If only they conducted the same poll as PushSquare before starting development on the game itself. Pretty brutal lack of interest and the player count mirrors it.
It might actually be the way to go, as live service is often design by committee anyway, to ask the actual players what they want in a game before making the next attempt to hit GaaS gold...
@Northern_munkey yeah, I was thinking Lowry or MacIntyre pre tournament, MacIntyre was a form pick, but Lowry, despite not quite having it this year for a full 4 days in a row, always seems to compete on the hardest of courses, shoots ridiculously low from time to time, and he's just a lot more creative with his shots than most on tour, plus I wanted to see him up there competing anyway.
Interested to see how Scheffler and Schauffele do today from the US side of things, as they seem the most capable of actually learning what to do over the course of the weekend, and are obviously the most consistent iron players. I'm still rather wary of them, but I want to see a European win it, and Lowry would be my preferred winner.
@Anke probably for the best 😆 great that it's enjoyable and engaging though. The odd RPG has had me casually playing and then realising it's 4am, before 😅 but I regret nothing
@Northern_munkey and topping it off by moaning about the course and things like the par 5's possibly taking them... 5 shots, or how the bunkers and rough are an actual penalty not like the lovely open sandy beaches and finely trimmed verges that they basically just aim for on the PGA tour as a low risk way of getting the ball as far as possible 😅
I really think they need to adjust the scores they aim for, becsuse it seems they just rock up thinking "I'll shoot 5 or 6 under because I'm great and can wallop it around the shop" and if it's a par 5 they assume it's going to be an automatic eagle chance without any thought to what the conditions dictate you should do on each hole. Absolutely zero course management, but it was very entertaining to see them all crumble 😅
It's looking like anyone with a half decent score is going to get the worst of the conditions today, so it will be interesting to see who tackles it best. Rumblings of the front and back 9 both being back into the wind for some as it switches later 😱
@MrMagic I mean, I guess because it's no longer a pre order, as it's been out since the 15th so maybe fell down that list.
It will be interesting to see the actual UK sales performance, as it surprised me that it was on there when I was browsing, tbh. I know it is incredibly popular in the States, almost a religion when you throw betting in to the mix 😅 which is something people don't seem to understand over here, maybe because it's "college sport" and in Europe that just doesn't translate. But I genuinely didn't think anyone in the UK would have a vested interest in any NCAA stuff, beyond very niche hard-core followers.
Review makes it sound very much like the first series of Altered Carbon in theme and concept. Good to see games that punch above their weight, and I definitely want to try this at some point in the cold rainy months
It all depends on what the devs are actually up to, doesn't it? They are going to need at least some games that meet the "better on ps5 pro" threshold and warrant its release. The real system seller is going to be GTA 6 anyway, which we know isn't coming this year.
If they do have some good solid improved games lined up that will help sell consoles then I could see them launching alongside astrobot, but they won't sell many if they don't have some way of making it look really worth it for the 'right now'
An improved spec Hogwarts, CoD (unlikely, surely?) Final Fantasy(s) maybe a GoW double upgrade, Horizon Remake (lol) stuff like that would help move some units, though.
@NEStalgia yeah, I think it's just a shell of a game and everything was slapped on later tbh 🤢 they are trying to go full PR save mode and lie to trick people into buying it, even though we have literally seen with our own eyes how the choices you make in game do absolutely nothing at all, and the characters are all stinky garbage 😭
I seem to remember the dialogue from the gameplay reveal being absolutely excruciating, so not sure how strong the characters are going to be if they just make dumb statements upon dumb statements over and over again. BG3 it will not be. It seemed more like an action movie with a bit of magic and purple lighting slapped on in the edit.
Some parts look really good and yet some parts look as bad as that walking dead game 💀 (okay, maybe not that bad) but that explosion is super jank 😭😅 and the ship looks like it's made of plastic or plasticine
The thing I can't put my finger on is why it looks like Kay Vess isn't really there, though, it just looks like the world is there and she's been pasted on, somehow. Something to do with character outlines, lighting and shadows, maybe.
This might be the year that I just don't bother with it. I really hope it is, too. Too many other games I want to play to be wasting any time on this sh** and I only play one game mode anyway 😭
But, as others have said. We say these things every year and keep buying it 💀
@ATaco it's some random digital artist error, not ubisoft as a corporation (they've made much bigger and many more real world errors that warrant articles rather than this low grade woopsie)
I imagine they won't be hiring the artist again as they clearly just Googled and half arsed it like an AI would, however 😅
I will finish Jusant this weekend, very chill and just a lovely change of pace for me.
And maybe play/finish off AC Mirage if I get time and the urge to do so.
Then I can get back to Starfield next week, which i've decided to play a "chapter" at a time with other games to break it up a bit, a chapter being a faction or planet based quest chain, as I'm not pushing further into the main quest, as such.
@Amnesiac yeah, that was one of the most pleasing aspects tbh. Everyone respects him so much, and they'd be far worse without his leadership and dad energy keeping everyone honest 😁 and he's had a Hall of Fame career regardless, but it's the best "thank you" he could have got from the team, for them to finally focus on getting it done, and to still have him playing a big part through the season on and off the court at that age is fantastic. He probably played as many minutes as last year anyway, despite moving to the bench.
Of course it would be dumb for Sony to add them day one, unless they charge £35/40 per month or something outrageous.
But, at least you can still stack on Xbox, I guess, and continue to get ridiculous value that MS (ownership) clearly hate and definitely want to phase out ASAP without alienating every single player, which is almost impossible, as like others have said, they painted themselves into a corner with the strategy from... day one
@RudeAnimat0r it needs a drastic rethink structurally, though. RGG are lazy af with their game design. Inject the same humour, drama and charm into something that feels like it's from this decade and they could increase their popularity massively. I don't want to sound mean, either. I just want them to spend a little time making a game that advances what they do so the the world can appreciate an IP that should be much more popular.
Maybe it's not necessarily make a massive open world, but make the city into a real functioning city that isn't just so obviously a game area that it doesn't really engage in the way it should.
An actual open world game instead of the incredibly annoying and repetitive Kamurochō? 😱😱😱 I even got attacked by the same generic gang members whilst typing this comment 🫨
Dragons Dogma 2, for sure. It was endless fun exploration and the dynamic emergent gameplay was insane. But I'm left feeling like it isn't properly game of the year worthy for some reason (probably because Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring absolutely blew me away to generational levels in previous years and left my expectations much higher) I'm really hoping something else I play this year tops it, and especially hoping that KCDII breaks into the mainstream this year 😁
I'm guessing the team that they sent to investigate PS Stars got lost deep inside the SIE servers, until now when they have finally found a way to escape, but in doing so have severed an important connection that has brought the rest of PSN down.
But at least those guys have begun the unshrinking process and can resume a somewhat normal existence with the help of some counselling and support from those close to them.
Now it's up to SIE Team 2 to shrink down and go and fix both issues in their place. Don't make the same mistake, we are all pulling for you
@GamingFan4Lyf taking their parents paycheck* And therein lies the answer. Kids are stupid with money so like to dress up their characters in games that they play a lot, just to be 'unique'.

@kailun I mean, Larian literally told everyone it was because of the series S. Watching professional golfers not understand how to play golf in Scotland, the home of golf. The Open can be quite hilarious at times.
As for gaming, maybe a little Star Wars: Jedi Survivor or Starfield, maybe even FC24, I'll see where the winds take me.

@Anke little stat: That is literally 50% of all available time in those 9 days. So 4.5 days solid 😱 impressive 😁 edit: argh, beaten to it
