That's a fair point.

Another thing to consider though is that this game isn't releasing today it will likely be towards the end of next year.

It's not out of the question that PS5 will have another 25 - 30 million sales under its belt by that point.

I don't mean to sound argumentative and obviously my Nintendo Wii user base reference was a joke but as a day one PS5 owner it really really annoyed me when they kept releasing games as cross gen.

I could understand it maybe for the first 6 months or so but we're 3 years down the line now and and it has to stop.

I didn't spend all that money on a PS5 to play games that I could have played on my PS4

Are you seriously trying to tell me that all 77 million that haven't upgraded still play on them?

Obviously I'm not naieve enough to think that nobody still uses them (clearly they do) but I'd be will to bet that a vast majority of them are either used as glorified DVD players at best or simply gathering dust somewhere

I personally don't buy into that too big of a user base to ignore argument anymore. It was valid when the PS5 first launched but by now most PS4 owners will have either upgraded or simply don't use their PS4 anymore.

There are over 101 million Nintendo Wii's out there in the wild...... why not release GTA 6 on that???

If they do release it on both I'm sorry but I simply won't buy it just on principal.

I know Push Square is a playstation focused website but I find it rather rude and insulting that the whole article fails to give any credit or even acknowledge the Fact that Super Mario Wonder has secured a 2nd successive week at number 1

There's usually at least one of the 3 games I might have a passing interest in but this month.....

Obviously everyones taste in games will be different so it always subjective but since the price rise it seems the games have been getting worse month by month (in my opinion at least)

My PS plus is due for renewal at the end of the month and if it wasn't for the fact I'd lose access to all my other games that I've claimed I'd seriously consider letting it lapse.

Can't wait to delete my PS4 version, then download this one and not even notice the difference 😂

You're probably right, the last time I looked into it properly it was probably about 20 - 25% of the 360 discs will work on a Series X (I don't know about the original Xbox)

Regardless of the exact numbers though it's still an awful lot better than what Playstation currently offers us in terms of backwards compatibility would you not agree??

My post was more of a complaint about getting access to playing older PS1 and PS2 games without original hardware.

I appreciate what you're saying though, in 25 years or so the games of today will be in the same situation.

Especially as most modern games require some sort of update or patch to work properly.

Once the servers are shut down alot of the games we play today will become useless unless they're already installed and upto date.

Ironically Sony are probably the worst for it.

Xbox is pretty much fully backwards compatible with all previous Xbox games (I know there are some exceptions)

Nintendo offers most of their big hitting classics through the NSO online expansion

Sony in comparison give us virtually nothing, PS plus premium has been going for more or less 2 years now and we're still waiting for most of the "Classic" games to make an appearance

Would it really have been that difficult to make PS1 & PS2 discs work on the PS5 from the start?

It hasn't technically effected me yet as my current Premium membership runs till the end of November.

I'll see what the Black Friday sales have to offer me but if there aren't any good deals I'll probably drop down from Premium to extra

The is the first Christmas season that's it's been readily available to go into any store and buy one off the shelf so I expect sales to be very high indeed

To be truthful, thinking about it I can't remember the last Codemasters one I bought.... Quite often they are usually on PS Plus or Gamepass so I've always played them as part of that.

I did pick up WRC 9 on sale for just under £5 about 6 months ago

I'm not sure what the prices are like where you are in Canada but here in the UK this game is strangely priced at either £45 or just under if you shop around.

Most new PS5 games here launch at the £70 mark so this kinda feels as good as being on sale right from the start.

Obviously I'm not complaining that it's only £45 but the sceptic in me does wonder why it's so cheap 😂

Probably because most diehard playstation fans already have a PS5 and this slim version whilst being very nice isn't really an upgrade.

As I answered in the Poll unless my Day 1 PS5 dies on me there's really no reason so buy this new version

Id certainly get one if I didn't already own a PS5 , I actually think I prefer the redesignd model.

Obviously it doesn't actually do anything different though , so it would be a pretty pointless upgrade at this point in time

I'm really loving this game.

I've heard plenty say that it's a Forza horizon rip off and to be fair yes it is.... but I mean that in the most complimentary way possible

Is it as good as Forza horizon? Probably not quite ....but it's the closest thing you'll get to it on PlayStation

Looks incredible but as always it's how it actually plays that counts.

I bought it and really like it... My only gripe is that the commentary some how seems worse that last year.

I started a new career mode, I won my first game of the season 13-0 (I obviously needed to up the difficulty level)

In the 2nd game of the season the commentary said I'd be pleased with my start to the Season but would be really disappointed with the way I defended in the previous game!!!!

I know it's not real and they can't have commentary that covers every eventually but seriously.....come on they can do better than that surely

I was sort of on the fence with this product.

If you don't want one then it's quite simple just don't buy one and let those that do want one enjoy it for what it is.

If those Xbox leaks on how much they expect to pay to publishers to put the games on Game pass are true then I think you could be absolutely spot on

There's normally at least one of the games that pricks my interest even if it's something I wouldn't usually play.

Unfortunately this isn't one of those months, not suggesting they are bad games just nothing of interest to me personally

What I'd like to know is if you can play something on this (in the house obviously) and someone else can play another game on the TV.

I'm guessing probably not but I've not seen or read anything that confirms either way.

Reason I ask is my wife has recently discovered playing Uno on my PS5 and she's hogging it. Every time I fancy a game of something she's already on it.

This would potentially be a great device if it allows us both to play our games at the same time in different rooms (albeit an expensive solution)

Download it last night funnily enough but didn't have time to actually play it, unfortunately it has to compete for my time with EA FC24 this weekend.

I play it at some point over the weekend but it's not 1st in my queue

I love Rally games and I was hoping this would be more following in the footsteps of Dirt 4 than a Dirt Rally 2.0

I definitely prefer the more arcade vibe than an unforgiving SIM racer

Having read this preview it sounds like it's more of the latter unfortunately (for me) so I'll probably pass on this one. Or at least wait till it inevitably come on to PS Plus one day

Price increase or no price increase I'd like to think most sensible people would always opt for option B anyway.

I got a years worth of premium for £64 last November when it was on sale and through an Amazon voucher loophole.

There's very rarely a better time of year to buy
