Re: Talking Point: What Are Your PS5 Predictions for Summer Game Fest 2024?

Ravix

Dream:

PS use SGF to do one really big announcement to f*** with everyone and "win" the night.

Mafia 4 Sin City/Las Vegas. And get it out before GTA.

007 would be nice, or any other proper spy thrillers that have been really lacking from consoles for years.

I'm not realistically expecting anything at all other than seeing some KCD release date promo, so any surprises would be surprising

Re: Summer Game Fest Will Focus on Existing Games, Not Massive Announcements

Ravix

Star Wars: Outlaws, Black Myth: Wukong, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Kingdom Come: Bloody Deliverance II That is plenty to get me back into loving gaming, so anything on top of seeing a bit more hype for those is gravy.

I hope it can draw more eyes to Henry and his journey, and be the start of a game of the year campaign for Warhorse 🙏😁

Re: Xbox Series S Specs Limit the Scope of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Ravix

I think they are either a little pi$$ed off and bitter they bothered with it and are just venting their frustrations, realising their sales on Xbox won't be great anyway. Or it's a misquote...

KCD was pretty big though, so not really worried about anything. And that was always a game made with PC in mind. They actually made the last game so it would run in Ultra settings but only on PC's of the future, and pushed it to its absolute limits. Technically, they push their games to insane levels.

Re: Astro Bot Is the 'Biggest' Game Team ASOBI Has Ever Made

Ravix

@Pusher2021 80 levels, 10 minutes for each new experience, they are potentially saying in a coded way it's a 12-15 hour game. Of course there will be lots of scope to revisit levels and collect things and find secrets, I imagine, so it could well be that 20-30 hours experience 👌

Re: Latest State of Play Is One of the Worst-Received PS5 Shows Yet

Ravix

I think if you're showing third party stuff that's scheduled for 2025, maybe just mention one or two of your studios are also still making games for 2025/26. Even if it's just a 5 second teaser with no title, it feels like the consumers are owed a little something to excite them. People like teases, it engages the community in a positive way, rather than the negative way they are getting now 😅

Re: PS5 Players Are Buying Fewer New Games, But Spending More Than Ever Overall

Ravix

@Blofse that was my first thought. I think Sony are actually missing out on making a whole lot more money from pure game sales.

A game has to be something I know I'll be committed to if it's a digital version at 60/70. So a series I like, or a genre I really like with good reviews. But I know I'd spend much more on games I'm not quite as sure about if they were 40/50. I'd maybe triple my game purchases and live with any regrets if I don't stick with those games.

And as an added perk to increase sales: launch hype is wayyyy more likely to make me buy a game than a later sale. So a ÂĢ40/50 game in a sale is still less attractive than an actual launch title, and these games i'm less bothered about get relegated to the wishlist for much longer, even during sales, if there's no hype behind getting them at that moment.

Re: Talking Point: State of Play May 2024 Predictions - What's Next for PS5?

Ravix

@JuiceboxMeister a new infamous would actually be pretty cool on the newer gen of console. I feel like a hard reset and reworking of the franchise for a new generation would work, as well. Rather than a remake or continuation of the stories they have already told.

Sony own some nice IP's that have potential for the future, and the superhero/antihero/strange new powers themes without the limitations of a Marvel should be utilised. Especially now that TV and Film adaptions aren't sh*** (they were apparently making an infamous film at some point too?)

Re: Talking Point: State of Play May 2024 Predictions - What's Next for PS5?

Ravix

It's going to be Astro Bot crazy. I feel like they want to have it take over from the sackboy games as the go to PS Platformer pf the future, and also be realised as the full on PlayStation mascot for generations to come.

There's already astro bot themed community challenges to get people playing the original PS5 game. Marketing laden with astrobot. And I'd not be surprised if there's someone in an astrobot suit during the show 😁

As for the other stuff, just hint or let us know what some studios are working on and that would be fine. It doesn't have to be a full on trailer, just let us know something to ease everyone's minds that there is a plan going forward that isn't just the remnants of the GaaS push.

They owe people at least one surprise, as the leaks were pretty boring stuff

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 530

Ravix

AC Mirage, probably. But I saw a video of some unbelievably amazing parkour in AC Unity, and it made me wonder why they don't make it like that anymore 👀

so I might give that a try, as it looks way more freeform and I want to experience that for myself to see what it was like.

Re: Rumour: Full Astro Bot PS5 Game to Be Announced Very Soon

Ravix

The more showcase news there is, the more I just want PS to have a massive segment at summer game fest instead, steal the show there and mic drop out with Mark Cerny at the end. Then release each individual trailer or presentation on the PS YouTube right after

Re: The Next Naughty Dog Game Its 'Most Thrilling Yet', Says Neil Druckmann

Ravix

I'm hoping for some kind of period crime or spy thriller in typical naughty dog cinematic and emotive manner, with some huge mainstream crossover potential for tv or cinema projects. In a way the genre doesn't matter too much, as long as it really pushes what is possible narratively and with genuine characters you care about.

Re: When Is Summer Game Fest Live Showcase 2024?

Ravix

Be funny if PlayStation just has a big segment at summer gamefest where they announce some new games, then show gameplay and reveal release dates for all of their upcoming games, and don't even have a seperate showcase 😁😁

Re: Bombshell Report Finds Players Becoming Less Interested in Deep Strategy Games

Ravix

@LifeGirl hmm 😭 it is noticable isnt it? Everything is so extreme and theres an uptick in pure quantity pver quality. Well, I have faith that as Sammy knows what makes for a good article that eventually it will get back on track.

Buzzwords and extreme nonsense in articles are just so cliche. And hopefully the editor hasn't lost all power to have writers stamp some genuine character into PushSquares output rather than submit to more trashy output.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Set to Be a Huge Step Up in Storytelling

Ravix

@DogPark aim down the natural line of sight between the bow and your hand (experiment at the range to find the right spot) Once it clicks you will be fine (plus, the more you train the better Henry will be at hitting what you want to hit anyway)

Once you start to understand which parts of the game are more like reality than other games, and which aren't, you will get the whole experience as intended 😁😁😁

Re: Leaker Claims Black Myth: Wukong Features 160 Enemy Types, 80 Bosses

Ravix

Considering Elden Ring broke other games with combat for me, this intrigues me. Post Elden Ring, all games with bosses have to step up or be stale.

Still very sceptical of how this game's release will go and what it will actually be like to play, but if it has a billion bosses and no tedious runbacks it is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Reveal Trailer Is Already the Most Disliked in Series History

Ravix

@Jaz007 but you're just assuming he is supposed to be a super shadowy assassin so you can still moan about it? The trailer clearly shows one stealthy assassin and one tanky warrior and you get to choose which you use throughout.

It is the ultimate amalgamation of the modern AC's, warrior combat gameplay where you fight everyone and stealth gameplay where you assassinate people, but with a seperate character for each so you can mix it up.

So doesn't that now make sense gameplay wise, rendering your argument void? ðŸĪŠ

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Still Looks Bananas in New Trailer, Out 20th August on PS5

Ravix

@PsBoxSwitchOwner investigate as in find out why you can't buy the game or why there is no mention of it in the ps store. Not like a panorama investigation to find some kind of wrong doing 😅

Like I said, it just strikes me as weird I can't even wishlist the game on PS. Does that not strike you as slightly weird when it is due out in a few months?

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Still Looks Bananas in New Trailer, Out 20th August on PS5

Ravix

@Specky I think these gaming journalists should investigate why there is no pre orders, or page mentioning the game in the store tbh. Pragmata even has a placeholder and that has clearly been in development hell for years. There is a slight mention that the game is probably on steam in the steam store, and that is about it.

As soon as AC Shadows was named and shown, bam! pre orders go live.

I don't know if any other game that has been due out in a few months ever used this... "tactic"?

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Dated for 15th November in First Trailer

Ravix

@Korgon but, but, but, my immersion!!! Or some s*** 😭😭😭😭

I'm kind of bummed the latest ones are nowhere near as bat s*** crazy with their historical fiction now haha. Of course, there's still ancient aliens possessing people as their norse god personas or whatever, but that's with the made up characters.

I also think seeing a culture from another's perspective actually enhances the world it is portraying too. They will get to explore the differences and similarities and experience things as an outsider being welcomed in to new surroundings. And tbh I'd much rather play as a stranger in a strange land rather than just any old random person who just happens to be local. So many more possibilities.

The fact that we get to be a Samurai like no other should excite people, and we can still be a Ninja for the assassin stuff too. Seems like the exact right balance for what people have wanted from an AC game all round.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows the Actual Name of AC Red, Reveal This Week

Ravix

@NinjaNicky I think the problem with "Robin Hood" is that it is not an actual historical figure more a combination of folklore, ballads and consequently a name given to outlaws, or used as an alias by outlaws. So there is no way the AC team could base a game around it. But they have referenced the characters in games, I believe (unless I imagined it haha)

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows the Actual Name of AC Red, Reveal This Week

Ravix

I'm very much ready for this. The gameplay loop is usually casual but pleasing, the story is pretty much so, so with the mad tangents and less focus on crafting something really memorable in the time it is mostly set. But the best thing is always the main character, the main character being: the historical setting. That is what they put the most effort into, and thankfully it's an aspect I enjoy myself.

If they ever add some top quality writing with the same effort to all of that history then we will get something truly special. Will they?Probably not. But I still expect it to be a game I thoroughly enjoy 😁

Re: Capcom Now Considers Dragon's Dogma a 'Key Brand' Following Substantial Sales

Ravix

@Matroska it is a genuinely amazing social study to see that people still believe these random bits of misinformation about DD2 that was just used to hate on something for views.

And some people genuinely believe they designed the actual game the way the did to force microtransations, despite it being nearly exactly the same game design and features as the 2012 release 😅 and basically one person's vision of how a game should be
