Hopefully, the PS Plus version will also be patched. Silly me traded my physical copy in last year, thinking a 60 fps patch won't ever come out any more. Here we are.
I can only recommend this app, I've been using it for years in conjunction with the Razer Kishi which is a nice budget option imo. It goes on sale all the time as well. I've been playing a lot of games via remote play surprisingly. Even some you "shouldn't play" via remote play. In my home environment, the delay is very close to non existent. For some games, this is already enough to adapt to it accordingly.
@ThorsHammer I've ordered from VR Optician for two reasons. They are manufacturing in Germany where I live, so I don't have to wait very long when it comes to shipping. Plus, I've used their lenses on my PSVR1 and can't stress enough what a flawless experience it was. That said, I'm sure you can achieve similar or equal results with brands like HonsVR as well. They seem to be the cheapest option. Pricing is also dependent on your specific values.
As for Resistance: Absolutely dated but man, it's just so fun. Can't wait to play the other 2 games as well.
@thefourfoldroot1 same honestly. I can't wait to dive back in hardcore once the lenses are here. I'm just extremely paranoid although there's probably no need to because I've been extremely careful and made sure there's always enough space between my glasses and the lenses. But it would be typical for me if I accidentally scratched them the day before my prescription lenses are being delivered, lol.
@CaptD I'd love that. However, I think Resistance wasn't continued because it didn't sell as well although there were plans for a sequel but they ditched it. Such a shame because I think the series is so underappreciated. I seriously consider 2 and 3 among the best first person singleplayer shooters.
Insomniac keeps posting pictures from the series on social media and my hope was that this might be a good sign for the future but they recently answered someone that there are no plans whatsoever at the moment.
As for Killzone: They had a VR game in development at Supermassive for PSVR but it got canceled in the midst of development as well. Shame.
I'd play more PSVR2 games but I have decided to wait for my precription lenses which should arrive next week. It's fine with glasses but I'd rather not take the risk of scratching anything until they're here.
So, I am currently replaying some PS3 goodness: I've replayed Resistance Fall of Man this week and just started the second. God, I miss this series and I'd love to see it again on PS some day.
@DTfeartheBEARD it's a weird one though because you can't use the analog sticks at the same time. So as soon as you hold L2 to aim, you can only gyro aim, the right stick does nothing. But for me, that was still ok, just need to pre-aim without L2. I haven't messed around with the settings too much but it felt a bit floaty/ delayed. Still fine though.
I'll chip away at the 2 games I have left on PSVR1 which most likely won't get an update (Arashi, Robinson The Journey) although I have PSVR2 as well. The reason for that is that I'm waiting for my prescription lenses for the new headset. While it works well with glasses, I'm paranoid I'll make a dumb move in a hectic moment and scratch it. The prescription lenses will simply give me that last peace of mind before I dive in hardcore.
@LiamCroft it's a bit irritating how people are judging you for this, lol. I personally don't care about time tracking either but everyone has their little ticks.
@LiamCroft I can't even see a pattern with the playtime on PS. In somes cases, it is definitely on point. Some others are so far off which made me think the system simply accumulates the time the game is running, regardless whether you're pausing etc. which you could circumvent by closing the game every time you're away from the console. Then again, as a recent example, Hogwarts Legacy shows about half the time compared to the in-game timer. It's really weird. Makes you wonder what the system behind it is.
@get2sammyb "Yoshida explained that the developer wanted to render each location in obsessive detail, and while there’ll be ample opportunity to explore, you’ll effectively be poking around in vast zones rather than a sandbox that spans hundreds of kilometres"
I can't stress enough how much I appreciate that approach to world building.
@thefourfoldroot1 Will do the exact same. It was a flawless experience with PSVR. Fingers crossed eye tracking and foveated rendering won't be impacted.
@Max_the_German This seems to be an issue I come across a lot. People, especially newcomers, perceive it as blurry because it is not as sharp as on the social screen which it can't be. 2K, 4K etc. have to be regarded in conjunction with distance. When you press your face against your 4K TV, it will look blurry as well. Also, distant objects simply look softer, this is not an issue of sweetspot but simply the tech.
The best way for me to tell whether it sits right is text. Either in menus or subtitles in game. I simply adjust until it appears the sharpest and leave it like that. No issues afterwards while playing.
@Terry12 Personally, I'm not really underwhelmed but maybe I expected it to be just a tad better. So far, it feels like the sharpest parts of the picture you could get with PSVR1 but everywhere.
I like a good single player first person shooter. However, they are very few and far between for me. This looked promising but I am not sure about it yet.
That said: Sony, Resistance remasters please. Sell them well and then make a sequel. Thanks. A man can dream.
When I finished that PS1 themed section in Astro's Playroom and you're standing in front of those CRT TVs and they suddenly play that iconic PS1 boot-up screen, it was a storm of nostalgia. R.I.P.
@Shepherd_Tallon I got my PS3 first, the 360 a bit later for Alan Wake mainly but I was using the 360 for the party chat option first and foremost. Don't get me wrong, I liked Gears, Fable and such but I never fell in love with any of those games as opposed to Uncharted 2, Resistance, Heavy Rain etc.. A lot of PlayStation games simply have that little (or big) extra for me that sets them apart from the rest.
@SrpskaArtilerija I think as long as you're not making outlandish claims like "everyone who buys this game is pro Russia and pro war", everyone is fine with it here. You have personal issues with supporting this game, so you shouldn't, I don't think anyone in their right mind here would tell you differently.
@Snackfood This could have been written by me. To my surprise, the story or characters are not catching me at all. The more I played of the story, the less I was invested. Not the hugest fan of the UI either. But the exploration and the attention to detail and how they designed and crafted this world is all the more stunning. Just taking the atmosphere and the world in is what I love most about this game. However, if I had to give it a score, it would rather be an 8.
Aaaand on my list you go. Holy f, say goodbye to a dry summer spell this year. VR alone will keep my occupied for a while. But I won't mind an occasional break for RE4 and such. Good times.

@Olmaz enough room for glasses. However, don't pull it too far in, so your glasses don't touch the lenses. This will cause a lot of scratches.
