Everybody listing the Ubisoft cock ups have seemingly already forgot Skull and Bones. I’d be surprised if the Singapore Government paid for entirety of the alleged $650-$850 million it cost to make.

I'm currently at 173 PS5 discs so I sure as hell got one. Got more than double that on PS4 too so it was a no brainer.

I would have been all in if it was £650 with a stand and a disc drive and had money set aside for it, but the price just feels gross.

@Atreus97 Correct, but the live service games they want to push have to not look like a steaming heap of garbage for people to be interested.

The statistics state that subscription growth has stalled so something has gone drastically wrong and it hasn’t panned out for them despite all mouthpieces stating everything is fine.

@Northern_munkey You literally cannot complete the mission with anything higher than a 1 star rating due to a bug which then impacts the progress of completing the Major Order. If your standards are that low and you’re fine with that, power to you. Hope your friends can pull the weight of every player that’s fallen off over the last month.

Played this a few times last night and it’s a mess. Having enemies spawn directly on the objective seems massively unfair. Also completing the one objective triggers the evacuation but on completion the game punishes you for not completing all the objectives??? Did they play test it before they put it out?

I was looking forward to it until they made the dumb choice of making the physical release only have Stories 1 on the disc and having 2 as a download code.

What a waste of energy. Where was this anger when microtransactions were getting added to games? Where was this pushback when faced with online-only single player games being shut down? Everybody was cool with those apparently…

I feel the damage here is probably less due to no physical, but that it released on pc exclusively on Epic’s store. Still, if Remedy would like my money, I’ll be down for a physical ps5 version. Assuming it’s all on the disc and not some Ubisoft *****.

I think the issue is that both games look dull as hell to the casual eye.

Personally, I’m still playing through February’s games so neither of these are even being considered.

@ChrisDeku Ok, but talking about Control specifically. The sales were 90% digital in 2020 because people were limited due to the pandemic and not being able to physically shop. In 2021 it was given away on PS+ further skewing its data in favour of digital and after that sales will slow down significantly due to everybody wanting to play it would have by that point.

In the grand scheme of things, people still buy physical media. Bands still release CDs and vinyls and studios still put out DVDs and blu rays. Having the option available leads to more sales overall.

Good for Remedy. I’m sure Capcom appreciates the extra sales they got out of me for Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6 using the money I would have bought Alan Wake 2 with!

I would have bought it but “lol oops all digital”. Bought Street Fighter 6 Steelbook edition and Resident Evil 4 Remake for the same money instead.

@NoCode23 Yeah I played it on X360 and it was a nightmare. I powered through it and enjoyed the story a lot but it would have been so much better if they put it a bit more effort.

Only update this game ever needed was being able to invert Y axis separately from the X axis on the camera controls…

@jamison1993 There’s loads of PS4 games with dlc on the disc. Seems like Horizon Forbidden West could get a dlc disc but for some reason everybody else has to have a dlc code which is trash.
