@Gloamin, since my last post I have viewed the side by side presented here with other side by sides, and others have not presented a darkened PS5 version like here. Even with raytracing that adds more natural lighting effects. I still hate the god rays that look like a nuke explosion.
As you say there are some very noticeable improvements, with or without rt, but the dark setting ruins it all.
The PS5 version here that looks dark is the only video that looks dark to me, games, apps, cable, and internet on any of the devices I use.
@Gloamin, it is less about needing an eye exam and more about how the PS5 version looks like a darkened PS4 version. Almost all scenes on the PS5 actually look worse than the same scenes on the PS4.
For example: all interior scenes especially the pub scene 3:45, outside :56 is maybe the worst of dark outside scenes. At 1:45 that closeup shows the improved PS5 lod and along with improved distance lod is obvious even to my old eyes.
Overall this comparison is not good as one version appears to be incorrectly adjusted too dark. For me I would adjust down the PS4 brightness just a tad, and would never play any game set as dark like the PS5 version is here.
And for RDO, sounds of drum roll followed by Sad Trombones, free all you can eat cans of beans, 50% off of all the stupid clothing you don't want to wear, and still no private lobby option. Thanks Grinch Starr.
Long list of fixes is cool but why is breaching into Franlin's house an issue that needed fixed??? Open the interiors already, geez.
Overall this update looks interesting and gives me a reason to play GTAO again. Thanks R*.
I have not played this game because I would prefer it in first person with a 3rd person option for riding a horse, reported poor performance on PS4, and annoying glow/God rays.
That said I still enjoy comparisons like this and again to me sometimes it looks better on new, but sometimes better on old. Here I prefer interiors on old while I prefer exteriors on new.
What puzzles me is why would an overall darker image be considered an improvement. For me 60fp over 30fps and short loading times is what would get my interest to replay or first play. The darkness can be adjusted out in a minute.
Cool heist location but thumbs down to game play. Is there no cover system, are the players wearing magic invisible armor, can the police not hit the broadside of a barn, and the voiced walk through guide sounds like the voice over in a tv comercial.
I was going to play Days Gone until I found out that the protag is another gruff white guy that looks at a female derriere. I would however reconsider if a patch would replace gwg with a mixed race non binary maybe a woman maybe a man of special needs that is height and physically challenged and requires a special built motorcycle.
Nice update for first timers and for those wanting to replay. I have no interest now in a replay or this new sci-fi dlc. However I would have high interest in an arcade mode like FC5 has.
One question. Will the sci-fi dlc file be included with the free update thus adding unnecessary bloat to storage to those not purchasing the dlc.
Want an fov option, larger text sizes, npc's that don't say the same line or two over and over? Of course you do, and for the low cost of a season pass you can have it all.
My knee-jerk response of the day to something I read on the internet.
RE5, released in 2009, deserves more love. It is not RE like PS1 RE games but is lots of hours of fun, has a co-op option, and like RE4 has the replay value of improving weapons. Both 4 & 5 have weak weapons on the first play that makes enemies overpowered. Replays even things out with more powerfull weapons.
The RE3 remake is one of my favorites. I wish it was longer. Overall it should have been released as a $40 expansion of the RE2 remake. Has anyone actually played the online part of the RE3 remake?
My old RE favorites are 4 and 3, both played on a PS2. PS3 favorite is 5. New favorites are the 2 and 3 remakes. I have played 7 but not 8.
Mr X, RE2 remake, was so less annoying on replays after I learned to play as much that is possible before triggering his appearance, and learning how to dodge him.
I use a PS4 PRO with an old LG 1080p TV, and I always pick performance. Borderlands 3 is a good example of the smoother play and much less camera motion blur if set at performance.
Vice City definitive offers motion blur off, depth of field off, and performance mode. With that I can have a sharp image with silky smooth frames and no blur ruining the image and causing dizziness and or a headache.
Maybe 4K tv is the blame. Imagine if PS5 was still 1080p. Games could still look awesome, have 60fps minimum, high amounts of trees, animals, people, destructible/interactive world, improved ai, and standard options for raytracing, field of view, depth of field, motion blur, and more.
Screen shots are usually enough for me, but a good photo mode can add much more. Far Cry 5 has one the best photo modes, better than FC6, that I have used, and is simple to use.
A good and easy to use photo mode would be nice at release, but it may not be that simple to implement and is thus scheduled for post release.
@Darude84, thanks. I have Premium so I have them all. My issue was it seemed difficult when deciding between Extra and Premium 2 months ago. Also Dying Light 2 is now, after some delay, viewable when selecting the list of game trials.
Along with this news is still the lack, I can not find it, of a simple way to few the lists of only Extra games and only Premium games.
Also in game trials Dying Light 2 is not listed with trial games and is only found by doing a search of game trials, or on the list of all games. So I would not even know about the trial had I not seen it mentioned on Pushsquare or I am looking to purchase DL2 from the catalogue and find a trial availableπ€

@Ravix, excellent point, you don't want to notice or think about frame rates while playing. For me that is also with the camera, camera motion blur, movement, depth of field, field of view, text size, ui, god rays, and stupid lens flare.
Games for me are like movies, the less I notice the more I enjoy it. Nothing worse than watching a movie where I constantly think about the camera, lens used, hand held dizzy effect, any blur that does not look natural, and overall thinking the cinematographer and director are idiots. Same with games with unwanted motion blur, dof blur, lens flare, narrow fov. and tiny text, all stuff I don't want to notice.
PS4 PRO Vice City definitive from Plus. Wow does it look good with smooth frames. Good graphics options too.
Some cons: car windows looking like cellophane, spawn issues during rampages, ***** cops and civilians running around like their pants are on fire. Ambulance driving and cops running in circles. Still drowning of course.
Some Pros: still fun after all these years, Human League doing Facination, Diaz's car still the same, no load between islands, and cheats still work. The updated camera/movement makes play so much more enjoyable.
I want a minimum 30fps with smooth locked frame rates and no camera motion blur along with no dof blur and fov options. Also a performance mode choice that provides 60 fps should be standard.
What I do not want is motion sickness, eyestrain, and headaches, from my eyes attempting to focus blurry images along with dizzy uneven frame rates.
Also ditch the tiny and non bold text. Screens getting larger as the text gets smaller. What in the wide wide world of sports is that nonsense?
This looks somewhat interesting however I will probably wait for it to come to a Plus tier or sale priced.
Watching the trailer got my wheels turning as I thought of some possibilities. Next to the gas station could be a Diner Sim, a Used Cars Sales Sim, and a Nearby Mobile Home Community Sim. For all the people a Laundromat Sim, a Road House Sim, and a Grocery Store Sim. To keep the peace a Highway Patrol Sim. Also a Motel Sim with the choice of a creepy or not creepy owner/operator.
Vice City is the only trilogy game I wanted so I am happy about that. Probably try a couple of AC games
The Yakuza games are Essential games put in Premium for the added $20 needed to play them. Not ok for those wanting stream only PS2 and PS1 not remastered and downloaded and playable from a PS4 hard drive games.
Options are great to have as with video games it is not one size fits all. When GTA 5 released 9/13 there was no option to disable that the screen would flash after every kill. Seriously not only did someone at R* think so highly of it that an option to disable it was never considered. That kill flash was hated by many, myself included, and 18 months later a patch provided a disable option. However there were gamers that loved it and wished prior GTA had a kill flash like in GTA 5.
Weapon degrading in DI and Rip Tide are not bad as weapons have unlimited repairs. Rip Tide is best with purchasable repair material and ammo crafting for shotguns and rifles that are effective unlike the near useless shotguns and rifles in DI along with no ammo crafting.
So hopefully DI 2 is like Rip Tide. Maybe also an easy, and solo, duplication trick like DI and Rip Tide have.
Add me to the list that had completely forgotten the product Stadia.
Game streaming is for sub services, but still needs the option to download for superior performance. Also games need to have the dlc available. No matter how well a game like Fallout 3 may stream it is just half of the game without its dlc.
As for subservices like Premium why are screen shots and video capture not available while streaming? So disappointing not to be able to record funny moments in Fallout 3 and Saints Row 2.
@Jaberwocky, an old, but true saying goes something like this; " In matters of taste there is no argument". What is also true is that on this list AC Black Flag, a good all new game, lost to Journey, a good game, but a port from PS3.
FC 6 is the first FC game I have no desire to replay. It does have some fun, an interesting map, and looks and performs well on my PRO. However midway I started to lose interest, hit a wall, and then took a month break before finishing so I could delete it.
Overall I did not much like the story or the characters. About midway I wanted to ditch the Libertards and switch sides. The auto switch from first person to third person when entering a camp is very annoying and there is a loooong lag for the world map to appear after selecting it. Then there is the annoying ammo type function that for some reason had to be changed from the system in FC 5.
A list of 50 is too short when remasters, definitive editions, games listed twice, and so many Final Fantasy games are going to be included. Remakes like Mafia and RE 2,3 are ok as those are essentially new games.

I have not played Village, but I liked fp in RE7 that has small interiors. For me first or third view is about camera placement and fov. 3p in previous RE games have all felt good to me, camera view and fov.
GTA and RDR2 are 3p but have 3 camera distances along with 2 height views while driving, and all have good fov. Fp in GTA5 and RDR2 offer an fov slider but the camera is too far forward when driving, and overall feels clumsy in fp compared to fp in other games like Far Cry and Borderlands.
First person games need an fov slider. The camera also needs pulled back some to feel more natural and not like my eyes are forward my head. Most games on consoles do not off fov or any other camera/view options. With an fov option along with a pulled back camera fp may be liked by more. Borderlands is much better at 85% or 90% instead of the narrow 65%.
The best for me has been the Fallout and Elder Scroll games where going from fp to 3p is one button press, feels natural in either, has a 3p distance slider, and a good fov without a slider.
@sanderson72, PS4 10.0? Yea still no mention on this site about 10.0 ??? What is interesting is that both PS4 and PS5 received the same updates to zooming the web browser and remote play. Could it be the PS5 will have a real browser added?
The PS5 has an unofficial brower that needs tricks to use, and supposedly nobody uses the PS4 browser. So 9 years after the PS4 was released a really usefull zoom update was added to a web browser that nobody uses. Well i use the PS4 web browser and the improved zooming is very useful for me, thanks Sony.
9/15, maybe my best score ever. The first 2 and Jacket were pure guesses, and multiple choices were not needed with 4, Premium, 2004, Lucky 38, and Jack Krauser.
NFS and Deathloop are good additions and along with Extra and Premium there are lots of games for me to play now on my PRO. However in the next 6-12 months how many and of what quality of PS2 and PS3 games will be added?
Then there is streaming. Will there ever be an option to download any game? Also why no screen shots or video capture of games being streamed? Is it because it is considered an app and apps are blocked from screen capture? If so is it impossible to unblock an app individually?
Woke, not woke, in a coma, whatever, I just don't think I will ever take a liking to those four gangsta geeks/Malibu's most wanted characters.. Maybe it's my age, 25+, and maybe playing the game will change my mind.
I streamed SR2 for a few hours yesterday. Still lots of fun 14 years later from my first play.
