Re: PSVR2 Headset and Sense Controllers Get Taken Apart in Dual Teardown Videos

@lindos "So great to be exited, but I'd be careful with those expectations. After the first two 3D films who went back for more?"

I do not think this is not his first rodeo with VR. For a first timer, this might be true as you simply can't tell whether you like it or not without trying it. For me, 3D movies and VR are not comparable. VR gaming has elevated the vast majority of games I've played to the point where I can't go back to "flat" anymore. And this was with already outdated tech at the time. RE7 is one of those examples. I have played RE8 last year and I certainly enjoyed it but I was thinking the whole way through: This would be so much better in VR.

@trev666 I agree to an extent. That said, how much money they make impacts the products they make. And this is a cause of concern to some, to others not so much as it is highly dependent on individual preferences. But yes, none of them deserve a blind following and one should make use of where they feel their money is well invested in.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Is Now Playable 'From Start to Finish', Says Remedy

The first one was the main reason for me back then to buy a 360 and I didn't regret it. I remember buying the Collector's Edition at a local electronics chain. It came in a cover looking like a thick book. When I was checking out, the cashier looked at it, then at me and said: Do you really want to read all of this? I then explained to her what it really was and she just shook her head and gave me a look like "That's super weird" ๐Ÿ˜

I ended up really loving that game back then for its mysterious atmosphere but it felt a lot like an action game first and foremost. Remedy taking the survival horror approach is a change I'm welcoming.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Hogwarts Legacy?

@Shepherd_Tallon I agree. Obviously, I know some of the lore or easter eggs in this game but I'm totally not in for that and they do not really elevate the experience for me. It's just a beautiful fantasy RPG in itself, right up my alley.

@Green-Bandit Physical is also cheaper both at launch as well as faster and deeper sales besides the option to buy used. That may vary from region to region though. And with CoD you pretty much picked the only example where there is no full gold master on the disc, at least on PS. I think this has become more common on Xbox where discs have truly become glorified keys.

@NEStalgia I don't think it's as much about saving money. In the past, the companies wanted the spotlight outside of the gaming press and TV which has become more and more meaningless. The writing has been on the wall for E3 for quite some time now. On top of that, it takes pressure away from the developers who had to be ready to show something off worth presenting during those events. Those would be the true money wasters imo.

Re: Sony Denies Claims of PSVR2 Stock Cuts at Launch

@2here2there The tech costs what it costs. People were asking for a leap in VR and that's what we'll get. Could they have made a 400 $ one? Sure. But then everyone would be singing a different tune like: VR is *****, only 1 v 1 arena fighters with cellphone graphics. Now we're finally making a leap and they are being called out for asking ridiculous prices.

Re: PS5's So-Called Scariest Game MADiSON Is Haunting PSVR2

@thefourfoldroot1 Agreed. I love horror games but I am totally immune to jump scares which is why I prefer psychological horror games. However, when playing horror games in VR, I am a little sissy, lol. RE7 is one of the unscariest games ever for me when played flat, in VR I almost wet my pants in some sections.
