Re: Game of the Year: #9 - Helldivers 2

SillyBoyJudas

I'm glad Helldivers made it to the top 10 but think it deserves to be in the top 5. The action-oriented fun of the game revived in me how fun games can be without a serious tone or being hard on yourself because you can't get pass a certain part.

Re: The Game Awards Is Now Allegedly Bigger Than the Super Bowl

SillyBoyJudas

@LavenderShroud it's an awards show. Games receiving awards are the same as movies, music, and TV show awards. We consume entertainment in different ways. Awards cause a boost to attention to the specific form of media, developers can get more money for future games, and create hype for the next game. We will still be talking about gaming awards from TGA or the next gaming event at least 2 or 3 weeks later. This is nothing new. For gaming and any other entertainment award event.

Re: Mark Cerny Basically Confirms PS6 Partnership with AMD in PS5 Pro Tech Deep Dive Video

SillyBoyJudas

Why is Mark Cerny and Sony mentioning references to PS6?! PS5 only recently has become readily available with stock within the past year at minimum. PS5 only has a handful of games that you can't get on PS4 and the only immediate one I can think of is Helldivers 2.

PS6 needs to be at least teased in 2027. We are entering in 2025 without games still releasing on both PS4 and PS5.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for December 2024?

SillyBoyJudas

@AhmadSumadi day 1 releases are not a smart way to go whether it can keep subscriber numbers or not. I also don't think it's smart for studios to do this. Many of us can't play day 1 releases also when a game is later added to PS+ it's an opportunity for us to dive in and get our subscription worth.

For instance, I was interested in Forspoken but after the first reviews, I decided to not even waste money and give it a go.

Witcher 3 is on PS+ and I have never had an interest in it until seeing The Witcher 4 trailer. So now I don't have to spend money, even on the discounted complete edition rate and get my PS+ Extra worth by playing the game and deciding 50+ gaming hours later if I want to play the DLC for $10-$20.

Re: Video: The Biggest PlayStation Surprises of 2024

SillyBoyJudas

@Aaron Bayne, I'm gonna push back and say after The Game Awards announcement for the new faction in Hell Divers 2, they also released new content the same night. The amount of players who have been playing since then has skyrocketed to high numbers. A second wind has hit the servers.

Re: All The Game Awards 2024 Winners

SillyBoyJudas

As a person who has yet to play Astro Bot, did it really deserve GOTY over the others? I haven't played an Astro game since the PS4 early days when they had the bots to explore the abilities of the DS4.

Helldivers 2 I am glad took home their awards. The game beat out even Fortnite for best ongoing game and I didn't expect that to happen.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2024?

SillyBoyJudas

This year's award show has been better than any of the previous game awards in my opinion. Usually, there aren't more than one or two games I'm interested in but I'm looking forward to many that were shown. I've never had an interest in playing The Witcher 3 but now I am gonna play it before Witcher 4 comes out. I am excited about Naughty Dog's new IP. FINALLY they are making something new and it is far off from their usual creations.

Re: Older Live Service Titles Take Up Over 60% of Overall Playtime, Report Says

SillyBoyJudas

@thefourfoldroot1 this is a pretty negative take but I understand your view. Profit-wise, you are forgetting about microtransactions, season passes, & memberships to live-service games. The publishers make more from live-service games than those who make a single-player game.

I only see it as a negative for the industry because fewer new IP will be released annually. But if I am enjoying my live-service game, I don't have an issue with this as long as the new content is good.

Re: Devs Allegedly Pondering the Point of Sony's PS5 Pro Upgrade

SillyBoyJudas

I truly don't see the point of a PS5 Pro at this moment. I think another 3-5 years once the PS5 tech is finally pushed to its limit. With the capabilities of the PS5 having never even been elevated to where it could be if it got the attention from Sony solely relying on the PS4 base, I would agree with the pro release. However, I don't see a point. Technology lasts longer due to fast advancements, and PS5 is no different. I hope Sony delays the PS5 pro release even further back.

Re: Reaction: PS5's Success Is Not Luck, Because Sony's Spent Years Putting in the Hard Yards

SillyBoyJudas

I've had every PlayStation console and handheld. The PS2 was very popular when I was a kid but my family could only afford a PS1. I started from there, then got a PS2 when the PS3 launched. I had a PSP. Then I finally bought myself a PS3 Slim when it came out because I finally had a job. I grew up on PlayStation and they always have a great selection of games that contain strong stories. I had an Xbox gifted to me, but I play my PS2 way more. Sony has earned these results.

Re: Feature: Celebrating 10 Years of PS4 with Our Favourite Games

SillyBoyJudas

Resogun is such a fantastic game. Yes, it's straightforward, but it's one of the toughest games to Platinum and I had so much fun aiming for it. It started out small, but it was such a success that the developers expanded the game with new additions. I'm so glad it made it within one of the defining PS4 games.

Re: Best Batman Games

SillyBoyJudas

I added in my ratings and realized that I have played more Batman games than any other superhero games. Batman's Telltale series are underrated and Arkham Asylum deserves to be higher than Arkham City.
