Re: Hardware Review: Thrustmaster T128 - The Perfect Wheel for Beginners

I've always fancied one of these (or something similar) but unfortunately I just don't really have the set up at home to fix it onto.

Current I either sit on the couch or I have an X rocker chair that sits on the floor. Our TV is on a unit that's fairly low down so that works well but obviously not suitable to have a steering wheel on your knees

I don't play online either (or very rarely anyway) but I still pay for PS plus as it gives you 40 "free" games per year.

I usually get it from shop too on or around Black Friday. Don't think I've ever paid more than £30 for it. £30 for 40ish games I think is great value personally.

@Luigia

Of that 130m install base how many of those consoles are actually still in use?

I for one bought 3 PS4's..... My first one broke so that's a no, 2nd one I gave to my daughter (currently gathering dust in her bedroom) when I upgraded to a PS4 Pro and I sold the PS4 Pro when I got my PS5

You could also make the same install base argument when any new console launches but this cross gen thing was never a thing before when upgrading from NES to SNES or PS1 to PS2 or even PS3

I just find it really frustrating when you spend all that money on the latest console only to find you really didn't need to bother as they still release virtually all the same games on the old one.

As I said in my original post, I could accept it for the first few months when PS5 launched but now almost 2 years down the road it's time to move on

I know this was a remaster of an older PS4 game (or remake whatever the difference is) but speaking in more general terms, if developers would put an end to all these cross gen releases then this wouldn't be an issue at all.

I could understand it when the PS5 first launched but now almost 2 years later it's time to start focusing on next Gen and let the PS4 die gracefully

Re: As Energy Prices Soar, Consider an Alternative to Video Streaming on PS5, PS4

I've had my PS5 since day 1 and I've never once used it for streaming anything.

My TV has 4 dedicated buttons on its remote control, Netflix, Disney plus, Amazon prime and YouTube.

Not taking into account this energy saving info it just so much easier to press one of those 4 buttons rather than faffing about on the PS5.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my ps5 but I bought it for one thing and one thing only....... To play Video games

Re: FIFA 23 Racks Up More Than 10 Million Players in First Week, Biggest in Franchise History

I'm one of them yes.

One of the things I do like is the new power shot, (for anyone who hasn't played you hold L1 & R1 at the same time then shoot) at first when I heard about it I was worried it may be a bit of an arcade gimmick and take away some of the realism of the game.

However I really like it, it's surprisingly tricky to pull off as you need a fair bit of time and space because the defenders pounce on you pretty quickly, but when you get it right and the ball hits the back of the net like a rocket missile it feels extremely satisfying

I do agree that more competition is needed. Traditionally I would alternate between PES and FIFA each year so it actually felt like I was playing a new game rather than just a refreshed game with squad and kit updates.

I guess regular visitors of this site will know the next FIFA game won't be made by EA but your average uneducated Joe in the street probably wouldn't notice the difference if FiFa 2K24 were to become a thing

(Unless it plays completely different of course)

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for October 2022 Available to Download Now

Member_the_game

I bought Hot Wheels when it first released and really enjoyed it. The only reason I haven't played it recently is because I'm getting lazy and can't be bothered to get up and change discs so this will be a good opportunity for me to download it and start playing again

My aim is to get the Delorean from Back to the Future as I never quite managed it the first time around

Edit : as an added bonus I can now trade my physical copy in and put the cash towards something else

Re: Sony Producing Two Million PSVR2 Headsets by March 2023

Member_the_game

I did enjoy my first PSVR headset but ended up selling it as alot of the games gave me terrible motion sickness. To the point where I had to go lye down for a while

I'm sure I've read somewhere a while back that this new headset would go a long way to solving that problem (no idea how but I'm sure I read it somewhere)

Until I read some reviews and find out more about the effects of motion sickness I wouldn't be ordering one straight away.

Also the price is pretty important too..... I'm guessing by Sony's reluctance to tell us the price so far that it's going to be pretty expensive
