Really is becoming a baaaaad generation.

Remakes, remasters, repackaged games, with a handful of new ones that mainly release a mess.

At this point the articles are flogging a dead horse.

You could figure out that it’s going to take age due to the fact no one bought it or is playing it.

Even gamers aren’t that stupid.

PC’s aren’t going to take over.

Maybe a % of enthusiasts like us who frequent here.

But the large majority - casuals - just aren’t going to migrate to PC’s.

They are going to go to streaming.

Consoles wil be around up until the point they are surpassed by streaming.

Simple as that.

Not every game hits. This one didn’t.

Sony just have to take the Loss and move on. It’s all they can do.

The ‘inflation’ argument just doesn’t hold up.

No issue with ubi or Star Wars, but way too manage average reviews out there.

@AverageGamer it was just an example. I wouldn’t buy a tv that came without a remote. Or a sofa that had no cushions.

My point being there is very few industry out there where consumers happily buy broken products. And then pay a premium on top to buy said broken product early.

Devs need to stop releasing games in a broken unfinished state.

No other industry would be accepting this quality. You wouldn’t buy a car that’s missing the paint. Or a hotel with no bed.

And this buy 3day early bulls**t can just f**k right off. And get rid of predatory Microtransaction.

Games that are finished on release? Yes I’ll pay. But if not I’ll wait till it’s fixed, has all its content released.

@NEStalgia may as well buy it on the ps5, I imagine it will look pretty damn good and run well. So not sure on this type of game how much of a bonus you would get from the PC port in a year or 2

I mean I’m pretty much certain it will not be broken on release but you never know in this age!

Kinda funny this surfaces on the exact same day that Obsidian have said avowed isn’t ready on Series S (or well along these lines)

@MikeOrator well it got a 4/10 on Eurogamer so I’d check what they played and avoid that version too.

But who knew reviewers would review things differently according to their taste?

Sounds like I’ll wait for a few of the new modes to be added before purchasing.

Probably means a few patches will be added and a discount.

Look in all honesty nobody is complaining about the polish/finish/release state as it certainly looks like a Sony product.

It’s just live service isn’t where it was 8 years ago. There are so many f2p games what is there about concord that all the other games don’t have?

I’d argue nothing. So what is the incentive for people to for out £40 to try it? When they can just go download any of the other games to try for free?

Maybe it would have been better received had there been a strong release of first party games and this was an addition GaaS game to those.

Not every game hits, and this is Sony’s big L. It’s not their first, won’t be their last.

Since then we have seen MS increase price in Japan, then GP. Sony has now increased price in Japan, so I expect a plus rise.

One does it then it gives the other ‘permission’ to follow suit.

Wont be long till there is a plus increase.

@Fiendish-Beaver except, if a pro is coming (and especially this year) MS will have the dev kit. They will know exactly what is inside (because of porting games over) So MS can make sure the nextbox is significantly more powerful… in turn it means the ps6 would then be more powerful still as they haven’t rushed development one would guess.

I can’t disagree with the score. Because you knew from the outset it would be well made as Sony first party tends to be polished.

However even if it was 9/10 everywhere it would still struggle.

It just doesn’t have a market. There’s no niche like helldivers had or anything. It’s just another live service shooter at £35 sitting in a mountain of already established £0 live service shooter.

If you get bored of the £0 shooter you are currently playing, you are going to give another £0 game a try, not the £35 option

No it’s not for me. Never will be.

I don’t have it because I don’t buy an awful lot digital. But it’s just following MS nerfing their rewards.

@ATaco probably won’t be much faster. NPC willnever be as good as a group of humans, and usually by adding NPC it increases the health of the monster you are hunting.

Because that’s £480 outlay (already 8 first party games at £60 a go) plus the cost of GPU which is now £180py (another 3 full price games)

Do I still get value from my S and GP?? Definitely. But going forward those waters get muddier. Because across a generation now, most games that hit PSplus hit GPU and vice versa. So needing both subs will become less.

I don’t believe Sony being the single manufacturer is a good thing either.

I own ps5/Series S. do I play on the series S or do I hold out and play a better version on PS5? (Because obv ps5 more powerful)

Because it’s all about stats. Get the right slots for the right gear. So yeah I see my armour while equipping what I need. But when I’m in a hunt I don’t really pay attention to my outfit. It doesn’t affect movement in any way so need to.

After I’ve gone yeah that’s right for my load out, and several hundred hours later you just don’t notice it anymore.

@Frmknst most of the time you aren’t really focusing on your character. It’s on screen, it’s doing stuff, but you aren’t wholly focusing on what outfit it has on.

@WhiteRabbit obviously you see the armour but in the hundreds of hours I put into the games I can’t say I’m really looking at it. I’m watching the monster movement etc.

And I say this as someone Whoo uses female characters in pretty much any game that gives a choice as the models are usually better than male counterpart

Player numbers are up because GP works on both last gen and current gen. Player numbers means nothing. It doesn’t transfer to sales (as we can see)
