I read tons of articles a day ranging from gaming to politics, to even that of learning new things. All from sites globally and not just catered to an American. @Matroska no one has used scheme for something positive here, sorry to say. Yes, you're correct when it comes to art, of how there's a different definition for scheme. But this is not an art site and I wouldn't second guess the method of use of the word with how it's used for PS Stars. But thanks for the added comment for comparison.

@Ravix yes, words can and do have multiple meanings. However, from a cultural standpoint, using context clues would not have helped me deem the word "scheme" as something positive. "Pyramid scheme". "How to scheme the system". Scheme has been used in the societal culture I grew up and live in as a term of someone or an entity doing something sneakily and negatively to benefit themselves subtly. So the context you're mentioning of "loyal" is highly overlooked when combined with a stronger negative term next to it.

@Quintumply @InsaneWade "British" definition. Lol ok. Much different than the American definition. I always wondered why it was always in articles and the subheaders. But very confusing, especially with a large base of Americans being regulars on the site.

@Quintumply I think it's time for the @PushSquare team and you to now stop calling it a loyalty scheme. We make purchases on PlayStation and this is basically a way to receive a sort of benefit for using our PlayStations. When I buy a game or renew PS+, I receive points towards a PS gift card(the only thing I use with my points) that I can use towards my next game purchase or even to save money off a PS+ subscription. Hell, it can even be used to purchase a game that's been discounted.

Joining friends' games easily is a huge feature. It's very cumbersome and time-consuming closing out the game you're in just to try and jin your friend's lobby. At times, the invite feature doesn't even work properly.

This is the first time I've heard of a game keeping a beta behind a pre-order. Usually, the beta or demo allows a person to play to determine if they want to buy the game. This seems like a ploy to get more sales during release.

I recall a poll PS did a little bit ago fo predicting when a new PS5 version would release. I mentioned late next yer to early 2025 while majority of people thought this year. It makes the most sense to not release an updated PS5 version because Sony is just now having enough consoles on shelves to keep up with demand. They would hurt themselves if they released it this year.

I already had pre-ordered but I went straight to the bottom to see the score and pros & cons. I see that I'm going to love the game. I read the review maybe after this weekend after I've gotten several hours of gaming in.

I wish this was on PS Plus Extra. I remember this being my first game on PSP.

@Czar_Khastik don't forget PS8 and PS9. If GTA V lasted through 3 generations of consoles, then I'm sure as hell GTA 6 will be able to do almost double with current technology.

I just hope it's grander than GTA V to prevent repetitiveness.

I agree with Sony's standpoint on this. I don't understand the business model of this for-profit at all. Microsoft is a trillion-dollar company so they can afford to do something as ridiculous as this to remain competitive.

I have no interest in sports games, especially not baseball games, but I love that Sony is doing this. This well thought of and will bring attention to Sony and the game for non-gamers too.

I went into this just expecting to get through the core mechanics of the gameplay. But the story has a very strong start. I love game mechanics and play mostly single-player games. With just the first 2 hours within the demo, I can see this story being one of 2023's strongest for gaming.

This will be my first entry into the Final Fantasy series where I have an interest in completing the story

@Uncharted2007 the core og GTA now in my opinion, is GTA online. Yea, the story is cool, but the vast amount of what you can do in GTA Online no other game developer has done and no other game does. I'll be excited to get the game upon release. Also, during down periods when one isn't playing any games after finishing them or just wanting a fun & chill game experience without much effort, GTA online is perfect for that.

I'm already intrigued about AC: Mirage, but besides that, I have no interest in any other Ubisoft game. It's time for them to create new IP, because the current series are barely holding Ubisoft afloat.

@klarkkent exactly! I won't be getting this 1st gen device but maybe 2nd or 3rd gen. I saw a 20-minute review of it from MKBHD, which made me actually interested, and he did a MUCH better job at sharing the features and specs than Apple did and they covered the device for longer than that.

@thefourfoldroot1 there were games shown. But upon launch, you can only play Apple Arcade games.

I don't see the point of pre-ordering anymore when we can just download the day of unless you want the special items that comes along with pre-orders.

My friend pointed it out to me in the theater but I still haven't finished Spider-Man 1 so I thought it was from that but had no idea it's from the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game.

Netflix said a couple of years ago they wanted to get into gaming. So they're finally picking up speed with this. They need a second stream of income, so gaming makes the most sense.

But I think this is an ok month for PS5. These 3 releases are on somewhat different spectrums, but not all people are interested in the 3. I'm sure records will be broken but I've barely seen promotion for Diablo 4 and Street Fighter I think isn't as popular as it used to be. Even with it receiving great reviews.

@get2sammyb even after the explanation, I still don't understand how it's a loser of the showcase. It's about gaming. I'm sure they will clean it up, but Phantom blade 0 was/is one of the best game of this year's game reveals for new IP.

@S1ayeR74 So personal hotspot works the same as wifi but uses another cell phone's data. I live in the US and my plan goes only up to a certain limit of hotspot data without any additional charges. I have only ran out of my hotspot data when traveling abroad. But after that, for faster speeds, you do have to pay more

This is the standout game during the showcase for me. Even compared to Spider-Man 2's gameplay. Looking forward to playing this.

I'm looking forward to more info about this game. I wasn't expecting this type of game to be a major highlight for me for the showcase.

I use the train to get around my city. I would use my hotspot on my phone for this. But I can see this using up so much of my hotspot data.

I'll get it depending on the price point.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner dude, we've seen plenty of FFXVI footage, the MGS games are remastered, and the Spidery 2 gameplay was cool, but not enough to make someone excited about having a PlayStation. We are about 2 years away from being 5 years into new-gen and there's nothing much to show of it for PS5 exclusivity or excitement.

Terrible showcase.They showed an array of games along a spectrum, but I assumed we would do at least 1 new IP announcement that would get me hyped about having my PS5. Spider-Man 2 wasn't enough for me. Many games showed were only CGI trailers. This doesn't show the forefront of the excitement of games on PS5.

I'm keeping my eye out for Phantom Blade 0 and Neva, but this showcase was very lackluster in terms of content.

I'm glad they aren't doing DLC. Not every game needs it. God of War & Ragnarok broke records without DLC. Spider-Man games beyond the costumes. DLC I feel should be more for online and multiplayer games, not single-player games.

Is this exclusive to PS Plus Premium members only?

This isn't a bad price at all compared to other game collectibles that have been in the hundreds at a minimum for less quality and smaller products.

I have no interest in a LoTR game because I feel there are many other MMOs that have a similar story or theme that are well done. I don't think the game will do well based just on name alone.

He didn't necessarily say anything about if, or when. All he said was "probably will". This is just as reliable as all of the rumors that have been going on for months now.

No matter how popular or record-breaking Nintendo games are, I am not getting a Switch just to play a handful of games. Many Nintendo games besides Zelda, are supposed to be multiplayer. I'll pass.

Astro's Playroom and Ratchet & Clank are NOT getting anime shows. I don't know what those who are speculating think anime is but it's not that kind of theme or adaptation.

Sony and Nintendo are outpacing Xbox because of the current and past gen gaming titles. Nintendo continues succeeding in gaming because of its established great and well-known games.

@rjejr The US supports it due to numerous politicians stating that they dislike the fact that Sony is benefiting from the past 2 generations of consoles. But each of them has a direct connection or a connection to someone else with a connection who benefits from donations from Microsoft.
