Re: Exclusivity Is the Achilles' Heel of Huge Blockbusters, Says Former PlayStation Exec

I own all 3 consoles, so don’t miss out on any. That’s the way it has to be and it’s still a relatively cheap hobby.

But honestly SM2 cost £300m, it’s sold 10m. At an average of probably £55 (if not higher) which is £550m. So it’s making money and it’s making good money. So I personally don’t think big AAA need to go multi plat. For any console.

What should go multi plat is live service and smaller titles. HD2 should have been for instance. Not because it will sell loads more, but as marketing, you show those Xbox players (who only have an Xbox) the quality of titles that you get through Sony, this in turn can bring in more to the ecosystem.

@Shepherd_Tallon it can be argued Sony are in a relatively strong position once all is sorted.

They are known for quality products. Games regularly get public and critical praise. Sony have ALOT of talent in their studios and usually during a slump people turn to what they know and trust. Luckily for Sony they have a lot of goodwill.

Whereas look at stuff from Ubisoft for example struggling for sales etc. and compare to helldivers

Push a little in AA/short games.

It would break up those big AAA releases, pad quiet times and bring in revenue to cover running costs.

The cinematic AAA stuff isn’t going anywhere. Hence the push into other forms of media involving them.

Unfortunately employees are an easy cost to cut. No matter what industry. More AI will probably be used also.

As it’s ’across The industry’ I don’t think Sony has to over worry, it just needs to stay strong and let the industry find its new happy medium.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Sales Apparently Top 10 Million

@Splat A lot.

MS believed they would be looking at £5million to add it to GP.

Using that figure.

That’s 100,000 copies at £50 to make that money.

Had it gone on GP you can imagine a couple of million of the 10 that bought it would play there.

So that would be at a guess £100million. So maybe £95million? Using conservative guesses.

Re: Mini Review: Pentiment (PS5) - A Slow-Burning 16th-Century Murder Mystery

@Amnesiac no no.

Everybody’s point is this has as a negative ‘may not be for everyone’ because it’s a slow burner.

Gt7 doesn’t have a negative saying ‘not for everyone’ because you may not like track sim.

Or GoW doesn’t say not for everyone because you may not like over the shoulder 3rd person.

It has happened on an Xbox release game.

If you are going to put it on one game you HAVE to apply the same standard to all reviews.
