Re: Deals: PSVR2 Price Gets a Hefty Cut at Numerous UK Retailers

@naruball @mrbone I'll add Kayak Mirage for your parents, Puzzling Places is a great suggestion. That said, it is difficult to recommend anything as it is also very dependent on how much your parents react to motion sickness. Puzzling places should not pose any threat here, but anything that involves movement can potentially cause it.

One major tip I can give you is: If you're feeling a little dizzy (meaning in the head), closing your eyes and standing still for a few seconds can already help, take it step by step then. In case you're feeling funny or sick to your stomach, stop IMMEDIATELY. The latter is a clear sign to take a long break from it as you can't overcome it, contrary to the first example. I've seen more than three people trying to push through and they all ended up in the bathroom, lol.

@GeeEssEff I suggest lens inserts or contacts. I've been using lens inserts from VR Optician and couldn't be happier. They snap onto the headset lenses and you won't need your glasses. There are solid ones from several overseas manufacturers as well for cheaper. If you have no issues wearing contacts though, I still think this is the best solution. Unfortunately, I can't use contacts any more, used to with the first PSVR.

@OneWingedFantasy While I am a staunch defender of "only pay what you're personally willing to pay" and that launch price is a hefty sum for most, some people have seriously crazy expectations, lol. I can't even count the times I've read "This should be 200 at most". Sure, Jan.

Price aside, what always surprises me the most is how unaffected people seem to be by the "VR factor" alone. Personally, I can't stress enough how much more fun I usually have due to it alone. I have to admit I had put it aside for a while, but recently I've played Hubris and Synapse back to back and currently I am dabbling in Galaxy Kart and started Madison. Not ashamed to admit that I had way more fun playing them than some critically acclaimed AAA games. That magic every single time when you put the headset on is simply unmatched for me. And while I agree that VR needs to make use of bigger IP more to draw more people in, at the same time, I'm baffled that a lot of people are so unenthusiastic referring to the overall experience. Sometimes, it seems like people do not even want to give the games any chance at all, there's so much good stuff out there. Although I'm spending significantly more time playing flat, not once have I regretted paying full price at launch.

Re: Ex-PS5 Exec Shawn Layden Isn't Holding Back His Feelings on Xbox

@pip_muzz Phil admitting to doing it themselves was a little too detached from the slimey phrase, so I don't know how it can be seen in context. He was definitely referring to Sony with it. But it's wild to see all the tweets Shawn liked. And he hasn't stopped since. Apparently, they gave instructions to the crowd (which was very cringe btw) when to cheer, which a user has shown in a video clip, saying how fake it was etc. and Shawn liked that tweet as well. Man's out to fight, lol.
Edit: He has hidden his likes now

Right after the showcase, I was thinking: What if they were going all out with that showcase in order to dampen the blow for upcoming statements? Well, that came quickly, didn't it, lol. Jokes aside, the writing has been on the wall for a while now. I liked how he said something like "we don't do slimy platform things". Yeah right. That's easy to say when you have no other choice, because you effed up for so long and brought yourself in that position.

Re: PS5 Fans Beg Sony for a More Fulfilling Livestream in the Aftermath of Xbox Show

A lot of the stuff they showed should have been shown a lot sooner and still has no release windows. That said, that was one hell of a show and actually had things I was seriously interested in. I haven't said that about Xbox games in like a decade. A well-deserved kick in the arse for Sony. Currently, I can't complain, but they are annoyingly quiet with a lot of their first party studios.

@mkr With the newest gameplay they didn't do themselves a favor due to the heavy focus on combat, making it seem like that's the priority. That said, the scenes shown were authentic and the very few examples where you're actually fighting "hordes" in the original as well. I can't wrap my head around whey they made those parts the spotlights though. Also, terrible gun sounds.
