What I really want to know more than anything (and I appreciate you probably can't say just yet) is whether it will make me feel ill like the PSVR 1 headset did.

I've heard things said about the fact this one has much better resolutions it will improve motion sickness but I really want this confirming before I even think about buying one

I'm a hugh Mario Kart fan but I just couldn't bring myself to try / buy the MK version of this.

It looks pretty cool in principle but unless you happen to be blessed with lots of space in your living area (I'm not) then it'll probably be a one hit wonder.

Cool idea but once the initial novelty wears off it's a pretty expensive thing to have sat gathering dust

I know what you mean, they peaked too early with Odyssey.

There is a Nintendo direct tomorrow night. I won't hold my breath but you never know there could be some sort of announcement of a new Mario game to compliment the upcoming Mario movie.

As I said I wouldn't hold my breath but you just never know

I'm partly joking of course but that's my main reason for buying a Nintendo console. Anything multiplatform I'll always get the PS5 version because I'm a sucker for pretty graphics

It depends on each person's point of view.

Speaking on a personal level my Switch was bought as a home console and I'd say it's spent a good 99% of its life docked and used as a home console.

Personally I've always thought of it as a Home console that has the added bonus of being used as a handheld should I feel the need.

As an example I'll always take it on holiday with me for entertainment on the plane but when at home I'll hardly ever use it as a handheld

On the flip side though I'm assuming we'll now have to wait a week and a half for the next one instead of just a week

Its a fairly decent month on paper just not much of interest to me personally.

Sounds silly but I almost wish I didn't have one just so I could go out and buy one.

There's something magical about picking up a new games console and it always gives me warm nostalgic feelings of being a child again

An absolute beast of a console, I've been playing quite alot of PS4 games on mine lately (specifically Dirt 4). The other night I fired up Dirt 5 as I hadn't played it in over a year.

The difference in quality graphics wise is absolutely night and day. It really pops in comparison

Am I Surprised? Yes

Am am bothered? Absolutely not

I'm my defense I very rarely play online (with the exception of Mario kart on my Switch) so I'm not best qualified to comment on the quality.

I do subscribe to Premium but obviously it's for the games rather than online play

Personally I think the ability to play online should be free. I do however think the amount of "free" games we get does more than justify the price of PS Plus

I had exactly the same issue when upgrading from 3 to 4

My original account was tied to an email address that I no longer have access too and I'd forgotten my PS password

Sounds amazing, I did try Gran Turismo sport in VR and obviously it wasn't the full game but what I did play made me feel quite ill and I had to go for a lie down afterwards for a while.

I'm hoping that may have improved with this latest headset

Either that or it's existing customers who've Created new accounts for whatever reason

I agree it doesn't effect manufacturing cost, not Sony's fault at all, my point was that it does effect the overall package cost which will make it too expensive for most people to consider purchasing one.

It's a catch 22 situation, obviously they have to cover their costs but at the same time they would like it to sell well.

Another way to look at it is that if they sold it for half the asking price they'd probably sell twice as many (if not more) and then potentially make even more money in software sales.

It's all if' and but's of course. It all depends on what Sony's overall sales projections are.

I think alot of people look at the number of PS4's sold and then next to that the number of PSVR 1 and assume it flopped which isn't necessarily the case.

Hopefully this is the start of purpose built next generation games instead of developer's trying to shoehorn a PS4 version on to make a quick buck

Probably showing my age but Royal Rumble on the SNES was the Peake of wrestling games for me.

I find them far too complicated nowadays. Back then all you had to do was get your special bar full and press R to do your finisher move..... Nice and simple

I know what you mean, in the past I've always been fairly vocal about buying physical only but I have to admit I am slowly coming around the the idea of buying digital games.

To be honest though unless it's something new that I really want I tend to hold off buying it now as more often than not it gets given away on PS plus if I'm prepared to wait a while.

The subscription service is a slightly different matter. I guess you have to adjust your brain to think of it more as a rental service. Similar to netflix in the sense you can stream a film or TV series but you never actually own it and it can obviously be removed at any time (sometimes without much warning)

They were technically free (assuming you subscribe to ps plus as most people do) so hardly a scam. Also as long as you've "claimed them" you can keep them

At the time it did feel like a nice incentive but if I'm honest I've only bothered to play a few of them.

I guess I may as well at least claim them all while I still can

Agreed, I do find it very frustrating that games are being potentially held back by trying to shoehorn in a last gen version.

It was just about acceptable when the ps5 first launched but now over 2 years down the road the PS4 should be left where it belongs (in the past)

Looks pretty good from the very small trailer.

If it's even 1/2 as good as Forza horizon then count me in.

I own both a PS5 and a Series X but I do spend the majority of my time on PlayStation. The one thing the PS does seem to lack is a good open world racer.

Again difficult to tell from a short trailer but hopefully this can potentially fill that void

I think a good solution would have been to allow the retailer's to sell it and market it for them but to only allow in store over the counter pre orders.

I appreciate that wouldn't work for the likes of Amazon but it would certainly help stopping the Scalper situation if you had to physically go to a store to order it. Nothing to stop people pre ordering from more than one store but it certainly makes things harder than doing it online from various different websites

I didn't realise Sony were only selling it directly to begin with. It does seem a rather odd move.

Surely allowing the big retailers to sell it as well would automatically drum up more publicly.

Most of us regular visitors to this website will know doubt know all about the PSVR 2 but there will be plenty of people out there that probably don't even know that it exists

Would you care to explain which bit of it makes no sense as it makes perfect sense to me.

It's over priced in the sense that the vast majority of people simply won't be able to afford one or at least can't justify spending that amount of money on an accessory

I personally think it is over priced. They can dress it up however they like with technical specs etc but at the end of the day it's an accessory for the PS5.

Now when that accessory Costs more than an actual PS5 it's clearly going to price the majority of people out of the game unfortunately.

Im fortunate enough that I could technically afford one if I really wanted one but I just think the overall price (when you factor in the ps5 cost as well) is too high for your average Joe in the street

I hadn't planned on getting one because I think it's far too expensive but in fairness even if I did want one I wouldn't know where to get it (except direct from Sony)

Smyth's or Amazon would be my usual go to place for a pre order and unless I'm missing something neither of them seem to be selling it

I was lucky enough to be a day one adopter but I do still regularly check stock levels out of curiosity.

I've noticed that since mid to late December Smyth's do seem to regularly have it available in stock.

That doesn't stop CEX trying to sell pre-owned models for almost £100 more than the RRP

I could kind of get it when they were impossible to find but if anything CEX should be selling them for less than RRP by now

One of the few games that makes having Premium worthwhile for me personally

If I didn't already have one is something I might think about but as an existing disc drive version owner it kind of seems like an unnecessary step backwards

These simulator games are getting a bit much now

I know plenty of people are unhappy with Premium but I have to say £59.99 is an absolute steal.

Especially when you weigh up that the normal price of the basic essential package is £50

If I hadn't already snapped it up for a similar price on black Friday (£64) I'd be in there like a rat up a drain pipe

Have to agree, Games with gold has become a complete joke.

It's become so bad that I swear they purposely sit there at Microsoft HQ thinking " what games can we possibly find that are even worse than last month's offerings"

2nd month in a row there's been nothing of interest for me personally. Thankfully Extra and Premium have offered me things of interest so not all bad.

Pretty much came here to say the same thing. Ridge Racer is just as good as I remember it.

It's starting to show it's age graphically but it plays just as well as ever.

I've never known a game as good for effortlessly drifting around corners
