Re: Official List of PS5 Pro Launch Games Revealed by Sony

NeonPizza

Resident Evil Village has been confirmed by Capcom to now run at 120fps on PS5. Thank god. That will cut down 50% of OLED motion clatirity blur, give it smoother life-like motion and make the controls more responsive and snappier thanks to reducing input lag down by half. But what does it even matter, when the pancake version overall pales in comparison to playing it on PS VR2?

If Capcom can bump up the flat screen version to 120fps with PS5 Pro, you'd think they'd get the PS VR2 version up to 90fps, considering VR requires a bit more juice. 90fps for Village VR would mean no more motion doubling, smoother life-like motion and less ghosting.

Re: PS5 Pro Unboxings Now Online, Same Box Basically

NeonPizza

@AhmadSumadi
That Pro design desperately needs the OG/PS1 multi-coloured decal instead of the all-black, topped with an Aqua blue ring stand. lol

Sony doesn't like to make their consoles and game controllers look fun anymore that's for sure. The PS1 in 1995 looked amazing, and it still does...ever since then, starting with the PS2, it's been mostly a black & white sterile box'd crap shoot.

Re: PS5 Pro Unboxings Now Online, Same Box Basically

NeonPizza

@OldGamer999
Exactly. PS5 Pro owners will have the option to plop on a disc drive. Something that's on it's way to extinction with PS6 anyways. I'm digital only when it comes to Switch & PS5. The writing is on the wall. PS5 game cases are flimsy, cheap, throwaways, with an ugly sterile white banner & ugly all-black PS5 logo, topped with legal agreement warranty slathered all inside the case(if you don't get inside out artwork), more than half the backside is also caked in warranty etc, and the discs them selves look bland and straight up awful. Take a look at the recent Silent Hill 2 unboxing. lol

Ya, I wouldn't want that junk eating up my space. On the flip side, you gain re-sale value which is a HUGE plus obviously. But eh, we're nearing to an all digital future with gaming anyways. I just wish digital titles were a little cheaper and they had a return window policy, even if it just allowed you to give the game a test drive for 30 minutes.

Also, 3rd party and now even 1rst party physical releases get releases months after the digital. Sketchy practice, when these companies know their buyers will often double dip with both. And then you have Limited Run, that take can often take over a year to ship their games out. lol what a completely load of BS. That's too stressful in my eyes.

XBOX will no longer support physical with their next console, PS6 won't come with a Disc drive(Sold separately) and physical games will be even less plentiful and probably even more bare bones artistically. Nintendo themselves will be the last company to hang on. I myself am over it. I don't care about bare bones vaccant modern physical video game media, and i don't like the idea of being 'attached' to plastic and cardboard anymore. The retro stuff from the 80's and early 90's still has a hold on me though.

Re: Metro Awakening Will Be a Reason to Own PSVR2 This Holiday

NeonPizza

@pukana
Q3's Pancake Lenses, and the blur free motion clarity of Quest 3's LCD, without any Mura, smoke the PS VR2's Frensel lenses & OLED display, with the exception of black levels.

Well worth the trade off imo. I can live without the PS VR2's superior Haptics & also adaptive triggers for now, if that means i get much better lenses and a more well rounded display. VR2's HDR is also complete BS. Since high brightness equals motion persistence blur. But if you play a game in SDR, and drop the VR2 brightness slider to nearly 0 you'll get much clearer motion, but at the cost of brightness. Sony left that out of the printing. lol

Re: Metro Awakening Will Be a Reason to Own PSVR2 This Holiday

NeonPizza

The only reason to own a PS VR2 at this point, imo, if you already own a Q3(And PC) is if the PS5 Pro can push more graphically intensive VR2 exclusives like Resident Evil Village VR & Resident Evil 4 Remake VR running at 90fps. That would eliminate motion doubling, reduce ghosting and make the motion smoother and more life like.

The 60fps reprojection motion doubling becomes so glaringly obvious and atrocious looking at times after being so accustomed to gaming in VR at 90fps with Q3, with titles like Resident evil 4 VR(Q3), to the point, where going back to the former two looks rough in motion and nowhere near as impressive. You adjust, mind you, but eh, both experiences could be so much better with 90fps and an SDR mode, which would mean nearly zero motion blur.

Can't forget the upcoming Subside for PS VR2, which may fill the void for those wanting a port of Ocean Descent's(PSVR1 Worlds) Shark Encounter. It's running at 90fps too!

Also, the recent Max Mustard however, in ways, was a bit of a disappointment compared to the stand alone Quest 3 version, just because the PS VR2's soft grainy fresnel lens clarity and high persistence motion OLED display fails at producing the same 'looking through a window-like' clarity of Q3, and it's blur free motion, nor can it match it's wide sweet spot. Q3's Pancake lenses + Dual LCD with the exception of black levels take VR to a whole new level. MM on PS VR2 looks blurry and soft by comparison. I couldn't stand it, even with the 90fps boost and enhanced visuals. It's like the equivalent of going from Composite(PS VR2) to component(Quest 3) strictly in terms of clarity/clearness/sharpness.

Anyways, for PS VR2, we've got the following slated before the end of the year

  • Metro Awakening
  • Alien: Rogue Incursion
  • Subside
  • Rich's Plank Experience 'Enhanced'

And for 2025 >

  • The Midnight Walk
  • Resident Evil 9 VR - (Rumoured! Capcom has HIGH interest in VR with RE moving forward. They feel that it's integral to the series moving forward)

I'll admit, i barely use my PS VR2 anymore compared to my Q3. Max Mustard and the recent Arizona Sunshine Remake(Soft blurry 60fps mess) really let me down. If it had Pancake Lenses + Dual 'FALD' LCD or even regular dual LCD, with every game pushing 90fps, i'd be singing a different tune!

Re: Microsoft CEO Says More Xbox Games Will Come to PS5, Hours After Rumours Said Porting Project Was Paused

NeonPizza

Switch OLED + PS5 Pro makes the most sense.
XBOX will forever be in dead last. Now the vast majority of their exclusives are heading to PS5, their official None-Elite controller is pure cheap garbage in quality, nor does it have Gyro, Haptics or Adaptive triggers, and Series X will be underpowered compared to the PS5 Pro this Nov 7.

Seems like it's practically dead-weight, a 3rd and unnecessary console the way i see it that isn't doing anything remotely unique or innovative. Just another can on the assembly line.

Crazy to think that within the next 3 years we'll have >

Switch 2 - March 2025 (Supposedly)
Quest 4 - Oct 2026
PlayStation 6 - Nov 2027 (If history is anything to go by)

Re: Resident Evil 2, 3, 7 PS5 Physical Versions Coming This December

NeonPizza

@gipsojo
PS5 can already get 2, 3 & 7 running at a semi unstable 120fps.
PS5 Pro will be able to lock a stable 120fps + 4K, hopefully without any negative impact on lighting or effects like what's available now in high frame rate mode.

But in all honestly, would this even be enough or warrant a second playthrough of a game you've already completed. I couldn't care less. I experienced 2 & 3 at 120fps on PS5, and 7 on PSVR1.

If anything, if they optimized RE7 for PSVR2, with 2K per eye, 110d FOV, deeper black levels, 72-90fps, topped with motion pointer aiming like in RE Village VR than I'm all for it.

Re: The Thing Remastered Looks Like a Superb PS5, PS4 Retelling of an Underappreciated PS2 Classic

NeonPizza

@Lanmanna
PS2 visuals, depending, can do that, especially for horror games that were striving to look photo realistic in the early 2000's. It just never ages well.

Code Veronica & Illbleed on Dreamcast looks more appealing than this. I would kill for an optimized/upgraded Illbleed port on PS5(4K + 120fps) or Switch. That poor little janky gem has been left for dead on one of the greatest consoles of all time. Sniffles.

Re: Resident Evil 2, 3, 7 PS5 Physical Versions Coming This December

NeonPizza

@ear_wig

The PS5 Versions of RE2 & RE3 offer 120fps, which is fanfrikkintastic, but the resolution takes a slight dip and supposedly there's a mild down grade with lighting or missing effects.

PS5 Pro should be able to nail 4K + 120fps and regain the lighting and effects that are present in the PS5's base 4K+60fps mode. Maybe Capcom will be able to squeeze Raytracing in there as well!

Either way, I've already beaten RE2 & RE3 Remake on PS5 at 120fps on my 65" OLED, and they were glorious. More So RE2Remake obviously. And it's little too late for an RE7 PS5 Pro update too. Beat that one on PSVR1. The pancake version felt like nothing by comparison.

Re: Mini Review: Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered (PS5) - A Hella Good Update

NeonPizza

Nintendo Life's review made this one out to be pretty mediocre, but that's expected when the Switch is biting more than it can chew running off of PS3+ hardware. Nobody in the talk back seems to even acknowledge nor care that the proper PS5 version exists.

Instead of complaining, just get it on PS5/PS5 Pro and call it a wrap. This is why owning both Switch & PS5(or PC) is kind of integral, you pretty much get the best of both worlds, and never have to settle for less since you're not forcing yourself into one consoles eco system.

Anyways, I'll probably snag this on sale. In no rush to play it, or Shadow X Generations. Killing Time: Resurrected however is at the top of the list, followed by Silent Hill 2(once the PS5 Pro update lands) And Astro Bot.

Re: In Europe, 78% of Silent Hill 2 Copies Were Purchased on PS5

NeonPizza

Gotta get this digitally for PS5 Pro. Because PS5 physical media, along with PS3 & PS4 look horrendously sterile, boring and painfully ugly. I've been treating PlayStation like a PC since PS4 Pro when i finally bounced back into gaming after an 8 year hiatus back in 2013. The idea of stacking PS3, PS4 & PS5(or XBOX360, One & Series X) game cases in multiple book cases, for me personally, would be a massive eye sore and a complete waste of space.

The writing is on the wall after all. Game cases are slathered in legal text agreement/warranty nonsense, topped with an ugly outer case boasting a lame white banner and an all-black PS5 logo. It's so depressing. The only redeemable aspect is resale value, which is kind of a big deal don't get me wrong.

I still buy official 'day one' physical Switch games, because they're that much more appealing and unique. Still kind of bare bones, but they've got a bit of charm to them. I won't mess with Limited Rung Games(unofficial copies that take 7 years to get in the mail), or even official copies that wind up getting a release 2-3 months after the digital.

XBOX will obviously be officially out with physical with their next console, the PS6 won't come with a disc drive(Instead, optional). Nintendo will be the last to push physical video game media, but who knows, we may just be getting Nintendo-only copies, while 3rd parties like Capcom and indies stick solely with digital. There's my stupid caffeinated ramble for the day.

Re: Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2024 - Best Deals on PS5 and PS4 Games, Controllers, SSDs, 4K TVs, and More

NeonPizza

The only 4K TV's that matter as of now, with gaming, is Samsung's latest S90D QD-OLED. If you settled for an LG OLED(WOLED) than you're taking a huge hit with colours and severe out of box black crushing. I could never go back to that. QD-Colour gets you very close to CRT & plasma Colour, and the S90D's out of box black crushing can easily be corrected without a professional $400-$500 calibration, unlike LG OLED's.

A 55" or 65" QD-OLED + a RetroTINK4K Scaler is the ultimately way to fly IMO. Expensive, but well worth the money, if money isn't too much of a concern.

TINK4K's 'triple strobe black frame insertion' for 24-30fps Content(Aka > Movies & TV) will cut down close to 60% of OLED motion blur, and get rid of that choppy OLED film judder, removing more than even a plasma & CRT. It turns QD-OLED into a plasma killer. The downside is that it's limited to 1080p instead of 4K and you'll get mild flicker on Whites.

For gaming, it's 60hz BFI will reduce 50% of OLED motion blur @1080p, but instead of 10ms of lag you'll get hit with about 21ms. The 50% blur reduction makes a huge difference, but the doubling in input lag may put quite a few people off. Not a great solution, but one worth looking into.

Re: Scalpers Want $10k to Try to Buy You a 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro

@NEStalgia
True about the internet. But even then, I always flip flop and question even video game forum social media. Interacting online with internet rando's, that come and go, and ultimately don't give a flying squirrel about one another because there's no real world relationship makes it all seem shallow. It's all self fulfilling hooplah, meeting ones needs to fill the real world video game friend-less void. lol

My friends aren't into gaming, so i have to go online and hit up the forums. YouTube is far less appealing, since it's a massive cesspool with thousands and thousands of people, you get lost in the shuffle and wind up with one off conversations and you never hear back from that person ever again. lol It's often just an attention seeking top comment contest. If they removed the ability for users to 'like' & 'dislike' other users comments, and the YouTuber itself hearting comments, there would be a much larger focus on actual conversations.

Plus, whenever i go out I'm always with a friend or family member who always have a smart phone on stand bye. I don't even take my flip phone with me half the time. lol

There's nothing good about the now other than video games, using YouTube as a nostalgic time machine, and maybe some movies & TV series. But they're few and far between.
So many people say the World went bad in the 2000's, I'd argue and say it started to get bad in the later 90's. Late 90's still had awesome video games(Generational power leaps, 3D polygon gaming still in it's infant stage etc), but most of the pop music, fashion, movies, even commercials, cartoons(etc) all went down hill. The 2000's was basically the nail in the coffin.

Late 80's + very early 90's is my personal sweet spot. Oh, and did you get your PC Rig yet for Quest 3 & PSVR2? If so, is it living up to expectations? I'm really curious as to how much we'll benefit with PSVR2 games using a PS5 Pro. If it could get something like Resident Evil Village VR running at 90fps instead of 60 at a locked 2000x2040per eye, than that's a huge win. A huge win for a headset that's going to remain in dead last, with Quest 3S taking the top spot since it's half the price of Quest 3, and Q3 sitting right in the middle.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?

NeonPizza

I'll get around to it probably early next year when I have the PS5 Pro so i can play it look and running it's best. I'm in no rush, to play an incredibly depressing horror game no matter how good it's supposed to be.

Wish there was a PSVR2 Mode to experience it in first person VR and 3rd person VR. But alas.

Re: PS Store Confirms Lots More PS5 Pro Enhanced Games with New Tag

NeonPizza

Wondering what exactly has been enhanced with RE4 Remake & RE Village.

RE Village will now probably support RayTracing at a 'locked' 60fps + 4K. Or offer 120fps, without RT at a slightly lower resolution. Same thing probably applies to RE4Remake.

It would be neat to see, but i wouldn't replay either from start to finish with the enhancements. Already experienced both. No more surpises to be had.

Re: Scalpers Want $10k to Try to Buy You a 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro

NeonPizza

@NEStalgia

And being in your 40's(And 30's) can be limiting as far as hanging out with your friends and gaming goes. It's never the same. Most people in their 30's and on wards drop out of gaming, have families and eventually move somewhere else.

Get-togethers can be rare. It's no surprise why so many dudes without their own family's or friends who don't share the hobby are practically alone in their hobby, and have to venture online into the forums & YouTube to talk about what they're playing. Video games & movies are meant to be shared after all.

But when you're a kid in the late 80's early to mid 90's, and just going to school, with all the free time in the world, topped with a magical view or perspective on the world(ahem late 80's/early 90s), video game get-togethers with friends & family is common and in abundance. Ah, It's never the same. If i had kids, and if they enjoyed Nintendo(etc) it would be next big thing, and a great way to bond and share that level of excitement within the hobby again. My nieces, well, they just want to play minecraft and Roblox. lol While, Super Mario Odyssey(etc) get tossed to the side.

They enjoy Quest 3 too, heck, even one of my aunts does. But that awful unreliable screen casting with Quest 3 nearly kills the social element of it all.

Re: Scalpers Want $10k to Try to Buy You a 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro

NeonPizza

@NEStalgia
I was and still am pretty much out of the loop as far as PC gaming goes. In the very early 90's, I messed with Wolfensetin 3D, DOOM 1&2, and played some C64 on the side at my friends, but that was it really, and caught a glimpse of Diablo, Turok, StarCraft & Halflife(etc) throughout the later 90's. And yup, those PC game boxes sure looked awesome. Talk about over doing it though strictly in terms of the size of the boxes themselves. Why would a floppy disc need a box that's larger than Earthbound SNES?

They really gave those things their all though, and didn't skimp out in the slightest. They felt like pieces of Art, just as NES, SNES, GameBoy, maybe Genesis & PS1 Long box games did. Saturn also initially had the long boxes too, but the NA white banner and ugly generic NA saturn font ruined the aesthetic. ASTAL was easily the crown jewel in my tiny Saturn collection.

And yes! Corporate and soul sucking is the name of the game these days. Cheaping out with numerous things(Eco friendly flimsy bendy DVD & Game Cases etc), lazyness across the board, severely lacking in creativity and imagination(Commercials, movies, even video game directs etc)...I have to force feed Late 80's/early 90's pop culture related stuff, be it music videos, commercials, cartoons, sitcoms, fashion(etc) into my life every day in order for me to be much happier, and to remind myself of a once far greater magical time.

I have a flip phone now that i don't even touch unless it's for calls or the odd text, try to keep off the internet as much as possible(Yet NintendoLife & PushSquare comment sections & forums still have a hold on me), and canceled Cable/TV a long time ago. I've said this before, but the pre-internet days were so much better. I hate the internet now, i'd rather go back to video game & movie magazines to get my info, and books for nearly everything else.

I mean really, if i had to 100% roll with the times, i'd be in a severe state of depression. The only thing that i like about the now are still video games(Mainly Nintendo Switch & Quest 3/PSVR2), and using YouTube as a late 80's/early 90's nostalgic time capsule.

Pop music really sucks now(It's 'cool' to be sad with this generation), Most of the movies do as well & TV series, Fashion blows(Bird nest/broccoli haircuts, Giant beards & Tatoos galore), physical media is dying off, commercials are pure garbage, and the internet + Social Media + Smart phones are ruining the world. Man, i wish i could step outside my door and it's 1989 all over again. And screw Mine Craft, Fort Nite & Roblox. I hate online gaming too. Can't compete whatsoever with being in the same room as your friends and family.

The world sucks now. lol Where's my time machine/deLorean so i can blast back to the late 80's/early 90's and give the modern times the big middle finger. We're living in a far less creative corporate boring and lazy world these days. Pales in comparison to the 80's & 90's, how things used to be. Felt like we were living in a world(NA at least) that was full of imagination.

Re: Talking Point: What Was Your Favourite PS5 Game from State of Play September 2024?

NeonPizza

@Max_the_German
On paper, Max Mustard on PSVR2, has a handful of enhancements including higher resolution down sampled into 2000x2040 per eye, upgraded textures, lighting(etc), haptics, richer vibrant colours & deep blacks thanks to the OLED display and whatever else.

Yet, the Stand alone Quest 3 version wins as far being wireless, portable, then you've got Pancake image clarity(No god rays, a sharper/clearer image, Wide sweet spot and zero motion blur clocked at 85nits SDR brightness.), no OLED mura, a small bump in resolution(2064x2208 per eye) if MM is even hitting that, and 'ring-less' controllers.

It will be fun comparing the two. But it just goes to show you that PSVR2 is not top priority, at all, with many of these VR developers. They go where the money and popularity is, and Quest 3&3S are it.
PSVR2 versions of certain games wind up getting released several months later, depending.

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

NeonPizza

@Enuo
I figure, what does it matter what my PS5 console looks like, when it's placed directly behind the right side of my 65" QD-OLED TV, and out of plain sight. The look of the Duel sense is what matters to me, and that's why I'm just going for two buy two of those 30th Anniversary standard Duel Sense controllers, even if i have to pay nearly double the price on eBay.

While settling with the Vanilla Pro Model, which will be available in abundance after the initial launch stock, as it's obviously the new defecto'/standard along side the PS5 Slim.

PS5 Pro will get a lot more interesting too, when we start getting PSVR2 enhancement 60-90fps upgrades.

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

NeonPizza

@Dodoo
Yup! So much for the 30th Pro Model. I'll just get the original/Vanilla Pro in November or December instead, and call it a wrap. No need to worry about scalpers prices or low stock since it's going to be the standard along side the PS5 Slim.

I do want two of those 30th Duel Sense controllers though. I'm willing to pay nearly double the price for one if that's what they wind up being priced as. So much nicer, than the ugly bland two-tone look of the regular duel sense line up. Missed those classic multi-coloured accented PS1 styled buttons.

I figure, i paid $60 more for the Splatoon 2 Switch Pro Controller(Neon Pink & Green handles) vs the all-black, and oh so boring, launch Pro controller costs. I would of paid double now that I have it, as the black official Pro controller is incredibly boring, dull and void of any fun. It's the most un-Nintendo-y' Controller I've ever seen.

Re: How to Pre-Order PS5's 30th Anniversary Collection

NeonPizza

Sigh. I just don't like the PS5 enough to cave and pay scalper prices for the PS5 Pro 30th, as beautiful as it looks(Minus the missing PS1 teal/sea foam green & sky blue accents)...I'm content just getting the Vanilla Pro since it's going to be placed right behind the right side of my 65" QD-OLED TV Anyways, and out of plain sight.

I don't have any room for it in my TV stand, which already has a Switch, Panasonic 4K Blu-ray Player and some decor/filler. Just had to throw that in there, because everyone cares.

Still, definitely going to score two of those 30th Duel Sense's! Those will be far easier to get, I'm assuming, and won't grenade the wallet. lol

Also, state of play time at 3:00pm PT.
Crossing my fingers they unveil Resident Evil 9 and have 'VR Mode' tagged at the very end of the trailer. Capcom mentioned that they still have very high interest in terms of plunking future RE games in VR, and the only mainstream consumer budget headset that's powerful enough to do the deed is PSVR2. I just hope they can get 9, along with Village & 4 Remake to run at 90fps with PS5 Pro. The motion doubling from 60-reprojection is just awful, including the high persistence blur from forcing HDR.

90fps(With PS5 Pro) + SDR support would be the ticket.

Re: Scalpers Want $10k to Try to Buy You a 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro

NeonPizza

@NEStalgia
What's Playnite? lol
And yes, Sea foam and Aqua Blue are both the much needed missing coloured accents, topped with my UI sound, music & Backdrop suggestions. Sony got it half right at least.

I'm not entirely sure if I'm actually going to preorder the PS5 Pro 30th either, that is, if I'm even lucky enough to even get one considering there's only around 13,000 only being sold. Scalper City here we come.

I'd be fine with the original version in all of it's inside out robot oreo cookie glory, with a Classic multi-colored PS1 underlay decal replacing the all-black one...But ya, Instead of the 30th Anniversary Pro I'm just going to just order two 30th Anniversary Duel sense controllers and call it a wrap!

But ya, so there's an actual way to edit and customize the PS5's UI music & SFX, or are you strictly talking PC? PS, i just turned 40 2 days ago. F*** Life. lol I'm really missing the early 90's and tail end of the 80's right now. There's very little that i like about the current times. I still think video games are mostly pretty awesome, Nintendo's still got it, minus their more corporate boring image these days, and of course, we can't forget about VR and the massive room for growth it has compared to pancake gaming.

And what i love about YouTube(The platform is a total double edged sword imo), is that i can use it as a nostalgic time machine and watch or find any 80's or 90's music videos and commercials at the touch of a button. Plus, those 65" Samsung QD-OLED TV's sure are pretty, once you pair it with a RetroTINK4K that is, to cut down 50% of OLED motion blur.

However, pop music sucks, fashion blows, most of the movies(Too realistic, bleak and mostly void of surrealism and the level of escapism compared to the older stuff) are terrible these days, I hate how physical media is on it's way out....I mean, the writing is on the wall. Half the time you open up a case, you're getting legal text agreement on white slathered everywhere if there isn't inverted art work. The Artistry and effort typically just isn't there, and most of the time 'official' physical gaming media is reserved for AAA titles. I feel like the PS1 long boxes(Think Jumping Flash!, Resident Evil 1, Rayman etc) were the last truly unique physical video game cases, but unfortunately the PS1, Saturn & Dreamcast opted for those CD/jewel cases. Then CD cases become DVD cases with PS2(etc), and now flimsy squishy cheap blu-ray-like cases with XSX & PS5. It's no wonder why I've gone digital. lol

Also, modern Commercials are corporate lazy lifeless soul sucking trash, Can't stand social media, smart phones or even the internet anymore. I'd gladly go back pre-internet, and just buy video game & movie magazines, or books etc. The 90's was truly without question the LAST of the great decades before computers ruined the world. Man, I can't even be bothered to comment on YT anymore.

Just to have one off conversations with internet rando's, including those that constantly posture and grand stand it up. YT should get rid of the like/dislike feature for comments, and even the heart system. It should be about conversations, not lame hallow comments or try hard bold statements from attention seeking weirdos striving for popularity in cyber land. lol

Re: Scalpers Want $10k to Try to Buy You a 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro

NeonPizza

@NEStalgia
To go along side the 30th Anniversary Pro & PS5, Sony needs to create a 2nd PS5 UI Music theme that draws inspiration from the PS1 boot up Logo theme, and a second UI backdrop theme that has the same vibrant neon splats as the PS1 memory card/UI screen! Plus, some lighter SFX-menu scrolling beeps!

https://preview.redd.it/the-diversity-of-psx-memory-card-managers-gallery-v0-gk2ecye6wjjc1.png?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=b80a850a9553ae13e533c0c9b89621976a9a9c6e

Sony never bothered to add in any Teal or light blue accented colours either with the PS5 Slim & Pro 30th editions, either. Regardless, the 30th Anniversary Pro looks miles better than the vanilla two tone black & white PS5 Pro.

Re: Jaw-Dropping 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro Console and Accessories Will Bankrupt You

NeonPizza

Nice! This is pretty much what I've always wanted. Finally, we've got multi-colored pink, green, blue & red face buttons, topped with the classic rainbow coloured PS1 logo to match, on both the PS5 Pro & Controller. I already have PS1 symbol replica sticker/decal placed beneath my top face plate to match the same look, as seen in the video, but it's nice to also have the light classic grey colour and controller coloured accents making a return.

And i couldn't care less about a disc drive. Most games aren't even getting physical releases anymore unless you resort to pre-ordering unofficial physical copies from the likes of LRG, which takes several months to even arrive in the mail after the digital version has already been relessed.

That's insane to me. I'm over it. Writing is on the wall, day one physical releases are typically reserved for AAA titles, and the physical media design/aesthetics itself are flimsy vaccant throwaway trash slathered in boring CG art work and legal text agreement.

Much nicer than the two tone bland off-white sterile soulless futuristic look of the Stock PS5 Slim, Pro & Duel Sense.

That would be thee' ultimate high powered semi consumer budget friendly easy plug n' play combination, if it ever, and will never, come to fruition. lol I still don't think Sony is out of the VR race just yet. They may be with PSVR2, but they could very well release a PSVR3 by 2030 for PS6 and finally get it right.

And every time I bounce back to my PSVR2, i feel like I'm zapping backwards a generation or two compared to Q3. Compound for ex, just released on PSVR2 a few weeks ago(late to the party, big time!), with enhancements like 120fps(instead of 90), an edge in visuals & resolution, greater haptics, adaptive triggers and of course deep blacks & better colours thanks to the OLED display.

And yet, i still overall prefer playing the Q2 version(hasn't been optimized for Q3 just yet) on Q3. The pancake lens image clarity combined with the LCD display just has clearer/sharper image, then there's the wide sweet spot, zero motion blur, being wireless(Ah, the freedom. lol), no rings surrounding the controllers to brush up against my hands, topped with far better comfort(Silicone interface + EliteStrap) and the bouncy(Yet some times buggy, as you pointed out earlier) yet awesome UI just makes everything feel more robust, on the fly and plesent to navigate through, as if I'm almost playing on a Nintendo or Apple product.

I do like the built in audio speakers as an option, solely because there's nothing inside your ears, or covering your ears which makes VR feel even more freeing and natural and far less isolating. And you can easily hear friends & family around you while you're enjoying VR and they're watching what you're playing on the TV. Although, PSVR2's stock ear buds sound so much better than Q3's speakers. Ideally, if this were even possible, I would shoot for a 7.2 virtual VR Surround system. If only!

The entire ear bud/head phone situation still sucks....I can't even use my DT770's with my PSVR2 OR Quest 3(When using the elite strap) simply because the sides of the head band push apart each headphone cup, preventing them from properly fitting or suctioning against your ears. Which leads to the audio taking a hit and the fit being clumsier. They still shift regardless. But to be fair, the DT770's are bulky and big, they're straight up 80's.

BTW, have you tried Casting your Q3 to your Laptop, Phone or TV? I purchased a Chrome Cast streaming stick, but Meta dropped support for it, and now it's back to being shoddy and completely unreliable. Connects half the time, then the signal drops at around 20 seconds in, lag and audio sync delay aside. It's a complete broken mess that rarely works. The work around, would be to download the Metta app on your laptop, and then connecting your Q3 to that, with an HDMI cable being sent from you LT to your TV, and wallah.

I wish Meta would just fully support Chrome Cast already. Casting shouldn't be this annoying and overly complex. I don't like how they constantly undermine the feature. It's mandatory when friends and family are over. PSVR2's casting works flawlessly....Although i wish i could get rid of the boarder surrounding the image. lol it shrinks my 65" OLED TV's image down to like 42".

Those big generational power leaps are long gone man. The last one i feel that was massive, was when i went from PS1/N64 to the Dreamcast during it's 1999 launch. Plus, i typically hate photo realistic graphics. The more realistic most games look, the less interested I am unless you're a Resident Evil or Silent Hill.

I wonder if PS5 Pro can get something like Resident Evil Village running at 120fps, or RE4 Remake running at native 4K + 60fps + RayTracing. PS5 Pro is a powerful easy PC without the friction points and headache of a PC. SO it's a day one for me, and it will also upgrade PSVR2 games too. I'm officially done with MS and not interested in PC anymore. It's looking like a NintenStation + VR/MR(Quest etc) future for this dooder!

Where's the Wireless Connectivity to PS5/PS5 Pro update for Quest 3 when you need it? That's the combo I'd love to see, and doesn't seem 'that' far fetched. Sony's clearly nowhere near as invested in VR as they once were, so let Meta handle all of the VR/MR work, headset/controller design(etc) while gaining the ability to pair itself with PS5 Pro/PS5 for high power VR gaming, aside from picking the number 1 most popular power console available.

And ya, I'll be sure to add that Q3 game you mentioned on the Wish List. I haven't actually been keeping up with what's coming soon to Q3. I've taken more interest in PSVR2 as of late with the likes of Subside, Metro Awakening, Alien Rogue Incursion(etc), but If they can't get locked at 90fps with PS5 Pro, then eh. That motion duplication 60 reprojection is just awful.

Going from Compounds buttery smooth 120fps, and then back to RE: Village VR's 60's motion duplication, and high persistence blur due to the forced HDR effect which forces you to nearly max the VR brightness slider truly tarnishes the experience.

A locked 90fps @2000x2040 per eye in SDR would correct all of those issues above. But alas. And I hope you're wrong about the PSVR2 Revision. lol Because lets face it, PC VR will not get VR off the ground.

It's going to take a future headset(Or better yet, set of thick glasses by 2030 with Sony & Nintendo....Although Nintendo would have to settle for less graphically demanding games.) wirelessly connected to a power console to get VR to skyrocket in popularity and sales. PC is a friction point heavy anti-plug n play headache. It just isn't happening.

Can't speak for the Elite. But I've hated low tension sticks since the release of the original PS1 Dual shock back in 97, was it? N64 had and still has the highest tension stick around as far as I'm aware of. It helped tremendously at catching those subtleties with Mario and whatever else. You know what would be great, if Sony designed some sort of inner mechanism that allowed you to rotate/switch positions of the Analog stick & D-pad from top to bottom, by the press of button or switch. That would solve the entire Asymmetrical/Symmetrical bickering.

And ya, makes sense with those VR Rings having the advantage, or just being more reliable in the tracking department. Even though most people will find ring-less VR controllers more aesthetically appealing, easier to use, they're just smaller and quicker to get up and running, unless you've grown accustomed to those PSVR2 sense controllers like we have.

I still think if Sony opted for a VR2 revision, they'd mimic what Meta did with Q3 and ditch the rings, until a more improved Ring-less solution surfaces with Q4 in 2026.. BTW, did you hear about the rumoured wireless PSVR2 that may actually be a thing? A an accidental leak showed a small battery icon below the PSVR2 headset, on the PS5 pop up icon menu.

New PSVR2 (2025) > Here we go again. lol What do you think of the following ideas below? If priced accordingly, and in line with the recent PSVR2 $200 price drop, topped with a great trailer of new VR-ified titles(Resident Evil 9 VR, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission+, Subside, just to name a few etc) could give the PSVR2 a new lease on life.

  • Wireless Connectivity to PS5 Pro & PS5 - (While Also including a detachable cable for tethered play offering zero image compression and no input lag)
  • 50% Slimmer visor - (Thanks to Pancake Lenses)
  • Ring-less Controllers with Traditional 'Duel Sense' Analog sticks.
  • Pancake Lenses
  • Improved padded interface for comfort
  • QD-LCD FALD SDR Display
  • IPD Dial with numbers
  • Colour Pass through
  • Built in audio speakers - (Plus headphone jack.)
  • Mixed Reality Mode - (With the power of the PS5 Pro, the characters, objects etc brought into our living space would look unreal compared to what Quest 3 is offering. That 'tablet powered' Great white shark, as freaky as it is, would look like a a second fiddle's second fiddle compared to what the PS5 Pro is capable of pushing.)

Having this thing swim out side our virtual windows is totally doable with the power of a PS5 Pro.

Also, you've got to check out Compound on PVSR2 or (Quest 3 Steam VR). You can adjust the floor height easily to compensate for the lack of a seat mode, and it works perfectly. Be sure to play it on OldSchooler mode(Orange Syringe in the Vending Machine)...

Playing anything in first person on a TV at this point in the game can't even begin to compete. DOOM Eternal on PS5 paired with a 65" QD-OLED TV, running at 120fps with analog stick aiming pales in comparison to this indie 1-man developed VR title. Pus, Compound has the best manual reloading motion mechanics in any VR game i've experienced. It's a ton of fun. I just wish it were lives based, instead of being a rogue lite.

Yeah, that makes sense. Looks like Indies will continue to push the PSVR2 forward. But Capcom still has high interest in VR-ifying the next Resident Evil. They even said they feel like VR is integral to the series moving forward, and obviously the PSVR2 is going to be the perfect match.

Q3 can't handle it graphically in stand alone, and PC VR just feels like the nichest' ghost town around. I'll be over the moon if the PS5 Pro can get something like Resident Evil Village running at 90fps. That would eliminate that nasty motion duplication effect, make the motion smoother and more life like and cut down on the ghosting. 90fps needs to be standard for VR, but the PS5 for visually high demanding titles is biting more than it can chew. PS5 Pro however might just deliver.

I've been enjoying mine a lot more lately as well, with titles like the recently released Compound(On old school mode, that is ),and plan on diving into MADiSON VR in the next few days, which i hear is probably the freakiest VR horror game yet. And then we have the upgraded/optimized version of Max Mustard arriving this Oct 2. I'm really hyped for that one, as It's the only and Closest thing to partially fill that Astro Bot: Rescue Mission void.

Plus, Capcom has high interest in VR-ifying the current RE game they're working on. They said it themselves, they feel like VR is integral to the series moving forward. Wouldn't be surprised when they unveil the next new RE trailer, with 'VR Mode' rising from a cloud of mist at the very end. lol

Sales supposedly sky rocketed after the price cut, temp' surpassing both Quest 3 & PS5.

Whatever, we need a revision. Because lets face it, most PS5 owners are probably turned off because it's a bulky tethered uncomfortable headset with fresnel lenses, even with the recent $200+ price cut. Use the Quest 3 as a template and best it.
