Re: Older Live Service Titles Take Up Over 60% of Overall Playtime, Report Says

SillyBoyJudas

@thefourfoldroot1 this is a pretty negative take but I understand your view. Profit-wise, you are forgetting about microtransactions, season passes, & memberships to live-service games. The publishers make more from live-service games than those who make a single-player game.

I only see it as a negative for the industry because fewer new IP will be released annually. But if I am enjoying my live-service game, I don't have an issue with this as long as the new content is good.

Re: Devs Allegedly Pondering the Point of Sony's PS5 Pro Upgrade

SillyBoyJudas

I truly don't see the point of a PS5 Pro at this moment. I think another 3-5 years once the PS5 tech is finally pushed to its limit. With the capabilities of the PS5 having never even been elevated to where it could be if it got the attention from Sony solely relying on the PS4 base, I would agree with the pro release. However, I don't see a point. Technology lasts longer due to fast advancements, and PS5 is no different. I hope Sony delays the PS5 pro release even further back.

Re: Reaction: PS5's Success Is Not Luck, Because Sony's Spent Years Putting in the Hard Yards

SillyBoyJudas

I've had every PlayStation console and handheld. The PS2 was very popular when I was a kid but my family could only afford a PS1. I started from there, then got a PS2 when the PS3 launched. I had a PSP. Then I finally bought myself a PS3 Slim when it came out because I finally had a job. I grew up on PlayStation and they always have a great selection of games that contain strong stories. I had an Xbox gifted to me, but I play my PS2 way more. Sony has earned these results.

Re: Feature: Celebrating 10 Years of PS4 with Our Favourite Games

SillyBoyJudas

Resogun is such a fantastic game. Yes, it's straightforward, but it's one of the toughest games to Platinum and I had so much fun aiming for it. It started out small, but it was such a success that the developers expanded the game with new additions. I'm so glad it made it within one of the defining PS4 games.

Re: Best Batman Games

SillyBoyJudas

I added in my ratings and realized that I have played more Batman games than any other superhero games. Batman's Telltale series are underrated and Arkham Asylum deserves to be higher than Arkham City.

Re: UK Sales Charts: PS5 Slingshots GTA 5 to Number Two

SillyBoyJudas

@Mauzuri the game continues to sale specifically for GTA Online. There are weekly updates and get at least new "big updates" to content at least 3x a year. I got GTA 5 as a gift and have gotten maybe hundreds of hours in and I have barely touched the surface of the possibilities.

GTA Online is a combination of every game genre excluding. This is coming from a person who is more into RPGs, fantasy, and adventure games.

Also remember, the "average" gamers aren't on sites like this reading up on gaming new and tend to only play GTA or a sports game. For a game to be this strong for over a decade and for 3 console generations is nothing easy and means there's something bringing back gamers.

Re: PS Stars May Finally Be Integrated into PS5 Soon

SillyBoyJudas

@Ravix Dude, I even thanked you for the explanation and you're choosing to keep continuing your rant. You're totally only seeing it one-sided even though I accepted I was wrong.

Also, for you to state you "love language" means you, once again, aren't seeing it from my perspective regardless. I read tons of articles a day ranging from gaming to politics, to even that of learning new things. All from sites globally and not just catered to an American. Yet, I have never had a challenge with confusing meanings, especially of the context clues hint at a different meaning. No.

Also, you're wrong, wicked is still used both with a positive and negative connotation here. That's common.

Re: PS Stars May Finally Be Integrated into PS5 Soon

SillyBoyJudas

@Matroska no one has used scheme for something positive here, sorry to say. Yes, you're correct when it comes to art, of how there's a different definition for scheme. But this is not an art site and I wouldn't second guess the method of use of the word with how it's used for PS Stars. But thanks for the added comment for comparison.

@Ravix but at least now I know that PS uses this word in a different method than I believed. So thanks for that.

Re: PS Stars May Finally Be Integrated into PS5 Soon

SillyBoyJudas

@Ravix yes, words can and do have multiple meanings. However, from a cultural standpoint, using context clues would not have helped me deem the word "scheme" as something positive. "Pyramid scheme". "How to scheme the system". Scheme has been used in the societal culture I grew up and live in as a term of someone or an entity doing something sneakily and negatively to benefit themselves subtly. So the context you're mentioning of "loyal" is highly overlooked when combined with a stronger negative term next to it.

Re: PS Stars May Finally Be Integrated into PS5 Soon

SillyBoyJudas

@Quintumply @InsaneWade "British" definition. Lol ok. Much different than the American definition. I always wondered why it was always in articles and the subheaders. But very confusing, especially with a large base of Americans being regulars on the site.

Re: PS Stars May Finally Be Integrated into PS5 Soon

SillyBoyJudas

@Quintumply I think it's time for the @PushSquare team and you to now stop calling it a loyalty scheme. We make purchases on PlayStation and this is basically a way to receive a sort of benefit for using our PlayStations. When I buy a game or renew PS+, I receive points towards a PS gift card(the only thing I use with my points) that I can use towards my next game purchase or even to save money off a PS+ subscription. Hell, it can even be used to purchase a game that's been discounted.

What's the deal with y'all negativity towards it?
