Both SS and SB have been half price for a while.

While both looked bang average on release, had they released at £30-£35. They may have had more success, because there is more chance of people giving it a try.

@Jtheripper as far as I know PS/PX are staying independent.

But it’s just weird to have it for this one game when there’s all sorts PS don’t get (or Xbox or Nintendo)

Playtime is the biggest nonsense metric going.

I played MHW for 1000hrs, it cost me £50. Had I played 10hrs they still would have got the exact same from me.

Wilds is my most anticipated game, this year and next. Assuming it’s not broken on release it will be my most played game. And my GoTY. I’m certain.

Even if they nailed SS, it would never beat the sales of Hogwarts, the IP of that game is just far too strong.

I have both Plus and GPU, (and Nintendo online) I get enough value from both, but I’m definitely more savvy with what I buy.

Some games you just know will come to a subscription so I don’t buy them, others I still buy. For instance, bought rebirth for £50 traded it in upon completion, got £43 back for it and cost me a further £12 to get dd2.

So long as I have good, finished, polished games (which tends to be the case of most Sony 1st party or some of the bigger 3rd party deals) I don’t care who puts it on the console.

It all happened because people brought up ToS etc. So Sony looked at taking the tough stance on it (wrongly) to stop any further outcomes.

Rebirth for me. Then DD2. Haven’t played helldivers yet, as I’m not really into multiplayer. And I’m also looking forward to trying unicorn overlord when I get chance!

Problem is many many games are already above £70 especiall For early access/deluxe edition/special edition and so forth.

Sure games can keep rising, but most gamers will just cut back on what they buy.

It’s ok saying but it cost X amount to make or inflation means it should be X amount. That just simply isn’t how pricing works. Consumers have a limit of what they believe is tolerable. And for many £70 has reached that limit. ( for non casuals sure they may pay a little more)

Plus regarding inflation, there is a huge difference between shipping digital and making a cartridge and fitting the entire game on it, with box art, manuals and so on. The inflation arguement is nonsense.

I mean his comments are true, soon as one does it the rest follow, unfortunately not just in gaming, it happens in most sectors. They just need one company to make the jump first.

However had BG3 flopped, would larian have been able to keep all their staff?

Why wouldn’t it be meh? A 7/10 game is a 7/10 be it on Xbox, ps, or an iPhone.

I personally don’t overly mind. I prefer 60 for fast paced stuff, but I can play fine at 30 for many.

But I do think that it should be an option on all games.

The advancement of TV screens has caused this issue for many, some who are more susceptible to it. So I fully understand their viewpoint.

So yeah I believe choices in games are a must.

Normally in a game where there is optional male/female, I tend to go for the female version as they usually have the better designs/armour/equipment or whatever.

But monster hunter ice borne was my favourite game of ps4 era with over 1000hrs in it, and I still go back often. So I’ll be there day 1 regardless!

@DennisReynolds they kinda already have it in mh world, with the guiding lands, admittedly it isn’t a huge open world but monster come and go and so on, so they probably saw how many people enjoyed the endgame and are working that angle

Completely the other way. 0 new ps5 controllers, yet on a 3rd for series S in around 14months despite using ps5 more.

But the Xbox controller does feel very cheap, plasticky and clicky. Luckily stick placement doesn’t bother me either!

@ORO_ERICIUS if every game is broken then every game gets a low score. It’s not difficult.

But many review sites will be scared they will lose access to review copies if they decide to point this stuff out.

It may not affect us who frequent sites like this regularly and keep upto date with gaming related info. But for a more casual who see’s 9 and 10’s everywhere can influence them to buy it. Which equals more sales and helps give the green light to other developers that releasing in this state is ok.

I’ve said it many times before, but review sites HAVE to be held responsible for playing their part in allowing this to consistently happen.

I’m more disappointed that sites gave this a 9/10 10/10 when it’s riddled with performance issues.

It just makes it ok for developers to keep releasing games in this state. Because sites praise them people go out and buy them. And by then it’s too late. (And this goes for many developers not singling out capcom)

Review sites HAVE to do better.
