@DennisReynolds It's not really "fair," it's more that there's terrible balance between various builds/ashes, so you can trivialize fights abusing INT, katanas, bleed, spirit summons, etc. Perhaps they'll get the balancing right with this latest patch? 2 and 1/2 years later...

IMHO it's a mess compared to every other Souls game. It seemed rushed, too, at launch you could stunlock almost any boss with Hoarfrost Stomp. I found myself frustrated by the looooong combos from one boss and then feeling like I was overpowered for the next. Didn't make for a good time.

I don't begrudge the game's fans, enjoy the DLC, but I'd personally rather replay BB or any DS. Maybe if ER hadn't ended with Elden Beast I wouldn't have such a foul taste left in my mouth.

Ashen was great and "Soulslike" is a label that's often used incorrectly. I'll be buying this unless the reviews are awful

None of that is true. They showed plenty of normal MH action in the SoP trailer (with the UI turned off) and all visuals aside from the 2023 trailer show a big step up from World

@DennisReynolds It's a little silly to worry about that imo. They are showcasing a more seamless structure for assigned quests. But it's obviously still going to be MH.

This show should not be covered by gaming news sites going forward, that was a total waste of brain space

The whole industry is turtling and spending as little as possible to please financial institutions. It's really disheartening

@ShogunRok I bounced off MHW at least once before it clicked. They should produce in-game video tutorials so you don't have to go to a YouTuber to learn a weapon.

Sounds like Focus Mode is like wirebugs in Rise; use it for a super parry or a couple of seconds of invulnerability. Hopefully it doesn't trivialize hunts too much

@WolfyTn You should try it, once you master a weapon in MH other games seem a bit simple and dull by comparison

I don't care about ragebait that streamers and youtubers use to pump up their view count. The vast majority of players will make an account and consider it a slight annoyance

Curious if this is going to have the same clunky co-op restrictions as World. Looks like it might, which would be a hilariously stubborn move. Either way this is going to be incredible

A thrilling glimpse of MHW and Astro looked excellent. A little bummed there won't be Astro PSVR2 content. Concord is not my thing but at least it had style

Prey was extremely great, Fallout and TES wish they used environments, art, and writing half as well as that wonderful game. Hopefully Arkane Lyon can carry the torch

Microsoft has a duty to its shareholders to get a new dev on a multiplatform Fallout game ASAP.

@DennisReynolds My understanding is MS can't do anything to Fallout without Todd's approval. Expect Fallout 5 in the mid-2030s using the Starfield engine along with a couple of mobile games. Screw Todd Howard

@Anke Yeah, if you owned it via PS Plus Collection you were unable to buy the $5 standard version before the $20 PS5 version became available.

If I bother with FO4 again, I'll find a cheap key for a PC version in the hopes that the London mod gets sorted out.

Thanks for writing about this! The "PS4 | Standard Edition" game info in the store says you're entitled to the PS5 version, and the original announcement said "all players," so I'm still clinging to a shred of hope they'll open it to Collection/Essential users. I paid $99 for Starfail so this really is the absolute least they could do

@Buckeye4Life2015 Only if you subscribe to Extra/Premium. If you got it via PS Plus Collection you aren't getting it. It sucks

Really disappointing that they didn't make it clear in advance that PS Plus Collection/Essential are stuck with a PS4-only version. But I guess disappointing is par for the course with BGS

@gonzilla Their Discord says you get it if you're an Extra subscriber. Looks like they are asking people who have the game via PS Plus Collection or PS Plus Essential to pay up, even if you paid for all the DLC.

I'll just focus on FO1/2/3 when I need a fix. I was thinking about diving into 76 but I am just so sick of Bethesda after Starfield and now this

KCD is a mediocre Skyrim clone. I respect what they tried to do with the realism but the gameplay was supbar. I suspect this will be more of the same

I actually find these far more annoying than the Dragon's Dogma fake YouTuber scandal. Super Credits are hard to collect without an exploit-y farming technique and you need them to spend medals on the latest content.

@UltimateOtaku91 After TGA they hinted very strongly the next batch of info would be SGF so people didn't expect it as part of the 20th anniversary stuff. I suspect it will be a gameplay trailer and Ryozo Q&A followed by a longer capcom video on YouTube. Really hoping the Q1 2025 rumors are true!

I was excited by the reveal, but I can't see myself playing this unless it has a fresh combat system and new storylines. I've been pretty busy with this year's releases (HD2, 7R2, DD2) and next year figures to be busier

This game is less broken at launch than:

Helldivers 2 (my current GOTY nevertheless)
Elden Ring (was god-awful on most PCs)
Baldur's Gate 3 (same issue with framerate in cities but much worse)

This game has more ambitious/better graphics than the 3 titles listed above. The outrage is baffling

@gipsojo I would say the DD2 writing is mostly solid, but I played through almost all of Starfield so perhaps my bar has been set below the floor
