After watching the levels of detail that Barlog goes into in the Raising Kratos doc, I can not wait to play his next project, whatever it is. The guy is gaming’s Spielberg… but when Spielberg was still Spielberg.
@Marquez I think it’s down to open-world fetch-quests becoming a dirty word (or term) within gaming, since they were introduced in the early GTA games and then just thrown into most subsequent open-world games since, without much thought going into it. So when the gameplay loop of DS was revealed to be a delivery simulator, people who were already sick of fetch-quests made their minds up before even playing it… and let everyone possible know about it.
What they didn’t account for was all the little intricacies and decision making that goes into every square-metre that you navigate when manoeuvring across DS’s landscape.
@Marquez yeah Death Stranding is incredible… but certain aspects of the press and the community went after it for some reason. I still can’t convince one of my mates to even try it and he’s a huge kojima fan.
@Yousef- it’s a slog mate, have to do a full playthrough to unlock Paladin (Extra Hard) difficulty, there’s a butt-load of collectibles, a trial for each stage (all 46 of them and you’re not able to do the trial until you’ve already completed the stage once) and then the actual Paladin playthrough… not gonna lie, it’s a lot like 😅
@Yousef- if you’re really looking for new games influenced by post 2018 God of War - you could do a far sight worse than trying Clash - Artifacts of Chaos.
@Yousef- I’m hoping (without any evidence to back this up) it’ll be an attempt at something similar to the post 2018 God of War games, like the original was an old-school God of War-clone… ish 😉
@Yousef- I haven’t played any (yet) but have heard very good things about Darksiders 2.
I like the fact that each entry is a different variation on the action game… 1 character action, 2 a Zelda style adventure, 3 a souls-like and Genesis a Diablo-esque action rpg. Way to diversify!
@Yousef- unfortunately there is no plat for The Warriors, there is for Bully and Manhunt though. I’d love Manhunt 2 to get an update and a re-release too (no matter how unlikely).
Never gonna happen… but could you imagine the old Rockstar today. Multiple GTA’s per generation, interspersed with lesser classics like Bully, Manhunt and The Warriors. Oh how lucky we were!
Just finished off the extreme run on Strange Brigade, now I’m gonna make a start on my Paladin run on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow… great game but damn do they make you work for that plat!
@Shinnok789 listen, I’d want lovingly produced remakes of each installment for sure… I just can’t see an appropriate level of appetite for that unfortunately. So for rehabilitated casuals like me, remasters might be the only chance I get at playing them.
Having missed out on these back in the day (I was a blinkered casual ☺️) and having heard the subsequent gushing, remastered versions would rock my world!
One-armed for a wee-while after having surgery yesterday, so gonna try Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars as I reckon it’ll be doable in my current state 🤕
My ps3 farewell tour continues this weekend with Remember Me. I’ve heard it’s… okay, so I’m not overly excited to start it but sometimes that actually helps me enjoy a game more.
Finished all the single player stuff on Strange Brigade this week (& really enjoyed it tbh)… so planning on getting the mp stuff done over the weekend depending on availability.
Also, I randomly started MLB The Show 22 this week, so will try and learn to actually hit the ball this weekend 😅

Re: Interview: Cat Quest 3 Dev on the Success of Its Delightful RPG Series, and What's Next for the Studio
I do have the first two in the backlog but have no plans on when I’ll be actually playing them. Heard they’re a couple of pleasant surprises though.

Loved this back in the day. I picked up a digital copy for PS4 a few years back, this is a nice reminder that I need to replay it at some stage.

As a Sony Sad-Dad fan, Sony GaaS failures are more of a positive to me than a negative. 🍻
