Really? Just... really, dude? They were great in the 90's and the 2000's, but after the original Last of Us in 2013 they fell into the abyss - hard. And they haven't climbed back out yet.

Dragonball Xenoverse 2 for me too.. Haven't played it in years - so I was shocked to see just how much they added lmao. For veterans: Which DLC is an absolute must have to buy? There were so many options but they're all quite expensive if all bought together x_x I kinda want one or two and that's it haha.

Also some more Mass Effect 2 on the side!

Yeah, definitely. You'll miss a few character interactions - as well as the conclusion to the Crossbell - but you can just look that up on Youtube.

Yeah, that's like skipping Mass Effect 2 and going straight to 3. You can't do that with Cold Steel - There's absolutely essential information that you just don't get if you skip it. It features some of the best bosses, dialogues and OST's of the entire franchise; especially if you played the previous games. But hey, far from me trying to pursuade you to play it, if it's burning you out...

The game between 4 and Daybreak - Trails into Reverie - CAN be skipped, as it's more of a ''what if'' type of game.. There is some dialogue that links to Daybreak but it's not essential - unlike the dialogues and finality of CS4

@Angelus3K Just a fair warning: There's a nasty glitch on PS5 when you enter a certain cutscene later on in the game.. It causes the game to crash, no matter what, but it can be bypassed by skipping the entire scene. I would say where, but it's a spoiler.. Just know that it's right before you go back to your ''home'', so to say!

Damn shame, but not surprising, given Sony's current over-confident, cocky and rude attitude. I hope these people find a new job soon

@Keyblade-Dan See, you say that... But would Sony REALLY pull all these franchises out of their coffins again? I would love to see Kat from gravity Rush returning, or Nathan Drake, but the sad fact is that Sony doesn't care about these franchises anymore. At all.

Though I suppose Nintendo and Rare are just as guilty with including Banjo in Smash but then not following it up with a sequel game..

That's a hopeless dream though, lmao. I doubt you can fill a game with JUST Aloy, Kratos, Ellie and Ratchet. Sony doesn't have any other iconic franchises (anymore).

@Frmknst People just blindly buying a product and celebrating it, even though they know nothing about it?? Assassins Creed is one of the biggest exemples of this - as well as Call of Duty and Pokémon too. Meanwhile, smaller titles literally have no chance because they're not ''mainstream'' or ''well known''. Damn shame.

@Nepp67 Yeah, people are incredibly dumb these days. The ONLY reason they actually pre-ordered, i'm certain, is because of the name. AC has become too big to fail (unfortunately).

Really wish Ubisoft would give some of their older titles another chance, but alas. Why would they if the sheeple just mass buy their most popular product, no matter what?

I mean.. should they? Most games are still available on PS4, or on PC.. and quite frankly, the PS5 itself isn't worth it. Sure, R&C Rift Apart was fantastic, but I struggle to find a game on the system that I enjoyed just as much.

Meanwhile, on the PS4, I enjoyed: Uncharted 4, Infamous Second Son, Knack (Yes, really!), Gravity Rush, Mass Effect Legendary Edition and many other titles. There's simply no veriety anymore on the PS5, it's all generic open world (jrpg) or cinematic superhero games. Damn shame what happend to Sony. Oh well, maybe they'll recover... someday. Until then i'm perfectly contend to keep replaying my PS4 games

Too much Horizon is definitely true. Then again, I suppose Sony has a one-track mind these days with only a few games getting attention (Horizon, Superhero games and of course God of War).

They now have Stellar Blade too, but I struggle to think of another Sony franchise that actually got a new game these last two years or so

It's quite unfortunate that Sony seems to be doing so well. Sorry, but I really don't think that modern Sony deserves these ''successes''. However, Microsoft has long since lost their way as well.. Shame to see two big companies go down this road. Oh well.

@__jamiie Yeah, I'm getting that vibe as well. The amount of developers being greedy and selfish - along with all the bugs and glitches that plague games lately - will most likely result in another crash.

Nintendo will most likely be the only one left standing, with MAYBE Sony as well.. Microsoft's Xbox will definitely go under, however

I want to believe them, I really really do, but the last seven years have been so, so disappointing (R&C Rift Apart being the only great exclusive I've played on the system.. I don't care for any generic super hero or walking simulator games personally).

Haha oh wow, it's almost hilarious how incompetent most AAA studios have become. Capcom, Ubisoft, SEGA, Sony's studios, EA.. They were already mediocre, bordering on bad, but now they've all completely lost their way.

Glad I made the decision to only back Nintendo's first party titles and smaller Indie titles from this year onwards.

I lost faith in this company a long time ago and I'm not supporting them anymore; however, I still really enjoy playing older titles though - Gravity Rush and Tearaway are still alot of fun.

Yeah, there's something SERIOUSLY wrong with publishers these days. Hogwarts Legacy is suffering from the same idiocy.. It was hugely succesfull BECAUSE it's a singleplayer game - what does Warner Bros Games want to do? Turn a potential sequel into a live service game..

Please don't. There's (far) too many of these in today's world already. Level-5 games are so good BECAUSE they aren't violent or erotic. If they actually go that way, there truly is no more hope for modern games/gaming.

I would happily play Forza or Banjo Kazooie on Playstation! If there's ONE thing Playstation does do better than Microsoft, it's accounts. On the PS5, you can create a new profile for new trophies no problem (Or even a guest account for one session only).. No such thing on the Xbox. You have to jump through ALOT of loops to even make a new account :/

I'm guessing Forza coming to Playstation is never going to happen, but still. Dreaming is free haha.

@UltimateOtaku91 Yeah, this seems to be a trend nowadays unfortunately. Sony used to have smaller games in between their ''heavy hitters'' as well, but that's also a thing of the past unfortunately. Oh well, I'm still enjoying Sony's past titles while avoiding these heavy hitters all the same anyway. I don't need fancy graphics or 100+ hours gameplay to enjoy a game.

I reaaally want to watch this. But I also don't want to add ANOTHER subscription list to my all ready way too long list (Disney, Netflix, Gamepass, NSO etc)

Nope - it may sound silly, but with the current climate here in Europe it just feels wrong to play this one.. Especially since it MIGHT actually happen in real life if things go extremely sour.

I'm happy just playing Ratchet and Clank for now.

Sounds pretty cool. Really not my cup of tea, though, so i'm giving this one a hard pass.

Looks really nice, but I highly doubt I'd be able to get into this one. As I grow older I notice that I don't have to patience anymore to learn new stuff or mechanics in games. I do hope this game sells well on PS5 though.

And dare I say that Dave himself is quite a looker too. It's refreshing to see a plus sized hero for once instead of a muscled dude/gal

I'm losing faith in Sony - alot - as the franchises that I grew up with are left to rot while newer ones keep popping up. I can't keep up and that's probably why I think it was a weak year so far when that's not the case at all. Playstation is just not my preferred gaming platform anymore, that's all

I only played Persona 3 Reload out of everything on that list and I didn't like it at all.. Was planning on buying FF7Rebirth after playing through Remake, but alas. That's not going to happen anymore.

Weak start of 2024 for me - for the Playstation anyway.

This developer proves again and again that they actually have some decency and respect for the player (unlike most developers these days). I will most definitely be playing this... at some point. My backlog is just too big haha. But Shift Up is definitely a developer I'll be keeping my eye on from now on (in a good way of course!)
