Bungie to divide among the employees as an incentive.and that of course includes the guy who made this tweet.

It's also funny that this "news" implies "no one has been safe" all year when teams that have met expectations weren't touched all year. Big companies will never be the good guys but let's not pretend that Destiny 2 hasn't been a bad product since its release, with bad decisions over bad decisions way before the acquisition. The fanbase is feed up at this point and when that happens the money sooner or later stops coming.

@MasterPlayerOne I'm happy because they finally kicked Ryan but it wasn't wasted fuel. The acquisition was delayed for almost two years enough time for the ps5 to sell like the xbox didn't. Now it's too late for xbox to actually sell this gen and Sony has until 2027 (now without Ryan lol) to do something so the ps6 sells.

Just a reminder that Best Buy stopped existing in many countries years ago so ... of course digital is and will be bigger with time but it's the companies who are struggling with money the ones that are making these moves in an economy where nothing is cheap anymore after the pandemic.

I know people obsessed with this game that haven't use a cent in it, that's the "beauty" of gaas games, they have to be fun to their target so they come back for more.

TLOU wasn't that and now it's in purgatory and others will follow until Sony understands Bungie can carry those "plans" alone no need to make 20 of them.

The only asymmetrical sticks these hands are going to touch are the Joycon Pro sticks and I don't love it lol.

Great news, they aren't going to stop their plans until they see their own failure not the failure of others like the SEGA idiots.
The faster these games fail the faster they will stop doing them and let's be honest Bungie's Marathon has a big chance of being a hit because those dudes know what they are doing even with something so mid like Destiny 2 they made so much money so the failure has to come BEFORE that release. Wasting so much time and money in this is a good start.

It's weir so many people who complained so much about the gaas plans either talk about this as the final day or the "i was right" day because this is good news for ALL consumers in the long run.

And actually failure is always good for consumers. I know I don't feel betrayed lol and I wouldn't mind to play helldivers 2 on ps plus extra lol

I never bought this game mainly because of lack of time but thank you StudioMDHR to make it easier to just pirate the sh*t out of it if there is a moment where i want to play their game.

It's for the best. The thing is if it was Sony call no way in hell they give star wars to embracer instead of using their own studios. This was a Disney call because the game wasn't more than a time exclusive, never was intended to. Sony was paying for a part of it, it didn't work, it sucks let's just stop wasting money and move on.

Shame that they were doing just fine as an indie dev before being acquired by epic, now the game sucks and the devs got fired.

@nomither6 I don't know if the japanese government would do anything to stop MS but you talk like those closed PS studios were making millions in revenue for Japan and that wasn't the case at all because if so they would still be working lol. Sony as a whole still makes a lot of money for the country, if isn't taxes (of their various japanese companies), it's products or investments. The most watched movie in the history of Japan was partially financed by Sony. MS buying a big japanese company is taking almost all the money that company makes from the country, plain and simple.

What developers want is to save their current games but once Unity puts something like revenue share from the moment of implementation instead of per install all the devs will move to something else.

Godot needed a push to put it over unity and this is that push. (because cancelled highly demanded projects and having outdated tools wasn't enough) So thanks Unity for the auto destruction.
