In the long term Playstation games on PC will kill Playstation. Every release devalues their brand and customer loyalty. Yes PS player's have to wait longer but they get the better version and play online without a fee, and they have access to PC and Xbox exclusives. My money is on Xbox launching a gamer focused version of Windows 11 on their next Xbox, which can access games pass, steam etc. so plays everything (except Nintendo exclusives.).
@gymratAmarillo thank you for your respectful reply, I really appreciate it. I would see a Windows 11 Xbox branded PC more as away to onboard consoles owners into the PC ecosystem, rather than Microsoft's goal being to get PC regularly owners to switch to a Xbox PC. If you run a regular PC with Windows they've already made a sale from you. Your right the launcher is more of an issue. But with all those lovely IPs I could see that being a long term goal. Cheers and have a good one.
I think Microsoft are focusing more on pc and will stop make "consoles" and instead shift to making XBOX branded PCs running a gaming version of Windows 11 (including a steam desk rival). They'll make their games exclusive to there own pc games launcher. This will allow them to focus on dominating the regular PC market and capture the new' "branded" pc market ( Which steam has tried with the Steam Deck and Steam machines). Plus they can still make money in the console space by flogging games to both Sony and Nintendo customers. And if they go down the full PC route gamers on that platforms will still have access to Sony games (not via the Xbox launcher) as most Sony exclusive are on PC now (after a delay). That's my random predictions. Cheers and good day.

That looks like some kind of cheap- arse Madcats / Game own brand PS2 give it to your little brother to play with spare controller tomfoolery, right there.
Sorry nothing to do with this story but have I missed Push Square coverage of :
"Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal temporarily blocked by US judge Federal Trade Commission had asked the court to stop $75bn acquisition from closing while it pursues a challenge"
Surprisingly no coverage on game sites but coverage on regular news media.
I really do think in the long term this will come back to bite them. I've purchased everything PlayStation console including the original on launch day and would describe myself as a PS fan boy. And I'm thinking why bother with PS6, I'll pick-up a Steam deck 2 instead. Yes Sony will.still get the money for all the PS exclusives I phase from Steam, but they'll lose all the money from PSN subscriptions and transactions. If I'm thinking of jumping ship I'm sure lots of other will too!
Long term releasing on PC will hurt Sony. As a life long Sony fanboy, I'm seriously considering not getting their next console and getting a stream deck 2, because why limit myself to Sony, when I can get all there games on PC.
Wow I had a Jaguar, back in the day, truly a terrible console. But Doom, AVP, Iron Soldier and Tempest 2000 were all pretty good for the time. However everything else was total trash! My next console was a launch day PlayStation and the rest is history.
This will 100% not be a direct competitor to game pass. People need to get that idea right out of their head, or they're going to be very disappointed.
No sign of Odin makes me think he'll turn up right at the end, and secretly be zeus. Also in most Norse tellings Thor has either has a red/ginger beard with black hair or red hair and beard. Plus that's a power belly like in words strongest Man. Whilst both Eddie hall and hafthor have slimmed down for their fight neither could when the title of world's strongest Man without a power belly!
I remember all 3 games, but I don't recall them ever being in the Arcade? Rock n Roll Racing was a blast back on the SNES but have I have no desire to revist it or anything in this collection.
Also can you call something a collection if you only have 3? Do I have a shoe collection if I only own 3 pairs of shoes?
@Juvenlast I couldn't agree more with you. I'm sure this is how it used to work. I remember preorder both the PS2 and PS3 and was told I'd be informed which shipment batch I'd be in by the retailer. For the PS2 I was told I'd miss Christmas but would be in the first batch aftwards at Game, with PS3 I was told I'd have a launch console by eplay (remember them?). Even with PS4 when I preorder with Amazon, I was told we can't guarantee launch day at ordering (but did get a day one unit). I don't understand new system at all. Let us order in a que, rather than a made scramble everytime, which will always favour the scalpers.
As many have said it needs to be at £100/$100 difference to make the trade off of no diskdrive seem worth it. Plus as cheap ultra bluray players sells for around £100 the price difference will make sence to the average consumer. I still think digital edition £349/$399 disk drive edition £449/$499. The pro will be discontinued and the regular PS4 will be kept around as a legacy machine for a few years.
While it didn't need them the original PS2 had both a vertical and separate horizontal stand available. For reasons I can't remember I bought the horizontal stand, back in the day and its still attached to my PS2.
Yeah I like it. Thumb sticks in the right place. Only gripe is sticks should be convexed like on PS1/PS2/PS3 not a fan of the concaved sticks on PS4. But hey KontrolFreeks to the rescue
Crash Team Racing NF has been such a surprise for me. And has been my number one kart/racing game this gen. Sorry Plumber boy. Wouldn't be brave enough to say that on Nintendo Life. I hope after this last Grand Prix, they open the pitstop up so u can pick the items u want to purchase rather than waiting for them to return. Also it might add a bit of variety to games with everyone pick their favourite stuff rather than the sea of characters and Karts that spit out the most exp each month.
I think this just shows how current and future facing the PlayStation community is, not looking back on glorys past. We want new and we want it now! I've been with PlayStation since launch day in the UK back in 1995, and while I have great memories of each system, each one has improved on the last, moving gaming forward.
The other nail in the coffin was the stupidly expensive memory cards for the system. I remember wanting one until I saw they hadn't added an extra thumb stick or touch screen. So stuck with my launch PSP from Japan.
Best NFS is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 end of! Hammering a vauxhall vx220 in the game was a total blast and the police chases were insane with helicopters, stingers and missiles!
Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world, Please don't be open world....
Remember all the magazines (which still existed at the time) and Game journalists, laughing at the touted 10 years life cycle of the PS3. 2006/7 to 2019 and still just about hanging in there.
Same here, I hate special edition cases that don't fit in with the rest my collection. Looking at u Rise of the Tomb Raider, sticking out like a sore thumb, so it's all I can see!
Dam it picked up onrush in the last but one sale. Hopefully it'll get a new patch as won't run correctly on my machine. Graphic and textures all over the shop. Had the same issue with Uncharted 4 but was patched out later down the line. This seems to be a small issue with some launch machines. Enjoy ur games! Hugs
