Only slightly related, there's a niche film called 'Victoria', which is all shot in one take from a single camera. I loved it, clearly demonstrates how this can enhance storytelling and experiencing events like you are part of it. Obviously a game like this will be much bigger/longer, but that makes me even more intrigued. I had no interest in this game but I am not so sure now
It always seemed to be an obvious choice when I was thinking about it. I haven't played Skyrim but now I might get it and the VR for it. Playing as some kind of mage with the Move controllers dishing out spells sounds amazing.
Might take that as an opportunity to try and play it again and actually finish. That inventory management, though.............. (I know there are storage boxes but it's still horrible).
@get2sammyb I agree with you actually, very rough around the edges for me, the gameplay I saw looks varied but... incoherent and that's the whole vibe I am getting from this. I really liked SoM so want to like this but will definitely wait for reviews.
@Rudy_Manchego I feel exactly the same way, the more I see of it the less interested I become, but will hold judgment until it's released and reviewed, that will be interesting.
I've still got my Take Your Heart edition unwrapped. I've still got games to play atm and stuff to do, so may end up selling it; a quick browse reveals that there's too much competition at the moment, so may wait a bit. Would then buy the standard edition and soundtrack separately when I am ready to play.
Excellent news for an excellent game. Still during my 2nd play-through, Horizon completely on hold, Persona 5 will remain unopened until I am done with this.
I think in these teams you have the thinking people and the doing people. The former may be working on the story, project plan etc. of FFXVI but before that's finished, the doing people can update existing games if for whatever financial reason this is still viable. I will pick this game up again once it's all part of one, full, complete package and at a sale, so not anytime soon. I can wait.
@rjejr The difference is, Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 were complete games, FFXV is not. It's impossible not to feel different about these games. I defended FF up to point when I actually played it and thought: where's the story in this? It's unreleased yet, that's where it is. I sold my Collector's Edition and may get a 'complete edition' once all DLC are out and give it a go once more.
I've also got the Take Your Heart collection on preorder, long, long time ago. Mainly for the OST as I know I will like it, but there rest is also nice (but which I will probably have no use for).
@TheGZeus I think it's the second book, and my favourite story out of all across the first two books. Anyway, I got off with everyone I could (give Geralt a break and some fun) and then was a bit surprised when it didn't quite look like what it was supposed to. Not sure how much Geralt enjoyed that in the end; you can't have everything I guess.
Can there be a whole feature on this on PushSquare, pretty please? With gifs and pics etc., it cracks me up every time I see this and I am loving these new pics in this article, lol.
Guys, just check out that twitter account with the walking animations, the gifs people posted there had me rotfl'ing so hard! You can always count on the internet, my favorite piece of news in a while, haha.
Noctis seemed to have known what he was doing at the later stages of the game, and yet none of that was explained, he was just doing it like he had a plan we knew nothing about. Well, a general idea yes, but not any specifics. I thought going in that the whole cosmology would be explained and apart from a few books you can find that's it. The idea of and Oracle is not explained at all to my knowledge. And what happened to the villains? Yes, there's one in the end but what about the rest? So many questions, it made me think I've missed out on a few chapters I should've uncovered but failed somehow. I like it when a game gives you dots to connect yourself, that's clever and gets me thinking. With so few dots here I was struggling, I would need to make up my own dots, and that's not good storytelling.
The truth is, we don't really know exactly what's going to happen. People tend to think in extremes i.e. the worst and it won't be that, but nevertheless there's very little to feel optimistic about, objectively speaking. And we might not be speaking of 'UK' for much longer on top of all that. Don't get me wrong, I am super negative about the whole thing, I am a foreigner living in the UK, no British passport (yet?), so who knows what will happen to me. Everybody says that rights will be protected, but for how long? All it would take is a bad government implementing bad policies to drive everyone away, in this sense nobody will ever feel safe. EU is a safer bet and if I was running a company I would start making plans to move. There's nothing worse in running a business than political and economical uncertainty.
Sounds good to me that positioning will make a difference so switching is not only viable but necessary sometimes. What I am worried about is what the other AI-controlled characters would be doing in the meantime? I hope some kind of gambit system will be introduced to manage their AI that you can actually tweak.
@RZA_198X Following on from that, I have an external HDD hooked onto my router, which is wired to PS4, will this work? Doubt it but will look for that in the settings later.
This is an awesome list, luckily showing that after Persona until July there will be nothing new for me to play, which will give me time to finish HZD, Nier, Uncharted 4 and Gravity Rush 2. Oh, and Nioh...
@Sevenifity Thanks for feeding my hype even more, I am really surprised how much the demo grabbed me and all the snippets I saw/read about so far. Can't wait, this will seriously be fighting for my attention with HZD.
@ShogunRok @rjejr I actually quite like the summoning system, although I know I'm in the minority. Yes, you can't do it as you please but it does make sense from the story point of view (and they are OP). They should've made a more controlled summoning make sense in the context but we have what we have. A suggestion for improvement would be to actually get a list of summons who 'offer' their help rather than just a button to press, and choose which one you want to come.
@NinjaWaddleDee Agreed, however can't help but think that Digital Foundry may help the industry in the end, they are making people focus on performance, graphics too, but I like their emphasis on framerates etc., we really all want a smooth gameplay, kudos to them for highlighting issues, indirectly helping with the right things being patched up (I hope). Either way, people will be putting that pressure to have playable games day 1. Having said all that, Nier is definitely up there, I will be very happy with this level of performance.

Re: Site News: Follow Our Horizon: Zero Dawn Hub Page
FFXV will be getting a lot of updates in the coming year, so the hub should stay alive for a while, and I'd be interested in it.
Also: 'games from Japan', there's a strong following here of those and again I would personally be interested in having this as a hub. Great idea BTW.
