As much as I love my PS5 if there's one thing I've learnt from it's launch is that there wasn't really any need to dash out and get one straight away.
I've always been first in the queue whenever Sony or Nintendo launch a new console because I wanted to be able to play the latest games.
However if all the games are going to release as cross gen it kind of takes away that special new console feeling.
I get the argument of the last gen having a large install base that's too big to ignore and developers needed to see a return on their investments, but at the same time those of us who have paid out all that money on a shiny new console need to be rewarded for doing that.
As you said, I feel cheated.
Every time I see a game launching on PS4 & PS5 it really makes my blood boil
If it's available to everyone though, that would allow people who have already paid, to be able stack up their subscription (should they wish to do so). At least then they don't feel like they're being left out in the cold.
Personally I always tend to renew around Black Friday as there always tends to be a sale on then.
They could make their PS Plus Extra & Premium sales available to everyone for a start instead of cherry picking who can & can't take advantage of the offers when they're on sale.
I understand this obviously only effects existing PS owners rather than potential new buyers but still ..... a bit of goodwill goes a long way
We suspect itโll drop once the developerโs done
Seriously??? do these people actually get paid for these predictions.
Obviously it'll drop once they've finished, it won't launch before it's finished and they sure as hell aren't going to just shelve it once they've finished
On the flip side it could be argued that it might make Nintendo up their game and create a more powerful console to Rival the Playstation.
At the moment they kind of do their own thing because there simple isn't a need to have 3 "High end" consoles. With Xbox potentially out of the way that could pave the way for a better rivalry between Sony and Nintendo
I used to love a good tennis game, there seemed to be a never ending supply of them back in the PSWii60 era, but pretty much every one from PS4 onwards has turned out to be a complete let down
I'm hoping for another PS Plus sale in January (I'm sure there was one last year)
I could see the 30% off discount or whatever it was for Black Friday but due to a glitch it ended up charging me the full amount for PS Premium rather than the discounted price when it auto renewed.
Sony were good enough to give me a full refund but the discount offer unfortunately disappeared
I honestly haven't lol, I guess their just not my type of games so not something I've looked into or kept an eye out for.
I wasn't being negative, in fact if you look back at my posts for December's PS Plus Essential and Extra games I was extremely complimentary over them. (I'm not expecting you to actually go back and look by the way, just saying.... if you did, you'd see).
But in answer to your question. No, this is the first time any of these 3 games have ever been brought to my attention so prior to yesterday's reveal I'd never heard of any of them
Been playing since the late 80's, owned pretty much every Nintendo console and every PlayStation and a few Sega's and Xbox's in between but genuinely never heard of these 3.
I didn't say they were bad games, just never heard of them before
There have been plenty of months where there's not been a Single game that I'm the slightest bit interested in.
This list however I could pick at least 6 that I will definitely be giving a try. They may turn out to be terrible but at least they have my interest to start with
I'd be saying the same even if the game was released this week but if it's only releasing in 2025 the PS5 will be roughly 5 years old by that point and the PS4 should be dead and buried
To be fair it should be dead and buried now with the 5 being 3 years old but that's an argument for another day
I guess now that people have the option to simply download it without even leaving the house there isn't really the demand for midnight launches like there used to be.
Shame really, there was something special about going to one, especially if you were lucky enough to have the following day off work so you could stay up all night playing it (if you wanted to).
Another issue now is that even with a physical disc you'd still probably be waiting till at least 6am for it to install before you can actually play it.
I miss the days when games would just play straight from the discs

Re: PS5 Is Entering the 'Latter Stages of Its Life Cycle', Says Sony
@Luigia
Definitely..... although I didn't like it at the time I could just about accept it at the start, maybe upto about 6 months into the cross over period.
But there is absolutely no excuse for it to still be happening now over 3 years down the line

I completely agree.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About All of the Xbox Multiplatform Rumours?
I'd be happy to play the Forza games, but to be truthful, other than that they don't have a single exclusive that really interests me.
Which is basically why I sold my Series X
People worry that less competition is bad for the industry but as long as Nintendo is still around to keep Sony on their toes I'd be fine with that

One of the better months in recent times to be fair
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for February 2024 Announced
As a massive fan of the Tony Hawks series of games Rollerdrome is probably the highlight for me
Foamstars looks interesting so I'll certainly give that a try
I absolutely hate RPG games though so I'll probably pass on Steelrising

Re: GTA 6 Leaks Allegedly Go Viral on Social Media Days Prior to Full Reveal
@Drago201
The GTA 4 one that I went to was at my local supermarket. There were no pre orders, it was just simply done on a 1st come first served basis.
Me and 2 of my friends got there just after 10pm and there was already about 3 or 4 people already waiting so we got in the queue.
By the time it got to 11:45pm a queue had literally formed right the way around the whole store and they had to start turning people away.
It was so funny watching people walk in a few minutes before midnight expecting to get a copy but then seeing the size of the queue.
When we got ours the first thing we did was shove them down our pants for fear of being mugged on the way out of the store ๐
