@carlos82 That's the magic of VR. I don't want it to replace flat gaming at all. We're not there yet and I think there are certain genres that simply don't go as well with VR and are better suited for flat overall. But every time I put that headset on and it sucks me right into its worlds: Magic moments every single time.
@lindos "So great to be exited, but I'd be careful with those expectations. After the first two 3D films who went back for more?"
I do not think this is not his first rodeo with VR. For a first timer, this might be true as you simply can't tell whether you like it or not without trying it. For me, 3D movies and VR are not comparable. VR gaming has elevated the vast majority of games I've played to the point where I can't go back to "flat" anymore. And this was with already outdated tech at the time. RE7 is one of those examples. I have played RE8 last year and I certainly enjoyed it but I was thinking the whole way through: This would be so much better in VR.
@trev666 I agree to an extent. That said, how much money they make impacts the products they make. And this is a cause of concern to some, to others not so much as it is highly dependent on individual preferences. But yes, none of them deserve a blind following and one should make use of where they feel their money is well invested in.
@trev666 Probably because the gaming industry is a competetive market where the biggest participants determine parts of where the industry will be going. That aside, just because this is a PS centric website, doesn't automatically mean there are no multi-console owners here.
@JayJ Albeit similar services, Sony has a very different approach when it comes to choosing which games go into theirs. The main focus of the article here are games that launch into the service simultaneously. This is not a thing on PS for the most part.
@Jaz007 For a giant like MS, pretty much anything is sustainable, that's the worst part about it. Profitable though: Yeah, this might take a little while, lol.
The first one was the main reason for me back then to buy a 360 and I didn't regret it. I remember buying the Collector's Edition at a local electronics chain. It came in a cover looking like a thick book. When I was checking out, the cashier looked at it, then at me and said: Do you really want to read all of this? I then explained to her what it really was and she just shook her head and gave me a look like "That's super weird" ๐
I ended up really loving that game back then for its mysterious atmosphere but it felt a lot like an action game first and foremost. Remedy taking the survival horror approach is a change I'm welcoming.
@Shepherd_Tallon I agree. Obviously, I know some of the lore or easter eggs in this game but I'm totally not in for that and they do not really elevate the experience for me. It's just a beautiful fantasy RPG in itself, right up my alley.
@Green-Bandit I love the stick tension on the Xbox series controllers but pretty much don't like the rest as much. However, ultimately, I'd be fine with either one of them. They're all very good controllers in my book. I also like the Switch Pro controller.
@NEStalgia I'm right there with you on tension. That's probably the reason I still love my Dualshock 3 so much, lol. Most people love strong tension while I only mess up aiming with it by constantly overaiming.
@starbuck2212 No complaints, I love it. I didn't know how much I needed back buttons until i had them, lol. Also, I like the convex analog sticks much more but I understand I'm in the minority with that.
@ppitchfork I think it's a bit over exaggerated. 4 hours is the absolute minimum when you have constant heavy rumble, such as in Forspoken while sprinting. For instance, in Dead Space a full charge lasted me over 7 hours. I'm having no issues so far. That said, I always put it on the charger once I'm done.
Wow, that looks stunning. But now that I've got the Edge, which I enjoy immensely, I won't buy any Dualsense ever again I'm afraid. Otherwise this would be an instant grab.
I'm still having issues with classic games despite changing the settings to NTSC. They don't feel any different compared to PAL and there's still a ton of ghosting. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? My PS5 settings as well as TV settings are correct.
@Green-Bandit Well, telling someone that their preference is inferior is definitely weird and I hope you could see that this wasn't my intention at all. At the same time, it does not surprise me that this happens, lol
@Green-Bandit uhm, I wasn't debating that the vast majority has gone digital and I have nothing against that. I was just trying to explain to you that for some, like me, digital doesn't have a single advantage over physical and that there's more than simply the ability to give it to a friend or trade it in.
@Green-Bandit Physical is also cheaper both at launch as well as faster and deeper sales besides the option to buy used. That may vary from region to region though. And with CoD you pretty much picked the only example where there is no full gold master on the disc, at least on PS. I think this has become more common on Xbox where discs have truly become glorified keys.
@Shepherd_Tallon My brother from another mother. Couldn't agree more. In fact, I'd love to have that one "safe haven" game I can always return to that keeps me entertained. High hopes for Factions when it comes to that.
My copy will be delivered in the next hour. Can't wait, pretty excited for it. Got a day off today, not for the game but it is a nice coincidence indeed
@NEStalgia I don't think it's as much about saving money. In the past, the companies wanted the spotlight outside of the gaming press and TV which has become more and more meaningless. The writing has been on the wall for E3 for quite some time now. On top of that, it takes pressure away from the developers who had to be ready to show something off worth presenting during those events. Those would be the true money wasters imo.
@stvevan The thing is: My statement wasn't anti-LGBTQ+ at all and it wasn't intended to be. All I wanted to express with my post was that this is purposefully reaching at a conspiratorial level to stir something up for the sake of it that simply isn't there.
@2here2there The tech costs what it costs. People were asking for a leap in VR and that's what we'll get. Could they have made a 400 $ one? Sure. But then everyone would be singing a different tune like: VR is *****, only 1 v 1 arena fighters with cellphone graphics. Now we're finally making a leap and they are being called out for asking ridiculous prices.
@thefourfoldroot1 Agreed. I love horror games but I am totally immune to jump scares which is why I prefer psychological horror games. However, when playing horror games in VR, I am a little sissy, lol. RE7 is one of the unscariest games ever for me when played flat, in VR I almost wet my pants in some sections.

Re: Microsoft Admits Xbox Game Pass Is Harming Software Sales After All
@JayJ not the same. Those are games whose sales have already dipped. They didn't go into the service simultaneously at launch.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy's Launch Week Sales Trump Elden Ring's in Massive Debut
@Tobiaku Please don't tell me he was trying to link HL sales figures to Brianna Ghey. Because that would be disgusting to say the least.
