Re: Phwoar! Here's a View of the PS5's Rear

TooBarFoo

Do we know how fast the rear USB ports are. If they are 3.2 10 GB/s one port will out gun everything on the PS4. At full speed moving games from USB storage to main storage will be a snap. I'm hoping to plug both next gen consoles into my NAS via USB. It will open up 30TB of storage. Think I'll be good for a long time with that!

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for October 2020?

TooBarFoo

If you haven't played Vampyr, its worth giving it a try. I enjoyed it. Its a decent AA game that offers something different. I don't have PS+, Only play Sony games on PS these days, But games like this always seemed a good fit for PS+ to me. Offering games everyone already has made little sense to me.

Re: Spider-Man PS5 vs PS4 Comparison Shows Off a Generational Leap

TooBarFoo

PS5 has new lighting and ray traced reflections, I'm still not of the mind this is a remaster. On PC this would just be tick boxes and sliders in the graphics menu. I had really hoped this gen would do way with reselling the same game with a different set of graphics opinions enabled. Hopefully MS will be more competitive this gen to push competition and encourage both companies to be more consumer friendly

Re: PS5 Pre-Orders from Some Retailers May Not Be Fulfilled Until 2021

TooBarFoo

I cancelled my Amazon pre-order yesterday. I'd had my finger hovering over the cancel button for a few days. I just don't need both a Xbox and ps5 in November when all I'm going to be playing is Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. Only reason I'm keeping the Xbox order is gamepass but neither have much worth playing out of the gate. All things considered, I'd like to get a chance to see what it is that I'm buying. My next gen hype is somewhat diminished at this point with us yet to see the PS5 outside of press shots

Re: EA Causes Outrage by Advertising FIFA Microtransactions to Kids

TooBarFoo

@thedevilsjester They are very different, No game of chance / gambling in Fortnite. And as its a free game I'm OK with it having a few MT. Mostly you just buy the battle pass, and you earn enough each season to buy the next. I've probably spent £25 /£30 for each of them but they have 500 + hours in the game. That's good value. That will last you 5 minutes in FIFA and you'll end up with nothing.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

TooBarFoo

@get2sammyb I'm 100% behind you on this. Sony have gone from 10/10 on messaging for the last few years to below average over the last 12 months. Change in management maybe?

We have still to see the console in any real world setting. Outside of virtual mockups based on USB or disk size we only have press shots and a single set of photos set against a ruler.

Sony clearly carries a substantial leed from this generation into the next but it's clear they are starting to chip away at little of that good will with their own actions.

Re: Rapper Travis Scott Has a PS5

TooBarFoo

@SoulChimera I don't like it. I look at steam and how many hours I've played No Man's Sky (nearly 700!) and think to myself "Get a life" innocence is bliss sometimes. 😂

Re: Rapper Travis Scott Has a PS5

TooBarFoo

@Weebleman Well put, It just feels off. But I'm sure in truth all is well. I just want to see it in tech reviewers hands. Without doubt I'll get a PS5 but I'm just starting to question the when not the if.

Re: Rapper Travis Scott Has a PS5

TooBarFoo

To be honest my finger is hovering over the cancel button for my pre order. I want to see just how big this thing is. I have a day 1 PS2, PS3, PS4 (broken) and PS4 Pro. but I also have a Series X preorder and I'm very tempted to wait until the PS5 gets a size shrink and black paint job.

Edit: reading though the comments I'm seeing a lot of folks who have been long time PS players with long histories of sharing their excitement about all things Playstation on this site getting frustrated with how Sony is handling this launch. It's not a good look Sony. I wonder how much the changes at the top of PlayStation are responsible. How can they go from getting everything spot on 12 months ago to this messaging stumble after stumble!

Re: See the PS5 in Your Own Home with Augmented Reality Model

TooBarFoo

I'm wondering about cancelling my pre-order until I can see it. I have a spot on wall I was going to hang it but between the design, the size and the £70 games I'm thinking I may just wait. A black one will disappear better into the background and I should be old enough to have outgrown the need to by every new piece of tech day 1.

One good thing should be its ability to run quite with the cooling you can it into it.

Re: The Elder Scrolls Online PS4 Support Unaffected by Microsoft Acquisition

TooBarFoo

The profit in game pass will not come by putting up the price, It will come by signing up more people. The monthly price makes no difference, It's the monthly price X the number of subs.

And I can see the "case by case" being "Hey Sony, put release HZD and Spiderman and Xbox and we'll release Starfield on PS5" I think in reality, they won't pull what is already there and Sony paid for Deathloop and Tokyo Ghost already but I don't think we'll see any more Zenimax games on Playstation.

What I

Re: Sony Confirms PS5 Games Will Cost More

TooBarFoo

@leucocyte For a new PS player a 3 months PS+ to play the PS collection is great value, a great selection of games, all sitting on my shelf. I'm unsure how the service game model will play out into the future but I'm open minded about the change if they improve

Re: Sony Confirms PS5 Games Will Cost More

TooBarFoo

Wohhh, I guess they need to make up for that hit they have to take on the hardware price somewhere but there goes any thought of going digital. I wonder if they are going to up the disk price for third parties in a similar way?

This also makes game pass look like even better value!

Re: PS5 Price, Release Date Confirmed: 12th November in US, 19th in EU, $499 Standard, $399 Digital

TooBarFoo

Did everything I wanted, showed games, matched price. But I'm still a little hesitant. My day one PS4 died after 2 years and my day one PS pro sounds like a rocket ship. I'm thinking I'm going to wait out the first couple of batches this time and let production to settle down before jumping. Nothing I need to play at launch. Cyberpunk 2077 will keep me covered me for 2 or 3 months.

Re: When Is the PS5 Showcase Event?

TooBarFoo

Just show us the Black version, Focus on games and give us price/date and all will be well. Ohh and just one more thing, confirm support for Dolby Vision/Atmos if could be so nice please

Re: PS5 Showcase Event Confirmed for This Wednesday

TooBarFoo

Why they have to show the PS5 looking all black like that, it's just rubbing it in. Anyhow, day one for me again. I have a space on my wall sorted and I'll be getting one of those floating wall brackets so I don't have to care how big it is or how ugly it looks! I'm looking forward to replaying some of the PS4 greats without needing headphones.

Re: PS5 Too Big? Save Space Under Your TV with PS5 Wall Mount

TooBarFoo

When I first saw the PS5 I moaned and moaned about how hot it will be and how loud it will be. Then we got an idea of the size of the thing.. So we know how they are going to keep it cool and quite. And now I moan and moan about how big and ugly it is. My life is full of first world problems...

Re: UK Retail Software Sales Are Skewing Heavily Towards PS4

TooBarFoo

3rd party is where console make their money. I've shifted to Xbox for the last 18 months or so with my pro being so loud and the One X offering best performance. I think it must be a bit of concern to Sony that the xbox will be more powerful 3rd party machine out of the gate. they need to get the first party content rolling quickly so the majority who will only have a single console swing to Sony second halve of next year when the more casual players start to move in big numbers

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Will Have Microtransactions, Says Developer

TooBarFoo

They also stated some time ago the multiplay will be free. Not free DLC to main game owners but free, 100% supported by MTX. Given CDPRs history I expect they will set a new benchmark in how to do this, following on from some great examples set buy the likes of WarFrame.

The main game will have a load of small free DCL releases as did the Witcher 3. If they release paid DLC is will be more like the full expansions found again in the Witcher3. Blood and Wine was bigger than mainy AAA games by its self

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Marvel's Avengers?

TooBarFoo

No way, this came across as another Anthem with Marvel skins when they first talked about it and everything I saw or heard about went downhill from there. If there is a decent single player campaign and its a free I may think about downloading it, then probably decide against it.
